C64

Xing Xiu's eyes grew hot.

A fire seemed to be burning in her chest, making all the blood in her body boil. She desperately wanted to hold him, hold him tight. He looked like a comrade-in-arms, but also like a lover.

However, she did not do so in the end.

She just looked up at him with her bright eyes and smiled.

"Gu Xijue, I hope we can see the beauty of the rivers and mountains in our lifetime, and the prosperity of our country."

"If we can't see it, our children will."

"Mm, ours... "Descendant." Her voice trailed off, but her face reddened.

Xing Xiu stood at the mouth of the alley as she watched Gu Xijue's carriage disappear into the distance. She let out a sigh of relief.

Fate is so wonderful. In order to break off the engagement with Gu Xijue, she didn't hesitate to ingest a repentant medicine before being reborn. However, after her rebirth, she discovered that Gu Xijue was an interesting person.

Since that was the case, would they still cancel the engagement after half a year?

She shrugged, not knowing the answer.

As she walked home, her steps were brisk and she hummed softly.

Two slanted shadows appeared on the ground.

She only cried out, "Help!" before her mouth was stuffed and she was thrown into the car!

Xing Xiu's eyes were blindfolded.

Her hands were tied up and her mouth was sealed. She had truly become blind and dumb.

Darkness brought great fear, and she did not know where she was taken. The only thing she could feel was that she was riding in a carriage. The horse was running fast, the car lurched, and the coachman was still whipping the horses, the whips whizzing through the air.

Was it Fan Jinya who broke his promise and sent people to capture him?

The carriage had been running for so long. Could it be that they had already left the ocean? Would he be dragged out of the countryside and dismembered and thrown away?

Although he had been prepared to sacrifice himself long ago, he still couldn't help but feel afraid at this point. She thought about how her timid mother and father would feel when they saw the body, and she thought about Gusijue.

He had just said that they would work hard together for the sake of the ideal. They would watch the beautiful scenery of the rivers and mountains as well as enjoy the prosperity of the country. But now, she was going to die alone.

Xing Xiu closed her eyes in despair, tears streaming down her cheeks.

She didn't know if it was an illusion or not, but she felt someone approach her and cut the rope on her hand.

"Don't be afraid, it's me." That person whispered into his ear.

A familiar scent made from wood came over as he untied Xing Xiu's eyepatch.

The man in front of her was wearing a black suit and a golden mask. He smiled at her and asked, "Can you walk?"

Xing Xiu immediately nodded.

The sounds of gunfire made her shrink her head. The Shadow Knight's figure was like a ghost, nimbly dodging the rain of bullets.

The two horses had long since fallen to the ground, and the rain had been reduced to a sieve. Xing Xiu was being pushed back and forth like a puppet by the Shadow Knight.

The air smelled of gunpowder.

The Shadow Knight shot out twelve throwing knives, while the enemy screamed out twelve times.

The fire finally died down.

"My throwing knives are out of stock. Can you shoot?" With a series of flying kicks, the Shadow knocked another one out and threw a gun at her.

She had never fired a gun before, not even touched it, but she resolutely said: "Of course I do!"

"Alright, you cover me!" He performed a lightness technique and swept across the walls of the small hut. His body was light and agile, like Ling Yun's eagle.

The fire was fierce again.

The Shadow closed in on him, twisted the man's neck with his right hand, picked up the gun, and shot the other two. His movements were smooth like flowing water, pleasing the eyes.

Xing Xiu held the gun stiffly, her finger on the trigger.

The enemy was right in front of him.

But she didn't dare move. She had witnessed warm blood spurt out when the knives and guns had entered her body, and when the shadow knight had shot out with his knife, he had cut a person's throat.

She didn't dare move.

It was different from her usual acting, slogans and leaflets.

This was a true battle, and blood was flowing from the wounds. There were truly people dying here.

She was scared. She had always said that she wasn't afraid, that she longed for the baptism of blood and fire, but she was actually very afraid. She couldn't help but wonder, if she really did kill someone, what would happen to their family? They also had parents and children.

Why fight?

Everyone, don't fight. Why don't we just live a good life?

The Shadow Warrior had destroyed all of the enemy's weapons and was currently engaged in close combat with the last few people who knew kung fu. His left hand, still unable to muster any strength, hung limply at his side. The bad news was that he hadn't been feeling well all day.

Unfortunately, the enemy was hard to deal with, so he forced himself to finish off two more. The two of them had no weapons, so they could only fight head on. He took two heavy punches and felt a sweet taste in his throat.

Xing Xiu was still standing there, stiffly holding her spear.

He smiled bitterly.

It was really hard on her. She was just a weak lady from a noble family who needed the protection of others.

After a dozen more moves, the Shadow Hero's reaction became slower and slower. His opponent picked up a triangular-shaped iron rod and smashed at him heavily. He had to dodge it twice, but the third time, he wanted to raise his hand to block it, but he had no strength left.

Bang!

Xing Xiu pulled the trigger!

The burly man was like an elephant that had suddenly fainted, pressing down heavily on the shadow warrior and bringing him down with him.

"Shadow Knight!" "Shadow Knight!" Xing Xiu ran towards him like a madman, pushing the fellow away with great difficulty and helping him up.

He was covered in blood, and when Xing Xiu wiped his face with her hand, it was bright red.

"It's not my blood. I'm not hurt." He explained briefly, then pulled her along and began to run.

However, his situation was not good. As soon as the two ran out of the road, his knees gave way and he fell to his knees.

"This is the 16th floor. If you follow this road, you will be able to see the dock …" Once we get to the dock, you'll know how to get home, right? " he said.

Startled, Xing Xiu asked, "You're not coming with me?"

"Walking together is too big of a goal, and … I can't walk. " He chuckled.

Xing Xiu ripped open his left sleeve.

His wounds had long since been reopened by the intense battle. The gauze had been soaked in blood, and there was a faint stench coming from it.

"I won't leave you behind!"

she sobbed. Gritting his teeth, he lifted him up forcefully and went into the grass shed by the side of the road.
