C10 The Unspoken Truth

After Maya settled into the house, the group continued to discuss their plan to find Faith. Hailey, Daemon, Savage, Jake, Babushka, and Maya sat around the living room, strategizing.

Hailey took the lead, "Alright, we know that Faith is a high-level member of the organization, so she's not going to be easy to find. We need to think outside the box here."

Daemon nodded in agreement, "Yeah, and we need to be careful not to draw attention to ourselves. If we start asking too many questions, it could raise suspicions."

Savage chimed in, "Maybe we can use some of our connections to gather information discreetly. I have a friend who's pretty well-connected in the underworld. I could ask him if he's heard anything."

Jake nodded, "That's a good idea. And maybe we can also try to gather information from the people Faith is associated with. See if anyone knows anything about her whereabouts."

Babushka added, "And don't forget about surveillance. We can keep an eye on the places where we think she might be."

Maya spoke up, "What about her social media? Does she have any accounts that we could use to track her down?"

Hailey nodded, "Good thinking. We'll need to be careful, though. We don't want to tip her off that we're looking for her."

The group continued to brainstorm, discussing various strategies and tactics they could use to find Faith. Maya sat back and listened, impressed by their dedication and determination.

As they wrapped up their discussion, Hailey turned to Maya, "Thanks for your input, Maya. We're glad to have you on board."

Maya smiled, "No problem. I'm happy to help in any way I can."

The group was gathered in the living room, discussing their plans to find Faith. Maya asked the question that was on everyone's mind, "Do we even know if Faith wants to be found?"

Hailey looked at her, her expression thoughtful. "That's a good point. We don't know if she's hiding from us, or if she genuinely wants to be left alone."

Babushka spoke up next. "We could hire a private investigator to find her. That way, we won't have to worry about invading her privacy if she really doesn't want to be found."

Jake chimed in, "But what if we find her, and she doesn't want to talk to us? It could be a waste of time and money."

Daemon had been quiet up until now, his brows furrowed as he contemplated Maya's question. He leaned forward, resting his elbows on his knees, and finally spoke up.

"I've been thinking about that too," Daemon admitted, his voice tinged with uncertainty. "Ever since Faith left, I've been questioning everything. Our relationship, my choices... I don't even know if she wants to see me again."

Savage glanced at Daemon, concern evident in his eyes. "You're right, mate. We can't assume anything. We have to be prepared for the possibility that she doesn't want to be found, or worse, she doesn't want anything to do with us."

Maya looked at Daemon sympathetically, understanding the weight of his words. "Maybe it's time to confront those feelings, Daemon. Ask yourself if finding Faith is truly what you want or if you're holding onto something that might not be meant to be."

Daemon sighed heavily, his conflicted emotions evident. "You're right, Maya. I need to face the truth, no matter how difficult it may be. Faith and I had something special, but maybe it's time for me to let go and move on."

Hailey reached out and placed a comforting hand on Daemon's arm. "We're here for you, Daemon. Whatever you decide, we'll support you. We'll find Faith if she wants to be found, but we won't force anything."

The room fell into a reflective silence as each member of the group absorbed Daemon's words. The uncertainty hung in the air, but they knew they had to tread carefully. Their mission to find Faith had taken on a new layer of complexity, with Daemon's own doubts now mingling with their objectives.

As they sat besides each other in the living room, the weight of their individual struggles settled upon them. They knew that their journey to find Faith would not only be about locating her physically but also about finding their own truths and finding peace within themselves.

The group falls into a contemplative silence as they digest Daemon's words. Maya breaks the silence, "Daemon, do you think your feelings for Faith are clouding your judgment?"

Daemon looks up at her, surprised. "What do you mean?"

"I mean, do you think that maybe you're so focused on finding Faith because you still have feelings for her?" Maya clarifies.

Daemon shakes his head, "No, I don't think that's it. I just think it's important that we find her and make sure she's safe."

Hailey chimes in, "But why do you think she's in danger? Did she mention anything to you before they took her?"

Daemon looks down at his hands, "No, she didn't say anything specific. But I just have this feeling, you know?"

Savage scoffs, "A feeling? Come on, man. You're letting your emotions get the best of you."

Daemon bristles at the comment. "I'm not just being emotional, Savage. There's something going on here, and we need to figure out what it is."

Babushka interjects, "Maybe we should start by looking into Faith's past. Did she have any places she would go to? Any family members or something?"

Jake nods in agreement, "Yeah, that's a good idea. We can start by digging through her social media and seeing if she's been in contact with anyone suspicious."

The group starts to brainstorm and come up with a plan of action. Maya watches the discussion unfold, feeling like an outsider in their little group. She wonders if she'll ever truly fit in with them or if she's destined to always feel like an outsider.

Daemon takes a deep breath and looks around the room, searching for the right words to say. "I don't know," he finally admits. "Faith has always been elusive. She's fiercely independent and doesn't like to be tied down. But at the same time, she's never been one to shy away from a challenge. Maybe she does want to be found, but just doesn't know how to ask for help."

Maya nods, understanding. "It sounds like we need to be patient and take it one step at a time. We can't force her to do anything she doesn't want to do, but we can let her know that we're here for her if she needs us."

The rest of the group nods in agreement, and Hailey speaks up. "I think the first step should be to gather information. We need to know where she is and what she's been up to. Maybe we can find some clues on her social media or through her friends."

Jake nods. "I can hack into her social media and see what I can find. Maybe we can get a sense of where she's been and what she's been doing."

Savage leans back in his chair, taking a sip of his drink. "I like it. We'll find Faith, no matter what it takes."

