C2 Blood for Blood!

"Ines, why would you do this to me? I've always seen you as my own sister. How could you do this to me?"

A cold smirk spread across Ines's beautiful face as she spat out venomously, "Because you're nothing but a lowly, wild girl. You're foolish and dim-witted to think you could ever have Riven. He's mine! You tried to seduce my man, and now you're facing the consequences!"

Ines howled like a woman possessed, her stunning features twisting into a grotesque mask, oblivious to the onlookers.

"Do you have any idea how revolting it feels to call you 'sister'? How could I possibly see you, a country bumpkin, as my sister? If it weren't for the kidney I needed from you, do you really think the Munro family would have let you stay after losing their protection?" Ines sneered with contempt in her eyes.

Upon learning the truth, Ilyana felt as though she had plunged into a frozen abyss.

All the misfortunes in her life had been orchestrated by Ines!

At eighteen, she had fallen for Riven, only to be drugged and violated, her ordeal broadcast throughout the school.

When she was abandoned and vulnerable, Ines had held her, weeping as if her own heart were breaking, even going on a hunger strike to ensure Ilyana could remain with the Munro family.

She had defied Daxton's decisions time and again, all for Ilyana's sake.

Despite being cast aside by the Munro family and surrounded by scandal, the Slater women had always shown her kindness and care.

So when Ilyana discovered Ines was suffering from severe kidney failure and needed a transplant, she didn't hesitate to lie on the operating table and give her own kidney without a second thought.

She never imagined that behind all the sweetness lay sharp thorns, ready to pierce her life full of holes.

And yet, she had remained naively thankful to Ines.

With her face etched in sorrow and rage, Ilyana didn't know whether to cry or laugh. Her heart ached as if encased in razor blades, each movement bringing fresh pain. With no hope for escape or revenge, she resolved to drag Ines down with her to the afterlife.

Summoning an unknown strength, she broke free and, in a moment of madness, seized Ines by the throat, "How could you do this to me?!"

Ines's face turned beet red as she was being choked, and she let out a piercing scream:

"Ilyana, have you lost your mind? Let go of me right now!"

In that moment, Ilyana resembled a vengeful spirit emerging from the depths of hell, her eyes radiating a chilling, terrifying light, the corners tinged with deep-seated hatred.

She had indeed lost her grip on sanity. She had once believed that she was simply unfortunate, that her life was a series of losses, but she never imagined that all her misfortunes were orchestrated by the woman before her.

Seeing Ilyana's ferocity, Ines quickly turned to the dumbstruck thug with the blonde hair and yelled:

"What are you waiting for? Beat this woman to death!"

That's when the thugs sprang into action, pummeling Ilyana with a frenzy of kicks and punches.

Seemingly impervious to the pain, Ilyana's grip on Ines's neck began to weaken.

She collapsed to the ground, gasping for air, as blood poured from her nose and mouth. Until her last breath, she kept her eyes wide open, determined to etch this betrayal into her very bones.

If there were an afterlife, she would not spare these people who had disfigured her, not even as a ghost.

She was resolute in seeking a blood-for-blood vengeance.

...

Ilyana's eyebrows quivered, and her head throbbed excruciatingly. She shifted slightly, as if doused with a bucket of ice water, and snapped to alertness.

She vividly remembered being beaten to death, so why was she now devoid of any pain?

Struggling to sit up, she felt her intact head and cast a wary glance around her.
