C14 Chu Lin Obtained the Gold Card of Treasure Gathering Pavilion and Became a Vip of Treasure Gathe

The room was unadorned, with a handful of chairs encircling a round table. A middle-aged man sat in one of the chairs, eyes closed in contemplation. He appeared to be in his mid-fifties, his hair graying at the temples, and he exuded an air of solemnity.

Chu Lin sensed that this man's prowess likely surpassed that of Mu Hee from the Great Barbarian City. This must be Mo Gaang, the esteemed Treasure Appraisal Master of the Treasure Gathering Pavilion, whom the woman had mentioned earlier. It was no surprise that the pavilion was unchallenged with a Martial Cultivator of the Spirit Martial Stage as its guardian. Any Martial Cultivator in Black Wind Town would be foolish to provoke the pavilion's wrath.

Yet for Chu Lin, Mo Gaang's formidable presence was an advantage. The greater Mo Gaang's strength, the more adept he would be at recognizing the true worth of treasures, which meant Chu Lin's Spirit Liquid could fetch a higher price.

Chu Lin had already strategized for the possibility that his treasures might draw unwanted attention. Given Mo Gaang's caliber, the sight of such valuable Spirit Liquid would surely give him pause, making Chu Lin's task all the easier.

"Have you come to have treasures appraised?" Mo Gaang inquired, his surprise evident as he opened his eyes to Chu Lin's youthful countenance. Despite serving as the Chief Appraiser at the Treasure Gathering Pavilion for over a decade, Mo Gaang had never encountered such a young client.

"I've come to have some items appraised, though I wouldn't call them treasures," Chu Lin replied with a serene tone. He took a seat opposite Mo Gaang and set a porcelain bottle on the table.

"People in Black Wind Town are well aware that I appraise only treasures," Mo Gaang stated with a hint of pride. His reputation for strength and expertise in appraising treasures was well-earned.

"To the uninterested, my items might be worthless, but to the discerning eye, they are invaluable," Chu Lin responded, equally composed. He lifted the bottle cap halfway, and instantly, a refreshing essence permeated the room, filling it within moments.

"The Spiritual Energy is remarkably pure!" Mo Gaang exclaimed, his eyes widening in astonishment. After a moment's hesitation, he asked, "May I examine it more closely?"

"By all means," Chu Lin consented, tossing the bottle to him. Mo Gaang's reaction eased Chu Lin's mind. Recognizing the Spirit Liquid's value meant Mo Gaang would be wary of whoever stood with Chu Lin, lessening the likelihood of deceit.

"Thank you kindly," Mo Gaang expressed, his once arrogant demeanor replaced by one of earnest gravity. He caught the bottle with care, uncapped it, and inhaled the scent of the Spirit Liquid, his expression growing even more solemn.

"This Spirit Liquid's energy is exceptionally pure, perfectly suited for Martial Cultivators to assimilate and refine. Its value is comparable to two Grade One pills! Could this young man be a disciple of a prestigious figure from the Martial Academy?" Mo Gaang pondered, convinced that only a select few within the academy could produce such a liquid.

As Mo Gaang's face betrayed a myriad of thoughts, Chu Lin remained tranquil. "What would you say this bottle of Spirit Liquid is worth?" he asked with a smile, maintaining his composure. With the liquid's value confirmed, it was time to sell. Chu Lin might have felt nervous before Mo Gaang, but he masterfully concealed it, exuding only calm.

"If I'm not mistaken, this Spirit Liquid is not just a boon for Martial Cultivators' strength but also a priceless asset for any Alchemy Master. A mere drop during the alchemy process could significantly enhance a pill's success rate and quality. Whoever refined this liquid is a master of their craft," Mo Gaang praised, glancing at Chu Lin, whose pride was evident. This only solidified Mo Gaang's belief in Chu Lin's extraordinary background.

With that realization, Mo Gaang promptly produced a golden card from his sleeve and offered it to Chu Lin with reverence. "This is the Treasure Gathering Pavilion's gold card. Cardholders are esteemed VIPs, entitled to spend or withdraw gold coins at any pavilion within the South Territory. This card has a credit of fifty thousand gold coins."

Chu Lin accepted the card, concealing his inner thrill. Once the transaction concluded, he lingered, engaging Mo Gaang in light conversation. Only when he sensed that Yang Hu's shopping might be complete did he rise to depart.

As Chu Lin exited the appraisal room under Mo Gaang's watchful gaze, Xu Jiaofeng's sharp voice cut through the air. "Master Mo Gaang didn't reprimand you, I see. You're rather fortunate."

Chu Lin halted, memories of past disdain within the Mu Mansion flooding back. He fixed his gaze on the spiteful woman and spoke with firm resolve, "On what grounds do you speak? Your lack of respect for guests and your arrogance are a disgrace to the Treasure Gathering Pavilion."

Xu Jiaofeng was taken aback by the sheer force of Chu Lin's presence, instinctively retreating several steps. But she quickly regained her composure, pointing furiously at Chu Lin's nose, she snapped, "You're nothing but an orphan with no background, how dare you...?"

Out of nowhere, Xu Jiaofeng felt the sting of a slap across her face.

Chu Lin had not channeled any Spiritual Energy into the slap; it was purely the power of his arm. Still, the impact left Xu Jiaofeng's cheek swollen, marked by a vivid red handprint.

"You may insult me, but you will not disrespect my father. Say one more word, and I'll make sure you regret it," Chu Lin warned. With that, he strode out, all eyes in the room following him.

In Black Wind Town, he was the first to ever strike someone inside the Treasure Gathering Pavilion.

It wasn't until Chu Lin reached the doorway that Xu Jiaofeng snapped out of her daze. She let out a shrill scream and began pounding on the appraisal room's door, wailing, "Master Mo Gaang, you must stand up for me!"

The door swung open, and Mo Gaang emerged. Seeing Xu Jiaofeng's state, his brow furrowed in concern. "What's happened here?"

"Master Mo Gaang, that bumpkin actually had the audacity to hit me. Look at my face—it's all swollen!"

Mo Gaang's frown deepened at Xu Jiaofeng's pitiful cries, but he quickly grasped the situation.

Another resounding slap sent Xu Jiaofeng sprawling.

In the same breath, Mo Gaang's voice thundered with rage, "How dare you provoke a Gold Card VIP of the Treasure Gathering Pavilion!"

The entire hall fell into a stunned silence for a long moment, Xu Jiaofeng's sobs ceasing instantly.

In that instant, the memory of the simply dressed young man flashed through everyone's minds.

Little did they know, this unassuming youth was, in fact, a VIP of the Treasure Gathering Pavilion!
