C18 I Will Marry A Human And Not A Shapeshifter

Ryan POV

There lay three bodies of Dead bears covered with blood, we looked at eachother, we questioned each other who must have done this, in just a few seconds that person killed both of these wild beasts.

It is impossible to kill three bears which are wild and dangerous.

We heard a female voice from behind.

When we turned we saw that there stood a beautiful young lady with a red gown, she wore a bracelet which had a carvings of a snake on her hand, it looked beautiful, she also had a charm on her neck which had the colour red on it, it looked like a gem, Rieka wore the same charm but it had the colour blue on it.

She spoke to Dean, the whole time, she told him everything about the shapeshifters, I stood and I kept listening to her, I was just staring at her beauty we villagers were nothing in front of these royal people, they had an attractive look, their skin was white as snow,they had beautiful red lips, their eyes looked beautiful and attractive, Helena had the same skin,eyes and lips like Rieka, I couldn't remove my gaze off her.

After a few minutes she told Dean that she was tired so she would rest for sometime in our tent, which we prepared for ourselves. She told me to fetch some water for her and get it fast, as she was too thirsty.

I told Dean that I am not her maid, I won't obey her orders, if we are villagers we have our dignity, we are not maids of these royal people who have the royal blood flowing through their vein, Dean told me that she is our guests we need to take care of our guests and they should not have any trouble as long as they are along with us.

I told Dean this is the last thing I will be doing for her, saying that I headed towards the lake to fetch some fresh water for Helena. The whole way I nagged about Helena, fetched some freshwater for her and headed towards the tent where she was resting, I entered the tent and placed the water near her.

I sat beside her and asked her about her charm which she had on her neck.

What does that charm do?Rieka had the same charm, but with a different color, I asked.

"This charm protects us and it makes us realise who we are, what is our true identity, this charm chooses us", she replied.

"So when you're born, this charm was on your neck", I asked her.

"No it is not present in our necks when we are born, it chooses us, when a baby is born, the baby is not born with the charm, we have the holy ones in our community, like how you villagers have the priests, we have the holy ones, they are powerful, during the baptism of our baby shapeshifter the charm chooses the baby that time, that is when the babies will have their charms", she replied.

"Okay, I have another question", I said.

Honestly I am seriously not interested in answering any of your questions. I am very tired Ryan, can I answer your questions later on?", she replied.

"Okay fine,this is the last question,please answer", I replied.

"Okay fine last question, you can ask, but this will be the last one okay", she replied.

"Okay fine", I replied.

"You can now ask your question Ryan", she added.

"What if the shapeshifter dies, what will happen to their charm, will it disappear forever, or will it be buried along with the body?", I asked her.

"Their charm, chooses its next owner, larger the owners of the charm, the powerful the charm gets, 16 years ago, there was a powerful shapeshifter, she had the power to defeat the king, but unfortunately she died of old age, we have no idea who the charm has chosen as their owner, who ever is the owner of the charm, they will possess the powers of that charm, they will be the chosen shapeshifter, but it can be anyone, the owner of that charm can also belong to some other country", she replied.

"So if you get the chosen shapeshifter, the emperor can be defeated right?", I asked her.

"Yes he can easily be defeated, but for that we need to find who is the owner of that charm, okay fine now Ryan please let me rest. I am very tired, if you want you can stay in this tent but please don't trouble '' she replied.

"Okay fine I won't trouble you, you can take some rest, do you want something to eat, I assume you are hungry too?"I asked her.

"Yes I am very hungry, but I don't wanna trouble you , you are not my slave Ryan, so it's okay, I will manage with water", she replied.

"Just a minute I will get some fresh fruits for you", I replied.

She laughed and said "are you serious"

"Why are you laughing? What is funny about that?, I asked her.

"We don't have fruits, we have animal blood and flesh, that is our food and it keeps us strong", she replied.

"Okay fine I will get animal flesh and blood, will that do?",

"Yeh it will definitely do, thank you so much Ryan", she said.

I cut some flesh from the bear's body, prepared the fire from the woods and began to cook the meat of the bear for Helena. I filled the container with the bear's blood just like she asked for.

I prepared the meat, added some spices on it for taste, and headed towards the tent.

"I brought you your meal just as you asked for, the animal's flesh and it's blood", I replied.

I placed it in front of her.

"It looks delicious, let me taste it", she replied

She took a bite of the meat.

