C2 Their Departure

Their beautiful ride finally got to an end as Shaun pulled over at the bridge. Sofia did not want to get out of the car but could not show it.

Shaun looked at her face and felt a warm feeling running down his spine.

"Good bye"Shaun said as she opened the car door. Sofia nodded and got out feeling very upset and wanted to cry.

He slowly started the car and drove off into the open road. Sofia sat by a bench waiting for Diamond to pick her up.

Sofia wasn't lost in thought but she did think about him deeply. Due to that her phone fell from her hands.

She picked it up and realised that she was still wearing his shoes.

"He left his shoes" Sofia said, she felt exactly the way the prince did when he saw cinderella's glass slippers.

Sofia's phone was smashed to pieces but so as was heart. He was pretty annoying but Sofia liked it.

In a few minutes Diamond pulled up by the bridge and rushed out to help Sofia.

Both of them hugged deeply, Sofia got into the car and they were off.

"Soph is there a problem?"Diamond asked with a mischievous smile.

Sofia wasn't paying her any attention i was thinking of that man again. Sofia had to be tapped till she regained her senses.

"Girl what is up with you?" Diamond playfully asked. Sofia didn't get what she was talking about and grew confused.

"Nothing why do you ask?" Sofia was really acting ignorant to the situation.

"Forget that tell me what happened to you where did you disappear to? Your bodyguard and i searched the whole club looking for you. Your dad is really upset and your mum is scared."

"Am tired I'll you at my house but now i need to rest" Sofia said. She rested on the car seat and rested her head.

After a few minutes they arrived at the huge mansion. It looked like two hotels stacked together and the structure and design was perfect. Her father made sure that the house was flawless and stand out.

Diamond drove into the parking lot amongst different expensive cars. Sofia was gathered by bodyguards and a bunch of maids to attend to her.

"Ann go get her bathroom water running and Karen go make her brunch quickly." Diamond ordered. She had her own way of getting the helps to do whatsoever she pleased.

It wasn't very nice to treat people in that manner but as usual Sofia kept quiet.

Sofia followed her into the courtyard to relax a bit before seeing her parents. As she closed her eyes she felt a shadow blocking her light. She opened them and discovered it was her mum and dad.

Sofia got up and gave them a tight embrace and smiled.

"What happened to you i missed you your dad missed you we all did" her mum Rihanna said.

"I missed you too mum" Sofia said as three of them made their way to the living room.

Sofia had a glass of juice and sat down to relax. Diamond, her cousin came and sat down beside her. Everyone was happy to see her back but Sofia kept looking at her dad.

He had not said a word since she had returned and it caused her distress.

Karen came down and told her that her water was ready. Sofia left to her room and locked the door. It was a lot to take in waking up in a different house not remembering how she got there.

Sofia took a good look at her room and had a flashback of the stranger's room. Hers was way bigger and it suprised her at how quickly she lost everything.

She got in her bathtub and took a nice dip to calm her down.

Sofia held my lips and blushed a bit it reminded her of "him". Sofia got out of the tub and took out her red toothbrush.

Sofia remembered his green toothbrush and it made her blush.

Karen was watching me brush my teeth and Sofia felt a gaze on her.

Sofia turned around to see Karen watching me and Sofia tried to stop looking happy.

She dropped my clothes on my bed and started picking out my shoes.

Sofia came out wearing my red robe and she sat me down.

"I can explain.." Sofia tried to say but had nothing to say.

"Sofia i raised you and i know you more than you know yourself" Karen said.

It was true Karen was like a mother or more to Sofia.

Sofia's mum was always at some party or some social gathering. She never had time to watch Sofia grow up properly.

Her dad owned the company and spent his time working overtime to earn more profit. Her father was very rich and successful in his business.

All he ever talked about was making more profit and tried to teach it to Sofia. She had no intrest in any of that.

All Sofia wanted to do was to draw and paint. Her father although he spoiled her did not allow this. He destroyed all her art materials and bamned it from the house.

Only Karen knew how much his decision hurt her immensely. Her mum only got her clothes and accessories for her body to look good.

She never thought of how her mind and soul was looking.

All Sofia wanted was not to disappoint her parents and have them feel proud of her.

All her father's business associates expect me to be as exceptional as her father.

To top things off Diamond, her cousin was way better than she was. She had straight A's in all her business courses at the university.

It seemed like her dad preferred her cousin to her. Sofia inwardly felt unwanted and could only share this with Karen.

"Sofia what happens to you?" Karen asked her.

"Well i was at the club yes, that club off that block. Around that corner close to that cafe, oppsite that mall.." Karen looked at her meaning she should go on.

"I had a few drinks and got very dizzy then i woke up in a man's apartments" Sofia said trying to seem casual.

"What!"

Karen looked so out of this world at thst second and point in time.

"Do you know his name?" Karen asked looking tensed.

Sofia nodded negatively, "You don't even know his name!"Karen almost yelled very angry.

"What's your problem?"

"I don't know if anything happened i don't remember what actually went down last night" Sofia shamefully said.

"How won't you remember you were probably too drunk!" Karen said really mad at her.

"He said that nothing happened between us that he only tried to save me from some guys at the club last night."

"Do you trust what he told you?"Karen starred at me and a silence occurred.

