C99 I will Follow You!
Spring roll held back his tears as he climbed onto the carriage. He looked worried as he kept looking forward. He wanted to rush back to the Imperial Residence to see what was going on.
“His Highness’s health is always good among his peers. He usually drank very little medicine. How could he suddenly faint?” He held his hand anxiously and murmured to himself, “If anything happens to His Highness, how can I face His Highness the late emperor?”
The Seventh Prince’s Imperial Residence was quiet. The candle flame crackled as Gu Jun’an sat on the bed without moving.
Gu Jun’an waited for the doctor to get up. He bowed and said, “Your Highness, there is no need to worry. His Highness the Ninth Prince is not ill. He just fainted because he was agitated. I have already found a way to cure him. He will wake up after drinking water for about two hours.”
Gu Jun’an finally came back to his senses. He waved his hand tiredly and told the doctor to leave.
Spring roll waited at the door. He took the medicine and sent the doctor out. He asked the doctor many things along the way before letting the doctor leave.
Gu Jun’an was still waiting by the bed after the medicine was fed. San Qi came in and looked at the person lying on the bed. He hesitated for a moment before he lowered his voice and said, “Your Highness, it’s time to leave.”
Spring roll bowed and said, “Your Highness should leave first. I will wait for the princess here.” She knew that she could not delay this matter.
Gu Jun’an looked down at the little girl who was still unconscious and said, “Ask Sanba to take them away first. I will leave after dawn.”
Sanba didn’t say much. He just nodded and went to do his work.
The little girl on the bed moved her eyelids and slowly opened her eyes. Then, she burst into tears.
“I want to go with you. Prince Consort, don’t leave me behind. Sob, sob, sob…” She seemed to be in the mood of fainting again.
Gu Jun’an pinched her ear and said, “You are back. Why are you crying so hard? You don’t even know your own family anymore?”
Lan Qingqian didn’t stop crying. Tears were falling down her cheeks, but she got up and looked around.
She saw that the decorations of the palace were all familiar. She stopped crying.
Gu Jun’an wiped her tears and fed her some water.
“You are so young.”
She lowered her head and held his sleeve tightly without saying anything. She was like a stupid ostrich who hid her head in the sand when she was in danger.
“How many times have I been on the battlefield? It is just a one-time thing. Why are you crying so hard?”
Lan Qingqian blinked and said in a low voice, “I used to be like that. He went to the battlefield to beat up some people and never came back.” In Lan Qingqian’s heart, she thought that there were many dangers on the battlefield. She thought that she might not be able to come back.
“Who is Ah Yu?” Her mouth always came out with weird names.
Chun Er bent down and said, “Master Ah Yu is a deputy general of Canglan. When the war stopped a few years ago, he entered the palace to be a guard. He has been in the palace for a long time and got to know His Highness. Later on, I heard that Master Ah Yu never came back after he left the army.”
Gu Jun’an lowered his eyes and saw that her hand was still trembling.
He touched her hair and said, “Even if it is dangerous, you still follow me.”
“If I follow you, I won’t be afraid of anything.” Her eyes were pure and clean.
Gu Jun’an thought for a while and said, “If you follow me, you have to be obedient.”
Lan Qingqian was stunned for a second and then she reacted. She ran into his arms and said, “Okay, okay, I will be obedient.”
She was so excited that she couldn’t control her strength and bumped into Gu Jun’an. He frowned.
Chun Er opened her mouth and said, “Your Highness, this Her Highness, she… Her Highness is young, so she won’t be able to go to the border.” Chun Er didn’t want her to go because he was afraid that there was a one in ten thousand chance that she would die.
Lan Qingqian immediately covered Gu Jun’an’s ears and said, “No, no, no, don’t listen to me!”
Chun Er said angrily, “Your Highness, you call me a bastard?” His Highness really didn’t love her.
Lan Qingqian immediately said, “I didn’t, I didn’t engrave your name on the shell of a bastard. You admitted it yourself!” She meant that Chun Er didn’t blame her.
Gu Jun An made up his mind. No one could change it.
“Chun Chan, go and pack up for your master. Ask Butler Jiang to send a message tomorrow morning. Tell him that the Ninth Princess is sick and needs to go to the mountain villa to rest for a while. She won’t go to the palace to study anymore. Remember, no one is allowed to visit her.”
Chun Chan opened his mouth and swallowed the rest of his words. He bowed and said, “Yes.”
Gu Jun An patted Lan Qing Qian’s head and said, “Can you sleep now? We’ll leave when the sun rises.”
In the dream, Lan Qing Qian didn’t know what she was dreaming about. She held the blanket tightly and her eyes were filled with tears. It was the same for the whole night.
Gu Jun An didn’t sleep well in the middle of the night. When the sun was about to rise, San Qi knocked on the door. Gu Jun An got up and found a blanket to wrap the little thing before leaving.
Lan Qing Qian was shaking and she felt weak. When she opened her eyes, she found that she was already on the carriage.
“Is the sun up? I don’t know!”
San Qi, who was driving the carriage, smiled and said, “It’s noon and the sun is shining on your butt.”
Lan Qing Qian felt it was new and she immediately got up and left the carriage. She sat next to San Qi and chattered with him.
San Qi remembered what Gu Jun An told Lan Qing Qian in her dream. He pulled the horse’s reins and looked around. He said, “Ah, you must have had a nightmare. You were crying in your dreams. You are so timid. What did you dream about?”
Lan Qingqian frowned and said, “I am not a coward. I dreamt of the husband…” She seemed to realize something and immediately stopped, “I won’t tell you!”
Heh, little girl, your mouth is pretty tight.
San Qi continued to annoy her, “Hmph, I think you are a coward and don’t dare to tell me. Coward, cry!”
“Hmph, I am a kid. Crying is normal. I won’t cry when I grow up! Don’t try to trick me!” Lan Qingqian immediately exposed San Qi’s goal.
San Qi’s heart couldn’t help but feel scared, “I, why would I trick you?”
Gu Jun’an in the carriage only heard Lan Qingqian say the word ‘husband’. Could it be that her dream had something to do with him?
He couldn’t help but frown and stared at the carriage through the curtain, “Useless thing, you can’t even trick a kid.”
San Qi drove the carriage and felt a chill down his spine. He couldn’t help but shiver.
Lan Qingqian laughed at him, “Did you get stung by a bee?”
San Qi felt that if it wasn’t for the cold king sitting in the carriage, he would definitely kill this little girl.
After getting the advantage, the little girl went into the carriage and took out a box of pastries. She even ate it by San Qi’s side. She ate it one mouthful at a time.
“This pastry is so fragrant. It is soft and sweet. It seems to be made with honey!”
San Qi knew that this little girl ate it on purpose to take revenge on him.
