C8 Just and Honest

Looking at the little girl sleeping peacefully in his arms, Jing Chen's eyes flashed with a profound meaning that he couldn't understand.

The little girl shrank her small body in an extremely insecure manner. Her small hands were half-held in her arms, protecting her heart. The feeling of her small face being covered in meat powder made him want to pinch her.

She was only ten years old, yet she was so tender and lovable. It could almost make people think of her stunning appearance after she had grown up. At that time, she would definitely attract a group of people to turn back when she walked on the streets.

When he thought of this, Jing Chen felt a little uncomfortable. However, he did not know where she came from. His gaze only became deeper and deeper.

When his gaze landed on the pair of small hands, he thought of the soft and tender feeling and unconsciously extended his large hands to grab them.

The soft and fleshy hands were in his palm. The small hands seemed to be able to crush him with a little bit of force, and the soft hands seemed to enter his heart.

His mind unconsciously thought of those crafty and intelligent eyes. They looked so harmless. Who would have thought that there would be such a fierce look in them?

He could not help but wonder where this girl came from. Could she be the destined person mentioned by his master?

But she is also so young...

Since he couldn't figure it out, Jing Chen didn't think about it anymore. He just waited for the day when he would go back and ask for clarification.

So he hugged the small body in his arms and closed his eyes to sleep.

Not long after he closed his eyes, Jing Chen suddenly opened his black eyes. He lowered his head to look at the little girl. He got up, tucked the corner of the blanket, and walked to the door. He opened the door and looked at the stunned Battalion Commander Luh with an indifferent expression.

"Why are you here?" Battalion Commander Luh was a little stunned, "You brought the little girl here?"

Jing Chen did not say anything. He nodded and turned to the side to make a path.

Battalion Commander Luh saw this and held his forehead, speechless. "I thought you sent her back. Master Zang still cares about me asking for her. I even said where you took her to. You actually sent her to my side."

Who knew what he was feeling when Master Zang asked him to bring him back? He was afraid that Jing Chen would send him somewhere and cause trouble.

Fortunately, he was fine.

Battalion Commander Luh entered the room, but before he could do anything, he received a cold stare from someone. He touched the tip of his nose for some reason and started to think about when he should send this person away. He had seen so many storms and waves, yet he was still afraid of the eyes of a twenty year old young man. This was too damaging to his prestige. How was he going to discipline soldiers in the future?

Jing Chen did not wake the little girl up. He only carefully picked her up and covered her tightly with his hands and feet, not revealing her. Only then did he walk out.

This scene frightened Battalion Commander Luh. He quickly slipped into the room to isolate the scene.

When Jing Chen found Master Zang and the others, they were still looking for Zang Mei. They only relaxed when they saw the little girl sleeping in his arms. Then they started to scold the little girl for being heartless.

Jing Chen woke her up. The little girl half-closed her eyes and rubbed in his arms. Then, she realized something. Her little body stiffened, and the sleepiness in her body disappeared in an instant. She quickly scanned her surroundings and then raised her shocked eyes to stare at his bottomless black eyes.

This man couldn't have carried her all the way here, right?

She actually didn't wake up from such a huge commotion?

Seeing her stunned face, Master Zang patted her head in annoyance. "You're awake and you're still being carried? Don't you feel ashamed?"

When Master Zang mentioned this, Zang Mei finally reacted. She took off Jing Chen's clothes, kicked her legs, and climbed down by herself. She quickly stood beside Zang Wan, and the series of actions made Master Zang click his tongue.

"Hey, little girl, why do you look like a monkey?" She turned her head and looked at Jing Chen, "I'll have to trouble you to take care of her."

Jing Chen smiled and shook his head. "Uncle Zang is too polite. This little girl is very obedient."

The word very clearly was clearly said. His gaze even had a faint smile as he looked over, making Zang Mei feel inexplicably guilty.

Why was she feeling guilty? She did not do anything!

The little girl had gone through everything that had happened today. She felt that it was very normal and did not do anything that made her feel guilty.

No one would believe Jing Chen even if he told them about the shooting. After all, she was just a child.

With this thought, Zang Mei became calm. She raised her chin and looked back at him with a proud expression. That gaze was clearly transmitting a message: I am a child and I do not know anything. It is best that you do not act up.

Jing Chen could not help but raise his lips when he saw her small face. It was just that the arc was very small and almost no one noticed it.