"Honestly i don't know what to believe anymore i just don't know if he's lying or not" Sofia admitted.

"I want to believe him i really do but i think that he's lying. If he saved me then why did he kiss me?". Karen's eyes fell out of the socket" you two kissed?"

"No it isn't like that he kissed me"Sofia said and felt stupid.

"You let some random guy kiss you?" Karen asked very suprised.

"I..I.." Sofia was dumbfounded she had nothing to say.

Karen was about to shout at her but they heard a bell ring. It was lunch time Sofia got her clothes and changed in the dressing room.

She got out of her dressing room to discover Karen had left.

Sofia quietly left her room and went downstairs for lunch.

During lunch her dad barely noticed her and it upset her.

"How's the business doing?" Mr Sparks asked as he drank champagne.

"It's going great i just got a new client MR LIM he's a business tycoon from China. He has invested fifty million dollars into our company".

"Good for my company it feels good to have a trustworthy child to take care of my business when am gone."

It hurt Sofia that her dad loved Diamond more than he could ever love her.

It wasn't her fault she didn't want to indulge in business. She had a passion for music and arts. But her parents would not allow it.

This was too much for Sofia to take in she was the heiress but Diamond was taking her rights away.

Sofia stood up and cleared her throat "I've decided to finally join the business and give up my childishness.

Sofia's father was so shocked that he almost had a heartattack. Karen dropped the plate in her hands and her mouth widened. Rihanna was lost and wondered if it was her child or her look alike. Diamond dropped her fork and fixed her gaze on Sofia.

Sofia wasn't too certain of her choice but did not plan on backing down.

"Amazing i am so proud of you this is the best news I've heard". Mr Spark said full of life.

"Congrats darling" Rihanna said as she hugged her really happy.

"Congratulations"Diamond said and also gave her a tight squeeze.

"I knew you would finally grow up my dear am so proud of you now i can rest in peace"

Karen picked the broken pieces and gave her a look which almost killed her. Sofia knew that her decision wasn't sincere but she wanted to make a name for herself and gain her father's respect. It was her secret obsession ever since childhood Sofia wanted to look good in his eyes.

After lunch she drove around town with her driver and stopped at some of her favourite places. Sofia was worn out and needed a nice dip in the tub and a nice cup of Karen's tea.

The house was noisy and she suspected that she had guests.

As she got into the living room a group of reporters flocked around her and started taking photos.

Sofia was simply timid and shy around the press but she was able to look presentable enough.

After a series of picture taking all the attention shifted to her mother who vame downstairs looking dashing and beautiful. She must have had her stylists over and gotten a new designer.

All the reporters took photos and it was evident that Mrs Spark loved the camera.

Then, to Diamond she also looking nice it wad like it was all planned and she was left out.

Her dad finally came down and the reporters all gathered round him. He didn't need his bodyguard to help him get past them he could do that by himself.

He walked up to herfor the first time and he held my hand. Normally this was his and Diamond's thing but was one of the perks of being on his goodside.

"Sir does this confirm the rumour that earlier today Sofia Sparks decided to become a part of Sparks Inc.?"

"I have called you here to announce two things. First and foremost my daughter my only daughter Sofia is a part of our company." Mr Sparks said and Sofia gave her dad a peck on his cheek. She was happy about this she was finally getting what she deserved.

"What else I'd like to announce is that i will get the people behind my daughter's disappearance behind bars. I won't let him have peace for taking my child from me".

Sofia looked so confused at that moment she did not know about his decision.

She almost forgot about it and now it's coming back to haunt her. Well as long as the ghost was that handsome it wasn't that bad.

Sofia's facial expression changed and it was obvious. But she could not show her sudden facial expression and tried to smile.

Karen gave Sofia a knowing look and retired to her room. Mr Sparks spoke at length about how he would not stop till he caught the monster who tried to deprive him of sleep.

In a few while the press left and everyone retired to their rooms but Sofia and Mr Sparks.

"Vodka?" Mr Sparks offered Sofia

"No dad I don't drink Vodka" Sofia said.

"I've never said this to anyone said this to anyone but i really love you." Mr Sparks said.

"But you tell me that all the time" Sofia said.

"But I want you to remember that always. I know you might think that am selfish and wicked. I still remember when I had your art materials thrown away. It wasnt like I hate you or anything but i want only the best for you.

When I was still a child I had nothing at all to feed me and your uncle. I was really very skilled in art but that didn't help me. I had to struggle to survive. I put all my foolishness aside and focused on my main goal, to survive. After a lot of time and effort see where I am now. I only want you to be the greatest and i know you can do it.

Now I can finally rest because I have someone who can takeover when am gone. Sofia your support is the best gift you have ever given to me. I love you Sofia"

"I love you too dad".

"Promise you will make a lot of profit and make me proud" Mr Sparks said.

"Yes dad I do promise I will make you so proud of me. I will do what you've always wanted from me and prove my worth to you this family and the business. Am Sofia Sparks daughter of Xander Sparks I never go back on a promise" Sofia said and hugged her dad tightly.

That night did not put Sofia in the state of mind she wanted to be in. She was filled with worry if she could fulfil her promise. It was a test to prove her worth and she was determined to "wing it".
