C13 You Will Protect Them Promise Me

Ryan POV

I was woken up in the morning by the sun rays hitting my face.

I had slept only for 2 hours, I prepared breakfast for me and Ryan, I had found some eggs in the sparrow's nest, so I climbed the tree and took 2 eggs from 4.

I prepared those eggs as breakfast for me and Ryan.

I woke Ryan by handing him a bowl of soup along with the egg.

"From where did you find these eggs Dean?",he asked.

"I spotted a sparrow's nest, so I climbed the tree and took two eggs from her nest, they are still not hatched, I wonder where the sparrow was, leaving her nest unprotected", I said.

"I know it's strange, sparrows never leave their nest unprotected", he replied.

"Anyways enjoy the eggs, something new for breakfast, we need to leave this place now, to find rieka", I replied.

"Hope we find her today, should we take a bath in the lake, before leaving to find her, I seriously need a bath", he replied.

"Okay fine, I will join you", I replied.

I gave a few sweet apples to Max, as he had to gain some strength for the journey.

We headed towards the lake, filled some fresh water to drink, undressed ourselves and jumped into the lake.

The water was warm as the day was sunny, we had a warm bath, dried ourselves and wore some clean clothes which we carried along with us.

"Stay alert Ryan, if we find a prey we can have that for dinner tonight, I heard that there are wild pigs in this forest along with the deers, we need to hunt the prey, try not to become the prey for some animals' food", I said to Ryan.

"Hand me the bow and arrows", Rayn said.

"We walked for 2 hours but we didn't find any trace of Rieka, I wished we knew where the shapeshifters lived", Ryan said.

"My grandma used to tell stories about them, she believed that they existed, she used to tell me that I am alive because of the shapeshifters, I never understood what she meant exactly, she told me that they live somewhere where no human could ever find them, deep into the forest", I said to Ryan.

"Your grandma believed in shapeshifters, wow, she must have seen one", he replied.

"Yeah maybe, it's said that the shapeshifters used to protect human kind, some shapeshifters are good and some are bad or even worse", I replied.

"We have already encountered one shapeshifter that is your beloved Rieka", he replied.

"I never knew that she was a shapeshifter, but the moment I touched her I found some strange connection with her, it felt like I knew her, I have been along with her, but I just don't remember anything", I replied.

"That impossible Dean, you never knew that girl nor she came to our village so it's impossible for you to know her, you just think too much or you are madly in love with her", he replied.

"Yes I am madly in love with her, she is different, the first time I saw her I fell in love with, I feel for that girl Ryan, I have never felt this way for any other girl, I can sacrifice my life for, I can do anything for her", I replied.

"I know, I know you love her, you cannot live without her that's why I am helping you to search her, so that you can clear all your doubts and we can return back to the Village, as it's too dangerous in this forest, it might take days for us to return back, as we are in the middle of the forest, this where the scary part starts, we need to be very alert, and please for now don't think about Rieka, just stay alert with the slightest voice, we need to get our weapons ready", Ryan replied.

Max was scared too, I couldn't let any of us die in this forest, I had to protect Ryan and Max, they cannot die because of me, I know I am putting their lives at risk.

I kept my bow and arrows ready, as anything could happen to us in this forest.

Rieka POV

The next day, Helena came to visit me from my window, as my aunt was not allowing her to meet me.

"What are you doing here, if my aunt gets to know that you are in my room she will get furious, you need to leave now without her knowing anything", I said to Helena.

"I am not afraid of your aunt Rieka, you know that very well, and I am not going anywhere, I am your sister, you know that we are best friends more than sisters, I cannot leave your side, and I wanted to tell you something very important", Helena said.

"What is it sister?", I asked her.

"I sensed that some humans are coming into the forest, I have a doubt that it could be your lover Dean, he brought someone along with him", she replied.

"If anyone gets to know that he is here they will kill him, if you get to know then it takes no time for the others to know", I said.

"No the shapeshifters won't know that they are here, they are too far from our place, you know that I have a power that I can sense any human who has entered the forest, I am afraid that if they enter our territory they will die a terrible death", she said.

