C4 There Was Something Even More Depressing

Mo Zhendong's face reddened with embarrassment. He glared at Mo Wanxi and commanded, "Wanxi, from now on, you will address her as Aunt Meng and her as your sister! I will not tolerate any more disrespectful names coming from you!"

Meng Lijuan had always played the role of the gentle and virtuous woman in front of Mo Zhendong. "Zhendong, if Wanxi is reluctant, let's not force her. Weiwei and I have endured enough hardship over the years; a few more days won't matter. I understand these past years haven't been easy for you either, constantly being held back by others..."

His heart stung at her words. For years, he had been the epitome of a good man, bowing and scraping before Mo Wanxi's mother, Mu Nianxue. Now that Nianxue was gone, why should he continue to swallow his pride?

Fuming, Mo Zhendong waited for Mo Wanxi. "Like it or not, Weiwei is your sister, and that's not going to change. Just so you know, she and Lijuan will soon be moving into the Mo family home to live with us!"

Meng Lijuan and Meng Weiwei exchanged glances, their eyes sparkling with delight. Moving into the Mo family villa was a dream come true for the mother and daughter.

Mo Zhendong's declaration left Mo Wanxi seething with rage. He was shamelessly planning to move his mistress and their illegitimate daughter into her home. It was utterly intolerable.

"That villa was my mother's legacy. What gives you the right to let that woman and her daughter move in? Have you no shame?"

Enraged and humiliated by her words, Mo Zhendong slapped Mo Wanxi across the face. "You insolent girl, are you trying to start a revolt?"

The sting of the slap left Mo Wanxi's cheek burning. She clutched her face, staring at Mo Zhendong in disbelief. "You hit me? For that shameless woman, you hit me?"

Mo Zhendong felt a twinge of guilt under her gaze, but recalling how Mo Wanxi had disrespected him and caused him embarrassment, he quickly reassured himself of his righteousness.

"What's the big deal if I hit you? If you keep acting so recklessly, I'll throw you out and see how you like that!"

He had intended to confront Meng Weiwei and settle accounts, but unexpectedly, he stumbled upon his father's affair. It was even more shocking to discover that for years, his father had been leading a double life, betraying both him and his mother.

Now, with his mother barely in her grave, his father had the audacity to strike him for the sake of that despicable mother-daughter duo. Mo Wanxi couldn't fathom it; tears streaming down her face, she fled.

Meng Weiwei and her daughter exchanged glances, a smug glint in their eyes as they watched Mo Wanxi take the blows.

Mo Wanxi, this is just the start. The real heartache is yet to come.

Heartbroken, Mo Wanxi walked and wept, drawing the attention of passersby.

A sleek luxury car approached slowly. The bodyguard driving caught sight of the weeping Mo Wanxi and hesitated. "Seventh Young Master, isn't that the lady from last night?"

The distinguished man in the back seat, who had been resting with his eyes closed, opened them and looked over. Seeing Mo Wanxi in tears, he frowned and instructed the driver, "Stop the car!"

As Mo Wanxi's sobs blurred her vision, a white handkerchief suddenly appeared before her.

She looked up through her tears and saw the man from last night, the one she had been with, holding the handkerchief and looking down at her condescendingly.

Fury surged within Mo Wanxi at the sight of him. "Get away from me!"

The man ignored her outburst and gently offered the handkerchief to dab her tears, asking softly, "What happened?"

"What's it to you? Have you no shame?" Mo Wanxi snapped, snatching the handkerchief and throwing it to the ground before running off in tears.

The bodyguard, concerned about Mo Wanxi's reaction to his boss, quickly exited the car and approached. "Seventh Young Master, this..."

The man's face remained impassive, not showing any sign of displeasure. He calmly picked up the discarded handkerchief and directed the bodyguard, "Let's head to the office."
