C7 Chapter Seven

I could smell the rain outside; I grimaced in response and then held my hands over my ears. It was not that I was afraid of rain but.. I always felt like it was an ill omen.

I was pulled into Leo’s warm chest, as I trembled at the sound of the downpour.

‘Hey, what is wrong sweetheart?’. He peeled my face off his chest, eying me confused.

‘It is stupid’. I muttered sadly.

‘Try me’. He smiled.

I sighed, still shaking.

He muttered something that I did not quite catch and he threw me under the covers with him.

‘Better?’. He chuckled pulling me even closer, on top of him.

I blushed slightly and he gave me a big wide smile. It was funny.. I had been staying at his Clan House for over a month and yet we did not ever get closer than we were right now. I like that he is a patient man. He is nowhere near as full on as Alex, he is so sweet and considerate whereas Alex was too forceful. I definitely stood by my decision to be with him.

Now I did not want to talk about my fears.. I wanted to be happy with Leo.

I grinned mischievously and ran my nails up his chest; he let out a groan of pleasure when I ran my nails back down stopping only at his lower stomach. I saw his pupils dilate and change colour, as I am sure mine had too.

‘You drive me crazy’. He muttered, as he sat up and licked my neck.

He deliberately licked my neck slowly, teasingly, which made me moan loudly in response to the pleasure that I felt, feeling his warm tongue slide along my hot flushed skin.

I covered my mouth in embarrassment and he laughed and winked at me happily.

We both knew that we wanted more.. but we have agreed to take things slowly. Which only made the teasing so much worse.

‘Are you hungry?’. I muttered, trying to change the topic before my body threatened to give in.

He let out the loudest chuckle I had ever heard, as he raised his eyebrows and smirked, knowingly at me.

He enjoyed the teasing.. I guess I did too… a little bit.

I winced as he threw open the covers and I saw it was still pouring down outside.

‘You should have been a Werecat, being scared of rain’. He laughed jokingly.

I grinned mischievously; as I threw his tee shirt I had been wearing to the floor, now I was wearing nothing but pants underneath. His jaw practically fell to the floor, in shock. His cheeks were now flushed a deep red, as he blushed profusely.

I have no idea where I gained that courage; I laughed as I picked up my bra and my dress, which I had worn previously off of the floor and threw them back on.

He pushed me up against the door, before I could leave.

‘You are a very dangerous, woman’. He growled, frustration clear in his voice.

‘Is that all you have to say?’. I bit his ear, whilst giggling uncontrollably.

‘You have a nice pair’. He winked mischievously, as he ran into the Bathroom.

I laughed in response.

I knew all to well how difficult restraint was for him, even his scent smelt of frustration.

But I was enjoying discovering how long our teasing would last before we gave in and when we did, it would feel so much more worth waiting for.

I stopped off in my Bedroom to find a new outfit before heading downstairs to see what the Clan needed food wise. It was the weekly shopping day.

Allie was kissing Lacey in front of everybody and they did not seem to care.

I laughed.

‘Get a room’.

‘We have two’. Allie winked.

The two males left eating their breakfast, were eying Lacey out of jealousy… most of the males in the Clan fancied Allie.

I sighed, in awkwardness.

‘What is on the list today?’. I smiled, in the hope that I could pull their eyes away.

They regarded me cooly; I frowned slightly in response.

Nobody thought I was any good for Leo because we were so different.. a similar way in which that they regarded Lacey.

‘Do we have a problem here?’. Leo stood in the doorway arms crossed, scowling at his Clan members.

They put their heads to the floor in acknowledgement, to his authority.

‘Leo.. it is fine’. I murmured, as neutrally as I could muster.

I was trying my best to give Leo a fake smile, but I knew it was not working.

‘Manners should not be ignored just because they are being assholes’. He snapped towards them angrily.

I walked over to him and smiled.

‘Looking good babe’. I winked, checking him out, attempting to calm him down.

His hair was damp and was curling at the ends; he wore a forest green shirt with tight navy blue jeans.

He always looked fresh, but he was no longer frustrated. I chuckled a little inside, knowing exactly what he had got up to in the shower.

‘That does not mean I am forgetting their rude display, beautiful’. He muttered, still annoyed.

I hung off his hip and gave him a big kiss on the cheek.

‘I said it was fine’.

‘Well I am not’. He grumbled in response. And then he scowled at the two males again.

‘Sorry’. They both murmured, avoiding Leo’s gaze.

‘Sorry? Then answer my girlfriends question, idiot’. Leo snapped.

I blushed a deep red, as I eyed him cautiously. His girlfriend.. he had not actually called me that before.

He scratched the short side of his hair awkwardly, realising what he had just said.

‘The shopping list is on the fridge, on the magnet’. The furthest male from us muttered, in an uncomfortable tone.

