C18 No Other Hobbies
Her earnest yet nonsensical demeanor didn’t anger Jing Si; instead, it made him want to pull her into his arms and tease her a bit.
Seeing he didn’t respond, she shamelessly continued, “Why make things difficult for others?”
“Make things difficult?” His deep voice suddenly broke the silence. “Besides this, I don’t have any other hobbies.”
With that, he straightened his clothes and opened the door to the hospital room.
Yuan, who was waiting outside, immediately approached and whispered, “Miss Yiliang won’t stop crying…”
Hearing this, Jing Si glanced at Shen Yueyin, who was nervously following him, and recalled the worried look in the little one's eyes when he left. He said, “Tell her Shen Yueyin is fine.”
“Yes, sir.”
Just as Yuan was about to leave, Jing Si motioned for him to stop. “Never mind, I’ll tell her myself.”
“Yes, sir,” Yuan replied.
Shen Yueyin looked at the two of them suspiciously, then approached with a graceful yet distant air. “I wonder if Mr. Jing would be willing to give me a ride?”
“No,” Jing Si replied coldly, not looking back as he walked forward with Yuan.
Yuan glanced back at Shen Yueyin, puzzled by their interaction.
Darn it!
Earlier, while waiting, she had seen a brochure for this hospital. The address was in the suburbs, making it hard to catch a ride, and there were hardly any passersby.
She followed them to the parking lot. When Jing Si stopped and looked at her, she softened her voice and pleaded, “Have a heart…”
The amusement in Jing Si’s eyes vanished as he opened the car door and got in. Suddenly, a small figure slipped in beside him, slammed the door shut, and said to the driver, “To the Shen family villa, please.”
The driver didn’t move, looking to Jing Si for direction, as did Yuan in the passenger seat.
Jing Si’s lips curled slightly as he calmly said, “Back to the office.”
"Yes, sir," the driver said, starting the car.
What a cheapskate!
A company is a company, but at least I can catch a cab back after getting out.
Shen Yueyin sat as far from the car door as possible, trying to create some distance between herself and Jing Si in the cramped space.
Staring out the window, she suddenly blurted out, "Jing Si, did you bring me to this hospital on purpose, hoping I'd beg you to take me back for a sense of achievement?"
Her bright eyes looked at him, blinking charmingly.
Jing Si shifted his gaze from his tablet to Shen Yueyin's face, replying coolly, "Second Miss Shen, are you still not fully awake?"
Ugh—
Shen Yueyin turned her attention back to the scenery outside the window.
Jing Si continued, "Getting so drunk on spiked drinks—only you, Second Miss Shen, could manage that."
"Enough already!" Shen Yueyin muttered under her breath, turning away to give him only her back.
Silence filled the car.
With neither Jing Si nor Shen Yueyin speaking, Yuan could only sit awkwardly in the front.
The atmosphere was tense and awkward.
It wasn't until they reached the underground parking lot of the J.Q Building that Shen Yueyin flung open the car door and quickly dashed away.
Jing Si watched her charming figure disappear, his previously gloomy mood inexplicably lifted.
"Sir, Director Lin from SKY Films has arrived," Yuan reported after hanging up the phone.
Jing Si withdrew his gaze, his demeanor instantly turning cold, and responded with a distant "Hmm," exuding an air of detachment.
