C10 You Are A Princess And Not A Prince

Dean POV

Ryan's words were echoing in my ear, that Rieka was a shapeshifter. I couldn't believe that the girl whom I loved was a shapeshifter, why did she hide her identity from me, was she playing with my heart?.

There were many questions going on in my head, why was Rieka pretending to lose her memory?.

Was she scared of me or she didn't trust me?.

Only one person could answer all of my questions, it was Rieka who could answer all of them. For that I need to find Reika.

I asked Ryan to help me find Rieka as I wanted to ask her why she played with my heart.

Ryan was my best friend. He agreed to come along with me in the woods even after knowing that these shapeshifters could be dangerous. We began to pack our things for the journey, we packed all essential items which were needed for a long journey, I decided not to return back to the village till I found Rieka. We packed food, fruits, water, clothes, food for max as he would come along with us.

"Are you sure you want to do this?", Ryan asked.

"Yes I'm 100% sure, I want to know why she betrayed me. I know Ryan, this journey will be long and dangerous. If you want you can stay back, I will leave alone", I said.

"No I will come along with you, Dean, you will need me, we both will face the obstacles which will come in our way",he added.

We packed our stuff and got ready to leave, the villagers for now we're not sacred for their lives as the king had left.

Before it got dark we headed towards the woods.

"Did you tell anyone else about Rieka?", I asked.

"No not at all, are you crazy if the villagers get to know she is a shapeshifter they would kill her, we can't let anyone know about her it's too dangerous" he added.

Ryan POV

I was scared for my friend as he was going to be killed by the king, no one dared approach the king or doubt the king's decision.

As Dean approached the king I took a few steps towards Rieka as I knew she would be devastated after Dean's death.

As I tried to approach her I saw that the whole atmosphere was filled with fog,

Riekas body began to change. It was just like magic, she shined in the fog.

She had soft white fur on her body, blue eyes. I could see pure anger in her eyes.

She looked kind of dangerous. She ran towards the king and left scars on his body.

I stood there frozen, trying to digest what I had just witnessed.

After the whole scene when everyone left to their houses with relief.

I saw that Dean was searching for someone, I knew he was searching for Rieka.

I ran towards him breathing heavily, I told him everything that I had witnessed.

Dean then told me that he would be going to find her in the woods

I told him that I would join him too, as it was too dangerous for him to leave alone in the woods

It's dark in the woods, no one knows what happens there.

Many legends say that when it is dark we should never go into the woods.

Or before getting dark we need to return home from the woods, as those who entered the woods in the dark or failed to return home before sunset never returned home.

Dean was a courageous young man, he never feared anyone.

He was a warrior.

Rieka POV

"We need to get back to our pack",my sister said.

"Yes we need to let them know that I am fine", I replied.

"They won't be happy to see you Rieka as they are unhappy with you", she added.

"Unhappy, why are they unhappy with me?", I asked.

"When we reach there you will get to know everything", she said.

After 2 hours we reached the place where I stayed.

"Rieka is back!!,

Come out everyone, Rieka has returned", the other shapeshifters yelled.

The younger shapeshifter ran towards me and hugged me,

"Rieka, finally you are back", they said with their cute little voice.

I hugged them back, "I missed yall so much little shapeshifters", I said while hugging them.

"You have finally returned Rieka", the wolf elder said to me.

She is the oldest wolf( shape shifter) in our pack.

"You should know that we are women, and women do not fight, they take care of the family",she added.

"I'm the king's daughter, so it is my duty to protect our community", I said.

"Yes no doubt you are the king's daughter, but you are not his son right?, you are the princess and not a prince, don't you know only sons take the place of their father, the daughters need to marry and take care of the household", she said with a bold voice.

"I know, but my father said, after him I would take his place", I added.

"Your father must have told you many things, Rieka but the truth is women are weaker than men, they can't fight",she said.

"It's what you are thinking, just give me a chance so that I can prove myself".

"You tried right?, But you failed, you lost your memory, it could have been even worse you could have lost your life,before dying your father told me to take care of you, you are his beloved daughter just think if anything happens to you will he forgive me, I myself will not be able to forgive myself. When u left to kill the king and didn't return, I thought we all lost you, I blamed myself. For now you have returned I won't let you do anything stupid, we are women's not warrior, that king is a Socceror, he is so powerful.

"No, we can't give you another chance to return to your cave for now, you must be very tired", she said.

They all left, leaving me and my sister alone.

"You know how they are, they won't listen to you",my sister added.

"I know that just because I am a princess, I can't sit on the throne, only males can",I replied.

"You know Rieka, we are unlucky in all the ways, but I think it is our lives, we can live the way we want,I am with you sister, I will support you in every way,I will always be by your side", my sister said.

"Thank you so much Helena, I feel so good now, it is my life, it is my duty to protect my people, and take my father's Revenge", I replied.

"That's my girl",my sister said.
