Under the neon lights of the club, in the mass of people, there was only her. She danced as if no one else existed. Twirling and moving her body in a wild and fierce rhythm. Her hips moved from side to side, and her plump breasts moved with the music. With her hands in the air above her head, her white long hair swayed around her body. Her eyes were closed, and her rosy lips were slightly parted enclosed in a trans-like state. At her every move she looked like she was shining. Like a sun among the stars, she looked like a dream. Like she was not real and would disappear at any moment. She looked elegant and wild at the same time. It was like two opposites merged into one being. Fragile but strong. An angel and a devil in one. A slight scent of chocolate, strawberries, and rain evaded my senses, drowning me. Locking all of my attention on the scene before my eyes. On her. And as the crowd swallowed her up I ran to try and find her but I still somehow stumble and fall into the darkness.

"Ghhh" I growled silently at the sun that basked over my bed. A dream huh? I dreamed about the girl I saw last night in a club. She looked so peaceful surrounded by chaos. Dancing like a fairy, with a body so...

"Pervert" My wolf Lyall snorted in my mind. "We are waiting for our mate!" At those words, I rolled my eyes and got up from the bed. Tonight is the Alpha meeting. The thought of going through this again was pure torture. I hated this, as all of the alphas brought their families and threw their daughters on me like I'm some sort of prize they can win. And even when they don't turn out to be my mates, they still linger and try something hoping for more. They disgust me. All of these people approach me with masks and hidden emotions. Wrapping their cruel and dirty intentions into a nice wrapping, and presenting it to me as praise. They look at me, my position, and my wealth as something they deserve. But tonight I have to attend. At least this gathering was unavoidable. Today was the day when the top 20 biggest packs in the world would meet and discuss business, packs, and other races.

As I washed my teeth and got dressed, my mind wandered again back to last night and the woman that danced illuminated by the lights.

"Hati" The voice of my Beta Jake wakes me up from my daydream. "I see someone is still not back to his senses after last night" He laughs at me squinting his face into a mocking smile. Last night this playboy prick of a Beta made me sit with some other Beats and Alphas that will be joining us tonight. It was so bad that when he noticed I was on my last nerve, he dragged me to a local club. Well, at least I saw something nice there but still. If he wasn't my best friend I would have killed him a long time ago. But of course, he didn't even notice that I haven't replayed to him once, and he carried on talking to himself. "I was so bored last night, I swear that club was the best thing that happened to me. Of course, you were such a party popper that you stared at one spot all night without a word. How do you expect to find your mate like that? Or to even have some fun?" He continued talking while following me as I exited the room "Did you hear Sergei bragging last night? To think that prick would marry Alexanders' firstborn and inherit the position. Did you hear stories about her?" He looked at me with eyes filled with anticipation.

"I don't even know who she is." Annoyed by my answer he rolled his eyes so hard that I hoped they to stay that way.

"Of course! Of course, even I don't know her. No one does, this would be her first time making a public appearance. But there are many stories you know. Everyone knows she's a hybrid." As he said the word hybrid his eyes sparkled with excitement. Hybrids between races are so rare that people often never see one in their lifetime. As many die before birth or in their first year of life.

"Hybrid? How old is she?"

"Yes, yes, half-vampire one at that! She should be 23 as of now if my information is correct."

"Information?"

"Well, you know Alexanders' second child Natasha is quite known. She is sad to be the prettiest among the younger generation of females. And is often seen attending gatherings and pack events. But the firstborn was never seen! Even by pack members! There are many stories!" He was so enthusiastic when it was time to gossip! He didn't shut up once since he entered my room. And even now while following me to the dining room his mouth didn't stop saying nonsense even once! I sometimes wondered how much better work would be if he fueled his passion for gossip into his work. And of course, even though he saw that I don't have any interest in this matter, he continued rambling. "Some people say she is beyond beautiful, so much that Alexander hid her away. Others say she's sick. But most think that she is beyond ugly. Even that fool Sergei was saying that after marrying her he won't touch her. Of course, you know he has a mate already? Right?"

"Leave me alone! I want to eat in peace! Go and spread your gossip somewhere else my head is killing me!" As I sit by the table full of annoyance, I finally snap. Jake hums loudly and races out of the room angrily. Although I know he acting and is probably running to the others in our pack to spread his gossip. He was a trusted aide and the best second in command ever. Sly and cunning he used his brain to the best of its capacity. But he had his faults as well. As he went away I picked up my silverware ready to devour my breakfast, catching the slight reflection of my golden eyes on the side of the knife.