As the group discusses their plan of action, Daemon can't help but feel conflicted. He knows that finding Faith could mean the end of his relationship with Hailey, and the thought makes his stomach churn. But at the same time, he can't deny the pull he feels towards Faith, even after all these years.

Maya notices the look on his face and nudges him gently. "You okay?" she asks, concern in her voice.

Daemon nods, forcing a smile. "Yeah, just a lot to think about," he replies.

Maya gives him a sympathetic look. "I know it's not easy, but you'll figure it out. Just remember that we're here for you, no matter what happens."

Daemon nods, grateful for her words of support. He knows that he has a difficult road ahead of him, but with the help of his friends, he feels like he can face anything that comes his way.

Again, Daemon takes a deep breath and looks down at the ground before finally responding to Maya. “I don't know," he admits. "But I do know that I can't keep living like this, with one foot in and one foot out. If Faith wants to be found, then I want to be the one to find her. And if she doesn't, then I need to move on and let her go."

The group falls silent, each lost in their own thoughts. Finally, Hailey speaks up. "I think we owe it to ourselves to at least try and find her," she says. "If she doesn't want to be found, then she can let us know. But we can't just sit around and wait for something to happen. We have to take action."

Babushka nods in agreement. "I have some contacts that might be able to help us," she says. "I can make some calls and see what I can find out."

Jake chimes in as well. "And I can do some digging online," he says. "I'm pretty good at finding information."

Savage grins. "And I'll keep an eye out for any hot leads," he says. "You never know who might be talking."

Maya smiles at the group, feeling grateful for their support. "Thank you, everyone," she says. "I really appreciate all of your help."

Daemon looks over at Maya and smiles back at her. "We'll find her," he says. "No matter what it takes."

As the night wears on, Daemon pulls Maya aside, thanking her for being understanding about his complicated situation with Faith.

"Thanks for being here, Maya," he says, his voice low. "It means a lot to have someone who understands."

Maya smiles softly. "Of course, Daemon. I'm here for you."

Hailey notices the two of them talking in hushed tones and feels a pang of jealousy. She watches them for a moment, trying to decipher their body language. Are they just friends, or is there something more there?

She shakes her head, trying to clear the thoughts from her mind. She trusts Daemon, but her own insecurities make her doubt herself.

As the night comes to a close, the group starts to clean up the mess from the barbecue. Hailey helps clean the grill, stealing glances at Daemon and Maya as they talk. She feels a twinge of jealousy again and pushes it down, focusing on the task at hand.

After everything is cleaned up, the group says their goodnights and heads to bed.

As they both got ready for bed, Hailey pulled Maya aside and asked her, "What were you and Daemon talking about earlier?"

Maya looked surprised for a moment before answering, "Oh, we were just talking about his situation with Faith and how complicated it is."

Hailey looked skeptical, "Really? It seemed like you two were pretty cozy over there."

Maya laughed, "Hailey, you have nothing to worry about. Daemon is your guy, and I would never try to come between you two."

Hailey relaxed a bit, "I know, I guess I'm just feeling a bit insecure about everything. It's been a tough couple of weeks."

Maya looks at Hailey, noticing the tension in her voice. "We were just talking about how hard it is to balance work and personal life, especially in our line of work," Maya replies with a small smile.

Hailey narrows her eyes suspiciously, "That's it?"

Maya nods, "Yeah, why? Is there something else you want to know?"

Hailey hesitates for a moment before shaking her head, "No, it's nothing. I just noticed that you guys were talking privately and it made me curious."

Maya chuckles softly, "You don't have to worry about anything between Daemon and me. We're just old friends catching up."

Hailey relaxes slightly at Maya's reassurance, "Okay, I trust you. It's just that... things are complicated with Daemon and Faith, and I don't want anything else to jeopardize their relationship even further."

Maya nods in understanding, "I get it. I won't do anything to mess things up. You can trust me."

Hailey smiles gratefully, "Thanks, Maya. I appreciate it."

Hailey smiles gratefully, "Thanks, Maya. I appreciate it."

Maya returns the smile, "No problem, Hailey. We're all in this together."

Hailey lay in bed, staring up at the ceiling. Her mind was racing with thoughts about Daemon, Maya, and Faith. She couldn't shake the feeling of jealousy that had been nagging at her since she saw Daemon pull Maya aside earlier. She knew she shouldn't be jealous, but she couldn't help it.

She started to wonder what Daemon saw in Maya. Was it just nostalgia from their past relationship? Or was there something more? Hailey tried to shake the thoughts from her head, reminding herself that she had no right to be jealous.

Hailey let out a sigh and turned over, trying to push the thoughts from her head. But as she closed her eyes, she couldn't help but wonder what the future held for her and Daemon, and if they would ever be able to overcome the obstacles in their path.

Maya also lay in bed staring up at the ceiling, her mind racing with thoughts about the situation she had found herself in. She had come to the house to help Hailey with a few technical things, but she had gotten wrapped up in their drama.

She couldn't help but feel a pang of guilt for the way she had bonded with Daemon, knowing how it must have made Hailey feel. Maya had always been the type to keep to herself, but something about this group had drawn her in.

As she lay there, she realized that she had feelings for Daemon. She tried to push the thought away, knowing that he was in a complicated situation with Faith and Hailey.

But as much as she tried to deny it, Maya couldn't shake the feeling that there was something between her and Daemon. She knew she needed to tread carefully, but she couldn't help the way she felt.

Finally, after hours of tossing and turning, Maya drifted off to sleep, her mind still full of thoughts about Daemon and the rest of the group.
