C15 Refunding the Storm
When Su Yunchuan returned with two more books, she saw her little brother, whose eyes had instantly widened in excitement, rushing over to take the books and read them with great interest.
However, not long after, the child's expression became somewhat interesting. Su Mengchuang raised his head with a puzzled expression and looked at his sister's meaningful gaze. He asked in a daze, "Sister, I don't understand what's on it."
Su Yunchuan raised her eyebrows and looked at Su Mengchuang strangely. In Su Yunchuan's memory, her little brother had been very intelligent since he was young. How could he not even know such a simple thing? Moreover, he had agreed with the boss about this book, so he naturally picked one that Su Mengchuang could understand and took it. Su Yunchuan frowned, then walked up to take the book from Su Mengchuang's hands and started flipping through it.
"Eh, I think... I took the wrong book." The more Su Yunchuan read, the more she felt that something was wrong, especially when she saw that there was a line of small words at the end of the book. Su Yunchuan was sure that she must have taken the wrong book.
Su Mengchuang tilted his head and looked at his sister with disdain. How could she do such a simple thing wrong? His sister was so stupid!
"Alright, don't look at me like that. I'll go and read it again for you. Isn't it just a book?" Su Yunchuan laughed and laughed. Although Su Mengchuang did not say anything, he was not a fool. He could clearly see the meaning behind Su Mengchuang's gaze. If it wasn't for her good temper and the fact that it was indeed his fault, Su Yunchuan would have definitely taught this little brat a lesson.
Su Mengchuang lowered his head. After a while, he suddenly raised his head and looked at his sister nervously. He said softly, "Sister, I want to go with you."
In fact, although he said that, Su Mengchuang's heart was simple. He felt that his sister might mess up this matter again.
How could Su Yunchuan not understand what her brother meant? She immediately smiled awkwardly at the person in front of her and said, "Don't worry, I'll go alone. There are too many adults there."
Su Mengchuang looked at the person in front of him suspiciously, making sure that Su Yunchuan was telling the truth. Only then did he heave a sigh of relief. He nodded relaxedly and said, "Alright, then I'll believe you for the last time, sister. If you do something wrong this time, I really won't believe you anymore!"
Su Mengchuang still had the leisure to threaten his sister, but looking at Su Mengchuang's appearance, Su Yunchuan's heart was a mess. How could she remember that her brother was warning her with these words? She just kept answering and taking both books away.
"Scholar, this thing doesn't seem to be the same as what I want, right?" Looking at the scholar in front of her who was dressed decently, Su Yunchuan curled her lips and shook the book in her hand as if she was helpless.
Seeing that Su Yunchuan had returned, how could the scholar not know what had happened? However, the scholar still pretended as if nothing had happened. He looked at the woman in front of him with a blank expression and said, "Miss, is there something wrong? If there's something, we can talk about it later. I'm still a little busy here."
The scholar pointed at the people around him and naturally held back all the words that Su Yunchuan had yet to say. Su Yunchuan was naturally unconvinced, so she curled her lips and slowly walked in front of the person in front of her. She frowned and said, "I want to return this thing. There's no reason to return it in seven days. It shouldn't be a problem, right?"
The signal that Su Yunchuan received in modern society was that as long as she was not satisfied with something, she could refund it. It was a trial period of at least seven days, but the scholar in front of her looked at Su Yunchuan strangely. After a long while, he sighed and said, "Miss, we have already sold our things here, so there is no way we can refund them. How can there be a rule of seven days without a reason? "
Hearing the scholar's words, Su Yunchuan became a little anxious. Not to mention anything else, these things were not what she wanted in the first place, and it was this scholar who took the two books away by mistake.
"But we can't use this thing. My child is still young. He won't be able to understand these things." Su Yunchuan argued.
However, the scholar didn't want to be outdone by her. He said sarcastically, "It is good that you want it, young lady. If you have seen it, it is yours. If you can return it, everybody will do the same thing as you. How am I going to do my business?"
Hearing the scholar's words, Su Yunchuan didn't know what to say. Logically speaking, she should have retorted, but she really didn't know where to start.
After all, there was still a huge difference between the ancient living environment and the modern world. For example, modern books would have a layer of plastic film on the outside, so that they could be returned. But in ancient times, Su Yunchuan had to admit that she had no way of proving whether she had bought the right thing or not. If she really said what she said, it would be unfair to the person in front of her.
"But I didn't order it, and I didn't write the words on it." Su Yunchuan really could not think of any reason, so she could only hold onto the mentality that the person in front of her was selling piracy.
"So what, girl?" The scholar sat at the side, as if whatever Su Yunchuan said had nothing to do with him. He just had to sit there silently and watch him talk. In any case, as long as she refused to let go, there was nothing Su Yunchuan could do about him.
"This book... It seems to be mine?" While Su Yunchuan was arguing with the boss, a suspicious voice came from behind her. Su Yunchuan turned her head and saw that the person was tall and thin. She thought that there was no need to lie, so she walked over hesitantly, handed over the book in her hand, and asked, "You said this book is yours?"
Su Yunchuan's voice was not loud, but it was loud enough for the man to hear clearly. The man took the book and flipped through it carefully. Then he nodded affirmatively and said, "Yes, it's mine. There's a note written by me behind it! But, Miss, why is this book with you?"
When Su Yunchuan heard this, she shook her head even more weakly and said, "Forget it, since it's yours, then you should keep it well. I don't have to worry about how to deal with this book anymore."
