C6 Showing up Grandly

"You're absolutely right; I just want to see the children of our Munro family," Old Madame Munro stated thoughtfully after taking a sip of her tea.

"Mom... How can you say such a thing..."

Watching his beloved Ondine being openly humiliated, Daxton was at a loss for words, afraid to speak out. He could only give her a look that pleaded for restraint.

"What's the matter? Do my words no longer carry weight?" Old Madame Munro's tone was firm, leaving Daxton speechless.

"Where exactly is Ilyana? Why is everyone so tight-lipped? Have you driven her away?" Old Madame Munro demanded, her voice tinged with anger, clearly out of patience.

The crowd was so engrossed in the moment that they failed to notice the young girl standing on the second floor, her lips curled into a contented smile.

...

"Grandma!"

A crisp, pleasant voice echoed from nearby.

Everyone looked up to see a young girl descending the ice-white spiral staircase gracefully.

Dressed in a white, elegant gown that hugged her figure, she captured the attention of everyone in the room the instant she appeared. Her stunning, aloof features and eyes clear as spring water exuded a refined and noble air, leaving others feeling unworthy and reluctant to defile her beauty.

As she made her way down the staircase, her red lips curved into a seductive smile. Her proud yet lively charm was captivating, leaving an indelible impression on all who laid eyes on her.

The room fell silent for several seconds.

The men watched her with unabashed desire.

The women's eyes burned with envy, driving them to the brink of madness.

Undoubtedly, her presence dimmed the allure of all other beauties present.

Ondine's gaze was immediately drawn to the entrancing figure before her. The bright eyes, the soft and ethereal demeanor, and that exquisite face were so breathtakingly beautiful they seemed otherworldly.

She was so stunning it stirred a protective instinct in anyone who saw her.

This girl's beauty was beyond words, and for a fleeting moment, Ondine thought she saw Elowyn.

As Ondine observed Daxton, utterly captivated, a glint of coldness flashed in her eyes. It was clear that this girl was a threat to her own destiny.

She could not be allowed to stay.

...

Also witnessing this scene from a hidden corner were two men.

"Young Master Joseph, should we approach and say hello to Old Madame Munro?"

The person beside him, observing the one with the stoic face, cautiously whispered the question.

Tucked away in a shadowy corner, the man was concealed by darkness. His black suit enveloped his tall, lean frame. He had casually chosen a spot, sitting back in his chair with his legs crossed.

His demeanor was detached, his icy visage framed by a pair of pitch-black eyes shrouded in an impenetrable mist. His gaze was deep and piercing, surveying the birthday celebration with the haughty air of an emperor.

To him, the attendees of the banquet were mere jesters, unworthy of his attention.

He exuded an air of noble aloofness, his charisma unmatched.

"No need!"

The man's voice was soft, clearly unaffected by the earlier commotion.

"But if we don't go now, I'm worried the Munro family won't have time for us later. And the old master's wishes..."

With a single glance, the man silenced his companion.

"I'm in charge here. We do as I say!"

"Should we just leave the gift and go?"

"Let's wait a little longer."

His gaze followed the aloof figure descending the ice-white staircase, his eyes momentarily clouding over.

He had a premonition that the Munro family's drama was about to get very interesting.