I widened my eyes in shock. He actually spoke… they had not spoke to me once during the whole month I had been staying here. I did not even know their names.

Leo regarded him cooly while they both walked away, leaving the house.

‘Uh.. thank you!’. I shouted.

Leo groaned in annoyance, leaning his head on my shoulder.

‘I really hate being a Leader’.

‘Ah, but you are my big brave Clan Leader’. I grinned.

He blushed a slight red, as he chuckled and brought his lips to my neck.

‘Very tempting, tell me, do you want me to carry you back up to my Bedroom?’. He spoke in a flirtatious tone and smirked, as he noticed my face flush red.

He was hinting that he would carry me to his room and we would finally give into our lust by having sex. It was definitely my turn to blush deeply.

I giggled in response.

‘Oh, just get a room and get it over with already, you are both acting ridiculous’. Allie grimaced at us.

Lacey laughed and winked at me.

‘I think it is cute’.

All of us began laughing after that.

Leo smiled at me and spoke pleased.

‘Do you want me to come with you today?’.

‘No, I have some other things to get’. I forcibly acted embarrassed.

‘Lovely’. He laughed, wrinkling his nose.

Male Shifters always grossed out at the mention of periods. Lacey and Allie nodded all knowing though, they were the ones I often talked with.

In truth, I was visiting Alex’s Pack, I also did their weekly shopping too. It was my bit back to them.. I was still a member and I could not just abandon them.

Kane let me in the minute I knocked on the door, he greeted me with a big grin and a hug.

‘Are you guys that low on food?’. I teased.

He laughed and poked me in the ribs.

‘Bailey and I picked it up yesterday hun, but we have missed you’.

I frowned.

‘But.. that is my job’.

He sighed.

‘Bailey ate too much food because of her hormones.. sorry’.

It was not like I could blame her.. she was pregnant after all.

I sat down on the sofa with Kane.

‘Speaking of Bailey.. how is the pregnancy coming along?’. I grinned.

It had taken a long time to just be accepted by Kane let alone other members of the Pack. It made me feel like I had a safe place to run to, if I ever needed it.

‘I am worried she is eating too much and is going to pile on the pounds’. He joked teasingly.

I stared at him awkwardly.. Bailey was behind him, about to sneak up on him. And now she had the angriest look on her face.

I could not help but start laughing.

Kane got the biggest whack on the back of his head; he groaned in agony, as the dull thud was heard echoing throughout the room.

He winced in response.

‘You could have warned me’.

Bailey grinned at me and plodded over to my side, hanging off my shoulders embracing me.

‘I missed you so bloody much.. do you see the shit I have to deal with?’.

I laughed and hugged her back.

‘I missed you too! Besides a bit of fat is good for us’. I winked.

She rolled her eyes.

‘Assholes, I am not fat!!’. She growled.

‘Just a little chunky’. Alex laughed playing along, stood in the corridor with a cup of coffee.

Bailey grimaced and walked away stomping her feet, as Kane laughed and ran after her.

Freya was closely behind Alex with messy hair. I laughed. They were still sleeping together.

Freya ignored my look of disapproval.. Alex just was not a one girl kind of man. She was not the only member he was sleeping with in The Pack.

She scratched her head a little.

‘I missed you babe’. She muttered sadly, as she gave me a squeezing hug.

Alex regarded us slowly and grinned mischievously.

‘You know, I am into threesomes’. He winked flirtatiously.

I grimaced in response and Freya laughed nervously, whilst fiddling with a loose strand of her hair.

‘I would not mind’.

I grimaced at them both, as they burst into laughter.

‘You both are disgusting’. I muttered.

Alex laughed and Freya shrugged, as she wandered over to make coffee.

Freya did not talk to me much anymore. I think it was because she knew Alex liked me, even if the feelings were not mutual, well not completely. It still made her jealous.

‘Do you mind if I have a chat with Freya quick?’. I smiled.

‘Scar, I uh.. could do with a chat with you actually’. He smiled awkwardly, as he looked at my reaction.

I sighed. This was about me and Leo.. I could feel it.

‘Give me ten minutes, please’. I muttered.

Alex nodded, as he began walking over to his Office.

I walked up to Freya and smiled awkwardly, despite her fake smile at me I tried my best.

‘Freya, could I get some coffee?’. I smiled happily.

She scoffed at me in response.

‘Do you not know how to make it?’

‘Humour me’. I grinned.

I sighed.

‘Look, Alex is all yours, I am with Leo.. you know that’.

She rolled her eyes and then scowled at me.

‘Then stop coming here, like a fucking lost puppy’. She snapped.

I walked into Alex’s Office and regarded him awkwardly, as he sat on his desk and I sat on his chair.