It tastes delicious, you are a very good cook Ryan, she replied.

"I am not a good cook, I have learnt cooking techniques from Dean, he is a very good chef", I replied.

"Rieka is lucky to have her future husband to be a very good cook", she replied.

Can I ask you one more thing?, Asked her

"Not again Ryan, I am tired of answering all of your questions",she added

"No no this is the last one, I won't get peace if I don't get the answer to this question", I said.

"Okay fine you can ask your question, I don't think this question session will ever get over, you can ask ryan", she replied.

"A shapeshifter can marry a human, are they allowed to do so?", I asked her

She was silent for a moment, she sighed and replied.

"I cannot answer this question Ryan, you won't be able to handle it, but I can only tell you one thing, it is not that easy to marry as shapeshifter, you need to sacrifice some things to marry one", she replied.

"What kind of sacrifice?",I asked her.

"Ryan, do you want to marry a shapeshifter?'' she asked me.

"No I don't want to marry a shapeshifter, I will marry a human", I replied.

"Why do you wanna know to ask me this question when you want to marry one, okay?*, She replied.

I left the tent and headed towards Dean, where he was resting.

Dean was sitting near the lake staring at the fishes in it.

"Hey Dean, what are you thinking?", I akses him.

"Nothing special Ryan, I was sitting here admiring the beauty of nature, the birds chirping, the fishes swimming so peacefully, I am just hoping that Rieka show up", he replied.

"She is fine Dean, she will be here any moment, her sister Helena told you right", I replied.

"Ryan I don't even know if we can trust Helena , how can we be sure if she is Rieka's sister, even if she is her sister, we don't know if her intentions are good or bad", he replied.

"I can assure you that Helena is telling the truth, she is Rieka's sister, and she is trying to help us find her. Dean a person's tongue can tell lies but their eyes can never lie", I replied.

"How can you be so sure Ryan, if you could catch a person's lies?, why didn't you know that Rieka lied about her identity of being a shapeshifter?, He asked me.

"There can be a reason because Rieka's eyes never lied, she is innocent Dean, she will be having a valid reason,for hiding her identity", I added.

"It can also be that she is a good liar, Ryan,''he replied.

"Dean what is wrong with you, you love her right?, why are you doubting her?, She is innocent Dean, don't doubt her, you will regret this in future", I replied.

"Yes I do love her Ryan,you know that very well, I can't stop thinking about her, I'm sorry Ryan, I am just having mixed thoughts for now, I myself Don't know what am I thinking, that's why I am sitting here for a peaceful mind", he replied.

"Okay fine Dean don't think about Rieka, she will be here, I know she will come here for us, we only need to wait, Helena told me that it will take some time for her to find us, Helena could sense the scent of our blood, so it was easy for her to track us, so we need to only have a little patience", I replied.

"Yes I know we need to only wait for Rieka to find us, that is what we can do for now, come on let's prepare for dinner it is going to get dark, we need to also fetch some fresh water for the night, it is dangerous to go near the lake when it is dark, we can be a prey for any water animal",he replied.

I entered the tent and asked Helena," are you sti hungry do you want us to prepare the meal for you",

"No I am not hungry, I can help you to prepare your meal if you would like me to", she replied.

"No you just take some rest you must be tired, we don't let our guests help us prepare the meal", I replied.

"I am not your guest silly, I am going to be your friend's future sister-in-law, so now we are like family right?" She replied.

"Yes right, but Dean has not decided yet whether he should marry your sister or not, hebhas still not confessed hisnlove for Rieka, by the way you told me that it is not that easy to marry a shapeshifter right, them it will be easy for Dean too", I replied.

"Yes I do remember that, but Dean Is committed to Rieka, so it will be easy for him, I was talking about people like you, it is difficult for you to marry a shapeshifter, you have a family, Dean doesn't, he is all alone, he has nothing to lose, if you marry a shapeshifter you will lose your family you have to stay with your wife In her community, so you see it is not that easy, but you need not worry because you are not going to marry a human", she replied.

"Yes I am going to marry a human, at least better than a shapeshifter", I replied.

"You hate me right Ryan, why do you hate me so much", she replied.

"Yes I am superior Ryan, I belong to the royal family, and you are just a villager, who is covered by sand, and who stinks all the time, I wonder how my sister fell in love with a stinky man", she replied.