"I need to leave, can you help me escape Helena, I know you are the only one who can help me in this situation, please I can't let anything happen to Dean, the person who he brought along with him is his best friend Ryan, he takes him along with him everywhere, they never leave each other's side, they always have each other back, just like us sister", I said to my sister.

"Okay fine sister let me think, I will soon figure out a way to get you out of here, just give me some more time", she replied.

We don't have much time sister, you need to get some idea, if I am not able to escape, you will protect them promise me sister, you will help them out, you know everything about us, please tell him everything, please tell him that I didn't mean to hurt him, I had lost my memories I had no idea that I was a shapeshifter, If I would have known about myself I would have not kept it a secret, please tell him that I love him very much", I said to Helena.

"Don't worry sister, I am not leaving you alone here, I will help you escape from this prison, you can also take your revenge from the king for killing your parents" she replied.

"I will stay with you in your room, don't worry your aunt won't know that I am here with you, your aunt hates you so much ,'' she said.

"I don't think she hates me, she just had problems with my mom", I replied.

"Noo, I don't think so, she hates you rieka, I can see that in her eyes, and you know that our eyes never lie, why does she hate you so much? '', she asked.

"Her parents made her married to an ordinary man, she wanted to marry in a royal family, she blames my mom for that, my mom had told me this, she also said that I should never trust her", I replied.

"Yes your mom is right, you should never trust her, nor do I trust her Rieka, her intention are not that good, I find her fishy, I can't trust her, she can go to any extent to destroy you Rieka, you are my responsibility not hers, I can't understand why did the older wolve didn't allow me to take your responsibility",she replied.

"That's is because you have just turned 19, you are too young to take my responsibility", I replied

"Rubbish, I know that I am too young but I can take care of you Rieka, I have taken care of you, when you were little, your mom used to leave you alone along with me when she had to travel along with king, we used to play together Rieka, I used to take care of you, so why not now", she said.

"Any ways you are coming along with me,I can't leave you alone with this witch, I can't trust her, I have thought of something", she added.

"Don't think about me Helena, I can take care of myself, you need to find them, and make sure that they are protected, don't worry about me, they are more important than me, please understand Helena", I said.

They are nothing to me Rieka, you are important not your lover, I need to keep you protected, you need to understand, it's my responsibility to take care of you, I can't leave you here alone, I don't know what's your aunts intention,but whatever it is, it is really bad, you she hated you, she can go to any extent, Helena said.

"You know what happens in this woods with the human, they need to be protected,any humans who enter ls this woods are dead, I can't put his life at risk, he come here in search of me helena, please you need to leave without me, find them and send me a message when you get to know anything about them", I replied to Helena.

"I don't know why do you bother so much for this human, you will get many people in your life who would love you more than him, he is not from a royal family nor he is a shapeshifter you know we are not allowed a marry a human, you deserve much better Rieka", she said to me.

"I don't care if he is a human, I love him, if you care about me, you need to make sure that he is safe, please Helena, do this for me, I didn't ask anything else, just protect Dean and his friend", I said.

"Okay fine sister, take care, I will make sure that he and his friend remain safe, but promise me that you take care of yourself,

Please don't trust your aunt, and don't listen to her", she said.

Authors POV

Dean was in search of Rieka for 3 days, but there was no trace of her in the forest, Dean had taken a promise that he would never return back to his village without getting his answers from Rieka, Ryan was along with Dean in his journey of finding Rieka.

I'm the other hand, Rieka was unaware that her aunt was planning to make her marry, to ruin her life.

Her aunt knew that if Rieka stayed in this village she would rule this village. Her aunt decided that if she married someone who belongs to another place, Rieka would no longer be the princess.

Helena would not be present in the village to protect her sister from her aunt, as she had to find Dean and Ryan to make sure that they are safe.

The woods are not safe for humans as no humans were left alive to tell their stories and experience in the woods, and no one knows where they disappeared and how they disappeared.

The older wolf had no idea about the cruel intentions of Reika's aunt, she was unaware that Rieka's aunt wanted her to marry an ordinary man who belongs to another place, so that she would not be able to rule like her father.

Rieka was the only heir of the king as the king had lost his son.

Rieka was the only hope of the shapeshifters.
