Under the astonished gaze of Nie Changfeng and Helen, a huge robot sat up. It was over ten meters tall and its eyes were like big searchlights.

"Your curiosity is too great, can't I even feign death? You must tear me apart! " The robot spoke in a muffled voice, its tone full of gloom.

Nie Changfeng scratched his head. He felt that the piece of smooth metal was the armor on the back of the robot. No wonder it looked so strange.

"It's too obvious that you're just crawling on the ground and playing dead." Helen laughed. She thought the robot was interesting and not hostile to them.

The robot said with grievance, "I have no other choice. When I found you all, it was already too late. This ground is too hard, so I can't even drill into it."

"Why are you here in the wilderness? Where's your master? " Nie Changfeng asked.

"What master do I have? I'm running for my life. That tyrant of Galatos wants to kill us all. He sacrificed himself to buy us time to escape …"

It turned out that this robot wasn't an artificial product, it was a native intelligent life form in this metal world. Before the world was created, they had built a huge mechanical civilization and controlled thousands of nearby galaxies that were like the solar system.

Gallatus was the home planet of this automaton civilization, and although he suffered greatly from the great calamity that split heaven and earth, he was still able to maintain his overall structure, and was mostly buried in the new continent.

However, the other metal resource planets that they had controlled had all collapsed in the disaster, because of some unknown reason. They merged with the metal resource planets in the new world, forming this metal world.

The surviving mechanical life forms were divided into three factions due to their different ideologies in the process of rebuilding civilization.

The most powerful faction was the dictatorship led by the tyrant, who believed that a strong dictatorship was the way out for civilization, and the liberals, led by the prophet, who pursued a free development under the rule of law.

The majority were the neutral faction. They did not have any leaders, and whoever was strong would listen to them. They were the fence-sitters that any intelligent life would not lack.

The liberal prophets have fallen, and their leaders are now the guardians of the Prophet's legacy.

When the tyrant launched the coup in Galatos, the liberals lost. They relied on the Prophet's sacrifice to gain the chance to escape, and then, under the lead of the guards, they hid and gathered their strength, waiting for the opportunity to launch a counterattack.

The big guy Nie Changfeng met was called Bronze Hammer. He had once separated from the rest of the group during a battle and had to hide by himself from the autocrats. In the end, he met Princess Helen, who wanted to take him down.

The moment the mechanical lifeform was born, it became a true Immortal. Unless one had that power, it was impossible for them to survive in this world. Without a cultivation system, all of their growth in power would depend on equipment, modules, and improved software.

Their software was not written by others, but was something each life could learn from, and then edit and modify their own programs. As a result, the automaton race had all sorts of strange and ununiformly shaped software.

The automaton race's cultivation was essentially programming. The higher the person's level, the stronger they could become. Of course, they could also use the program provided by others, but the risk was always quite high.

A sense of familiarity arose in Nie Changfeng's heart. This was clearly a world of cypress. Before the destruction of Earth, he was already a veteran cybrid.

He was extremely interested in mechanical life, and he wanted to immediately break this guy in front of him to study him. However, he was not a mad scientist, so he couldn't kill another intelligent life without any reason, especially if they didn't have any ill intentions towards him.

"The difference between our appearances and yours is so great, aren't you even a little surprised when you see us?" Helen asked Bronze Hammer curiously.

Copper Hammer said, "There are too many humans in the universe. The world we live in already has many humans, and I also have many human friends. What's so strange about that?"

Humans had been living in the world of machinery for a long time, but because they did not have any powerful strength to back them up, they became second class citizens and could only survive under the protection of mechanical life forms.

Although the humans here were born with the strength of true Immortals, they had no methods of cultivation. They could only be true Immortals for their entire lives, and even though they had the vitality of true Immortals, they didn't have the limitless lifespan of true Immortals.

No human True Immortal was more than just a mortal amongst the mechanical civilizations. No human could live past three hundred years of age, and every single mechanical life form, even if they were only True Immortal level experts, would in theory never die as long as they weren't dealt a fatal blow.

Copper Hammer sighed and said, "However, if we fail, the humans in this world will be in danger. The authoritarian Faction is very xenophobic. They have always advocated the killing of all non-mechanical life forms, unlike us who advocate for peaceful coexistence and development among different races."

It was impossible to tell how strong they were just by looking at their appearance. Nie Changfeng had a brief contest with Copper Hammer and discovered that his strength was barely enough to be on par with the Emperor. After which, he estimated that Tyrant and the Protectors were around the strength of the Sub-Sage and felt completely at ease.

"I have never seen a human as powerful as you. Are you willing to help us?"

"I've also never seen a robot as powerful as you. Your views are the same as mine, I'm willing to help you, and you also said that Tyrant wants to kill all non-mechanical life forms. I definitely can't let him be killed, he is destined to be the enemy."

Brass Hammer was just a little pawn. He didn't have the power to decide the alliance between the Freedom Sect and Nie Changfeng. Therefore, he brought him to search for the missing team. Only by finding a guard could he decide whether to ally with this powerful human.

Mechanical lifeforms had their own communication method. However, their communication distance was limited and they would be discovered by the enemy, so the return of Copper Hammer was extremely careful.

"The Guardian said that if he was separated, he would come here to find the message he left behind." The copper hammer brought Nie Changfeng to a hidden valley.

"Hey, did I see wrong?" Is that a mechanical rabbit? " Helen exclaimed.

"Heavens, this plant also looks like a machine!"

In this canyon, Nie Changfeng finally saw the natural life forms of the metal world. These low level life forms didn't have intelligence, because the environment of the metal world looked like this.

"Are mechanical rabbits supposed to mate and reproduce?" Nie Changfeng asked.

Copper Hammer shook his head. "Mechanical lifeforms don't have the concept of mating. The reproduction of our life is called replication. Intelligent lifeforms will actively create components that meet the requirements for replication and then replicate their own knowledge base. These components will have a chance to produce a soul and consciousness, thus becoming new life."

"Living beings without intelligence rely on instinct to search for naturally formed metal components to replicate. This is a fortuitous opportunity that cannot be sought for."

"There is an inherited relationship between the new life and the life being copied, which forms the seniority within the mechanical civilization. But we all grew up on our own, and we didn't have the problem of aging either, so seniority doesn't really mean much to us."

Nie Changfeng and Princess Helen sighed and said, "The world is so big. There's nothing that's too bizarre about it!"
