C13 Who Is the Woman You Are Touching?
“Bang—”
Another loud crash! The door burst open, flooding the dim room with light. Shen Yueyin immediately looked up at the doorway and sighed with relief upon seeing the familiar face.
“Jing...”
Before she could call out the name, Kwoo Wenci yanked her into his arms, pressing a knife to her throat and covering her mouth, quickly pulling her backward.
“Don’t move!” Kwoo Wenci glanced outside the door, his hand trembling slightly, the knife nicking her delicate neck.
Jing Si’s gaze turned icy, his powerful presence almost palpable. He locked eyes with Kwoo Wenci, his voice deep and resonant like a cello, “Let her go.”
“Tell your people to leave!”
“I’m giving you three seconds to release her!”
Neither side backed down. Kwoo Wenci’s grip tightened, and blood trickled down her fair neck.
The tension was thick. Jing Si gave a slight nod to Yuan, who quietly led a small team out.
Seconds later, Yuan nodded back.
Jing Si responded, “Alright, they’re gone.”
As soon as the words left his mouth, Kwoo Wenci exhaled slightly.
But only for a moment!
“Crash—”
The window behind them shattered open with a sharp sound. Before anyone could react, the curtain was sliced by the knife, and someone swiftly rolled to their side!
Kwoo Wenci was startled, and the knife in his hand slashed downward, threatening to cut Shen Yueyin’s neck!
Shen Yueyin stomped hard on Kwoo Wenci’s foot, and Jing Si seized the moment to dart in front of her, striking Kwoo Wenci’s arm.
The knife flashed, leaving a significant cut on Jing Si’s arm!
Jing Si's cold, dark eyes narrowed with displeasure as he effortlessly scooped up Shen Yueyin. He took a couple of steps back, casting a cold glance at Kwoo Wenci, who seemed ready for another futile struggle. Jing Si spoke with an air of undeniable authority, "Has anyone ever told you whose woman you're messing with?"
Shen Yueyin's heart skipped a beat, her small, delicate hand instinctively tightening its grip. As Jing Si carried her out of the room, the sudden burst of sunlight was blinding, prompting her to bury her head into the crook of his neck.
The scent of her hair lingered around him, just as it did every morning when she lay in his arms. His deep, dark eyes clouded slightly as he placed her in the car. The warmth of her body left his embrace, leaving him with an unexpected emptiness.
Shen Yueyin's gentle eyes lifted slightly, her teeth lightly biting her lower lip as she looked at him. His arm, still bleeding from a cut, caught her attention. As he turned to leave, she instinctively grabbed the edge of his shirt and softly called his name, "Jing Si..."
Her slender fingers clutched the small piece of fabric tightly, her clear, beautiful eyes misty with unshed tears. He loathed how his heart softened at her slightest vulnerability, yet he could only resign himself to sitting beside her.
Yuan quickly brought over the first aid kit, hurriedly searching for gauze. Before she could retrieve it, Jing Si grasped her small hand, causing her to tremble slightly and look up at him in confusion.
He took out some alcohol to clean the wound on her neck, his voice low and displeased, "Don't move."
"But your hand..." she began, only to be cut off by his firm, "Don't move."
