C6 Dangerous Decision Part 1

Clara opened her eyes slowly, blinking them to adjust to the light in the room. She exhaled slowly, grateful she could still breathe in the fresh air. Clara was pensive momentarily, remembering what had happened until she woke up with a fit and healthy body. No part of her body felt sick, considering that recently, during her pregnancy, almost every day, she felt pain, especially in the stomach. But Clara thought it was strange because she no longer felt that pain today.

She felt her stomach and suddenly gasped when she realized that a flat stomach had replaced her bulging stomach.

'What happened to me?' she thought as if she had lost her memory. Again, she remembered what had happened to her. For a time, she thought maybe all this time only dreaming when she was pregnant with a baby that she didn't even know who the father was. She got up from a lying position. Quiet and silent, no one was in the room she knew was hers. She glanced around the room and gasped when she saw a bassinet near her bed.

She hesitantly got off the soft bed and walked towards the bassinet. She took a sip of saliva before looking into the basket. Then, a smile tugged at her lips when she saw a tiny baby lying in the basket. The figure of a baby was so dazzling in her eyes. Without hesitation, she took hold of the baby, lifted it, and held it tightly in her arms. Now she had remembered everything. A few hours ago, she was in labor. The pain she had never felt before almost made her give up, or maybe she had given up. She couldn't endure the pain and gave up trying to maintain consciousness. At first, she thought survival was impossible, but for Clara, her life was no longer necessary; the most important thing for her was that her baby could be born safely.

But now a miracle happened. Clara managed to survive. Even now, she can see the baby she has been waiting for. Can she hold him in her arms? The baby had an enchanting face that made Clara stare at her unblinkingly. The baby already had thick hair even though he had just been born into the world. His hair was pitch black, like the darkness of the night; his skin was very white. Clara was silently grateful for giving birth to such a charming baby.

The tiny baby, who had been closed since earlier, slowly began to open both eyes, showing blood-red irises. The successful iris hypnotizes Clara so that she is even more fascinated by her baby.

"Are you hungry, honey?" Clara asked the baby. The handsome baby stared at her silently, with no sound or crying. The baby stared at her in silence, making Clara feel exasperated and unable to resist the urge to kiss her flesh and blood. Clara pressed her forehead to the baby's forehead, then kissed his forehead, trying to convey her love as a mother to her son.

Clara, who had been standing earlier, walked over to the bed and sat down on the soft mattress. She opened her top slightly to give access to her to breastfeed her son.

“Stop Clara!!” Clara suddenly stopped her movement when the scream suddenly caught her ear. The voice of someone very familiar is none other than her Mother.

"Why not, Mom? I just want to breastfeed my baby," Clara asked, confused by her Mother's reaction. But on the other hand, Celin was grateful to have come to the room on time; she couldn't imagine what would happen to Clara if the baby bit her. The baby she knew was not just any baby.

"Don't let the baby bite you," Celin said, which was more like a ban, making Clara frown in surprise, not understanding what her Mother was saying.

"He won't bite me, Mom. I just want to breastfeed my baby. After all, it doesn't matter even if he bites me, it definitely won't hurt. His teeth haven't even grown in," Clara said, expressing her confusion.

"The baby is not just any baby." Clara frowned even more at her Mother's words.

"What do you mean, Mother?"

“Maybe you won't believe this, because Mother didn't believe it at first either. But you have proven it with your own eyes. That story is true." Not only surprised, but Clara also started getting annoyed with her Mother's attitude, who kept saying something ambiguous in her opinion. She didn't understand anything her Mother was saying at all.

"Mom, I don't understand what you're saying," Clara said with a questioning look at her Mother.

"Your grandmother once told a story to Mother. The story of a blood-sucking creature…"

"Oh, you mean the story about a vampire who is Grandma's first love? I already know that story because my grandmother also told it to me before she died," Clara said, cutting Celin off. Celin stared in disbelief, knowing her daughter had heard stories about vampires.

"What does grandma's story about vampires have to do with my baby?" Clara asked again with no less irritation in her voice.

"That baby of yours… h-he… he's a vampire." Celin hesitated to say this, but she realized that she shouldn't have kept the truth about her grandson a secret from Clara, who was none other than the birth mother of the vampire baby. Clara didn't say anything. She just widened her eyes in disbelief.

"W-what are you talking about? Your joke isn't funny at all," she said, showing a fake smile.

"Mother also did not believe it at first but has proven it."

"How can you prove it? I didn't expect Mother to be like that. This baby is just a tiny, innocent baby. Why do you have the heart to say he's a vampire? He is my baby, the baby I conceived and gave birth to. He's human, just like me." Clara could not contain her sadness. It was enough for her father and the Huston family not to accept her son as part of the Huston family. Even the residents of Tussand Village no longer want to recognize Clara as one of the villagers. Now, her Mother, the only person who has supported her all this time, doesn't like to acknowledge her baby as her grandson and instead slanders him, calling him a vampire. Clara felt hurt hearing this, so she could no longer hold back her tears.

"Mom's not kidding, honey. The baby is indeed a vampire. Look at his irises. They are as red as blood. His skin is also icy, and the white color of his skin is different from ours. The color is too pale. Besides that, open his mouth, and you will see his fangs," Celin said softly, unable to bear to see her daughter's sadness.

Clara widened her eyes for the umpteenth time but still followed her Mother's words. She looked closely at the face of the baby, who was still in her arms. It was true what her Mother said. The baby's irises were as red as blood. His skin was white but very pale and very cold. Her left hand's fingers trembled, but she still forced herself to touch her baby's tiny and thin lips. She slowly opened his lips and gasped as she realized the truth of her Mother's words again. The baby already has a row of neat teeth and sharp fangs in there.