‘Everything okay with you two?’. He muttered with a frown on his face.

I glared at him.

‘Me and Leo are not your concern’.

He laughed.

‘I meant you and Freya, Scar’.

I sighed.

‘She hates me because she thinks I am going to steal you away from her’.

He raised his eyebrows and grinned.

‘You could very easily. I will not deny my attraction to you. I would even date you in public’. He had such a flirtatious look on his face, as he winked at me.

I winced at his straightforwardness.

‘I only have feelings for Leo’.

He shrugged with a slight disappointed expression on his face.

‘What did you want to talk to me about?’. I sighed.

‘Straight to business as usual, hun’. He winked, but soon laughed at my facial expression.

He paused, as I glared at him.

‘It is about my war with Leo’. He muttered.

I gasped.. and felt the blood drain from my face.

‘Y-es?’. I looked down sadly. Was this the moment I had to pick him or The Pack?

I sighed.

Alex laughed and ruffled my hair.

‘I know how you feel about him. I would never make you choose a side, hun’.

I went wide eyed.

‘Then what?’. I glared slightly.

He cleared his throat.

‘You are in the middle, I was hoping you would ask Leo to meet with me when it is convenient. With his brother on the war path, we need to have a stable alliance, or at least we need to be neutral towards each other. He spoke with a smile.

I could not believe what I was hearing from him. This really was good. I smiled and nodded.

‘I will ask him when I finish my work’.

As I was leaving the house, Alex called out again.

‘Do not be a stranger, ok? Visit whenever you fancy it’.

I smiled in response.

‘Of course, Alex’.

He walked me back to the Front Door and then he pulled me into a hug and then ruffled my hair whilst laughing. I scowled before everybody ran out and threw me in hugs too.

It was such a sweet moment.

I felt like I was being followed, the minute I entered the Supermarket.

I grabbed the shopping, as quickly as I could. I was hoping that they would just leave me alone.

I had hoped Leo’s brother or my stepbrother had given up on me and would let me live my life.

To be fair, I actually hoped it was not my brother because if it was I would not stand a chance.

I actually felt afraid; shivers went up my back.

I grabbed my mobile phone, as quickly as I could muster.

‘Leo? I.. think I am being followed.. it might be him again’.

‘Scar? Shit.. get back as fast as you can.. I am on my way!’. He shouted down the phone, in a panicked voice.

I would have said more but my phone was snatched from my grasp.

I felt a horrible pain in the back of my head, despite attempting to fight my attacker off.

I felt a wet substance over my face with a disgusting scent, before losing my vision completely and everything fading to black.

Leo abruptly pushed his phone away into the pocket of his skinny jeans and ran out of the Office signalling his Clan members, with an urgent look. They ran out of the Clan House together and were ready for a fight.

By the time that I got to the Supermarket with my Clan members, we saw four bags spilling out food onto the path outside.

Scar’s scent was very faint, I knew Lorenzo had her because I also smelt his scent. My members did not even look at me.. they knew I would be likely to lash out in my anger at them.

‘Go and circle our border line, this is an attack from my eldest brother’. I winced at the thought of him having my girlfriend, as my Clan members ran off into groups of twos in all different directions.

I ran back to my house and grabbed one of her worn shirts from her laundry basket, and practically flew out the door rushing to Alexander’s territory.

I ran as fast as I could to The Bayou Pack House and to my surprise I was let into the house.

The member looked friendly enough, but I did not care for pleasantries right now.

‘Good afternoon Leonard, Scar is not here, I am Kane by the way’. He grinned politely.

I grabbed him by the throat and found myself surrounded by snarling friends of his.

‘I do not give two shits about who you are, I need to see Alexander, urgently’. I glared at all of them.

I heard clapping in the entrance of a doorway and could smell the scent of Alexander.

I grimaced, as I released my hold on Kane’s throat.

Alexander looked at his members cooly.

‘I am good here, leave us’. He muttered.

I scowled at the power play in his eyes.

‘To what do I owe your unfortunate company, I mean I know I had a talk to Scar about meeting with you but I did not mean right now today’. He spoke in a sarcastic tone.

‘Scar has been taken by Lorenzo. I have no idea what meeting you are talking about’. I snapped.

Alex frowned.

‘Hold up, she was literally here an hour ago’.

I grimaced in response. Scar has been lying to me, probably for a while now about not coming back here. I sighed sadly.

‘Well she has been abducted, so use your weird tracking abilities and find her’. I snapped.

Alex regarded me just as menacingly.

‘Watch your tongue, Leopard’.

I grimaced, forcing myself to lower my head slightly in apology.

‘Please, Alexander. I do not care about our issues, just help me find her’. I looked to the floor sadly and he simply nodded in response.
