C8 CHAPTER 8: VRAK’S SOCIETY

Elektra had no idea that her future mother-in-law was scheming against her but even if she did, it wasn’t like she could change her mind and make the other like her.

Elektra lived for herself and no other person. She had lived for others for a very long time and there was no way in this life she was going to do the same mistake. Elektra was doing everything for herself this time around and no one was going to stop her.

After that shopping spree that went wrong with Hartley provoking Elektra and making things difficult for her, Elektra didn’t leave Kasper’s mansion for a while.

She had everything she needed in that mansion, so she saw no need for her to go out. She could go and watch movies in the movies room, have some popcorn and soda by the side.

When she felt like venting out, she would visit the sports arena where she could spar with some instructors there; she could go and play some tennis, basketball, go swimming in the heated swimming pool, play pool, or board games.

The good thing about rich people was that any sport could be done in any type of weather. The sports arena was covered during the winter and in other seasons, it could be opened too.

When Elektra didn’t feel like doing all that, she could go to her study which Kasper made for her to go and read something. There were several books in her study and if there wasn’t one, she wanted, she could visit the mansion library and borrow some.

When she felt like reading some romantic novels, she could buy them from the bookstores or buy them online. If she feels stuffy, she simply dropped and picked Anisha from school.

At the same time, she was busy thinking about her next story too and checking the mood of the fans. She was happy to see that she had gained more fans since she was part of the group they opened, using an account she opened a very long time ago.

Seeing how these people were eager to talk to her, she put it in her mind that she should consider opening another account, she could talk with these people and interact more.

So, she opened a new account which she named LADYFROST, and left it without a post. When all was done, she was back to her usual routine.

On the other side, the families were going crazy after receiving the invitation cards from the Murray’s madam. As a major family, all families tend to keep their ears open to hear what was happening so when these invitation cards reached some of the families in Vrak, it was chaotic.

Inside the Smith family, a young woman around the age of twenty was holding the card that was addressed to her family with a frown. It was very rare for families to hold tea banquets and even when they did it, there was always an agenda and she was asking herself what was the real motive behind this move this time?

“Arianna, what do you think is happening?” Erick, the brother asked as he looked at her sister.

“How am I supposed to know? They have been quiet for a while now, what is Murray’s matriarch trying to do?” Arianna just couldn’t get it.

They were not just two but many of them were currently in the living room pondering over this issue.

“Whatever the reason is, we will know once we go there,” the other female cousin stated and some agreed with her.

“I think that this may be a matchmaking banquet!” a certain uncle stated as he played with his beard.

The second they heard this, they all agreed with him. His statement made more sense than anything else.

“If it is like that, which Murray boy are they matchmaking?”

This was a question that drove them crazy and the family spent a lot of time trying to answer it.

In the Sinnett’s family, a certain man was looking at the ladies going crazy because of the invitation card and couldn’t help but sneer.

Tired of listening to this craziness, he decided to go out and give his friend a warning, as a friend, he didn’t want to see his friend being set up like this.

He took out his phone and a cigarette on the other side. After lighting the cigarette, he made the call. The phone rang for a while but he didn’t hang up as he was aware of how workaholic his friend was.

After a while, the phone was picked up and the two exchanged pleasantries like always.

[What is it? I want to go home so make it quick.]

Nathan was shocked to hear this, since when did this friend of his go home early? Of course, he knew that there was a child at home but even if it was like that, Kasper rarely went home early.

“It’s something very important but before I tell you that, how about you tell a friend who you are rushing to meet?” Nathan was so curious about this that the issue of the cards didn’t matter at this stage.

Kasper chuckled on the other side but decided to not divulge a lot about it, [I will introduce you to her some other time, now tell me, what is it?]

Since Kasper wasn’t saying, he decided to let go of the issue and maybe look into it himself, after all, he didn’t lack any resources, “okay then, I just wanted you to know that your mother is holding one of those matchmaking tea banquets so be on alert and make sure that your back kitchen is not on fire.”

The other side was quiet for a while and Nathan was finding this whole situation very interesting.

[I will deal with it. Let’s meet for some drinks later,] Kasper said and hung up.

Nathan wasn’t surprised to see this, he just couldn’t wait to find out whom Kasper was hiding but if Kasper were to know that he did some snooping around, he will be surely doomed.

“I am looking forward to meeting you, I wonder how our dearie will react when she hears about this?” Nathan was smiling in an eerie way; too bad no one saw.
