C3 Innocent game

Jessica bit her lips and looked at Elise with an innocent expression. But the way she looked at Elise could be easily mistaken as fear, like Elise had done something to her.

"Kayden, what game could I possibly play? Don't forget that there are cameras in here," Elise said coldly.

Jessica nervously glanced up at a black camera on the ceiling and held Kayden's hands. "Kayden, she didn't push me. I fell off myself. I'm sorry for causing any misunderstanding."

If Elise really exposed her, Jessica was afraid that it might affect Kayden's and her relationship.

Elise didn't want to see their lovey-dovey interactions, so she turned to leave.

"Did I say you could leave, Elise?" Kayden sneered.

"So I can't leave unless I apologize to your beloved Jessica?" Elise mocked, turning around to face the man she had been crazy in love with for the past ten years.

Elise had been in love with him for ten years, which was why she readily agreed to marry him. She learned that everyone had left Kayden's side when he got into that fateful accident and injured both his legs.

Kayden's sister and brother ignored him and wanted to take over the company for themselves. Hence, she took it upon herself to heal him. She even helped chase away those wolves and dogs who were eyeing his company. She secured the CEO position for him and didn't claim any credit for it. That was one of the reasons why Mrs. Anderson Senior trusted her.

"Yes," Kayden glared at her like he was going to rip her to pieces.

Much to his shock, Elise took two steps towards him until their feet were nearly touching.

"What if I kiss you as an apology? Will you let me go?" she asked seductively, standing on her tiptoes, her lips moving closer and closer to his. Jessica's eyes darkened, and she clenched the blanket.

"Don't be so disgusting. Do you think I would fall for it?" he snapped and turned away from her.

Elise let out a scoff. All these years, he wouldn't hesitate to berate her, wanting to chase her out of the Anderson's. Finally, she knew the reason why. It was to welcome Jessica back.

Once she purposely dressed up like Jessica, imitating her style and makeup just to be closer to him. Maria had told her that Kayden liked this look very much. It turned out that Maria did that to purposely get her into trouble. Maria even asked Elise to wear some of Jessica's old clothes that were left behind.

At first, Elise didn't know that the clothes belonged to Jessica. She thought that Maria was being kind. It was until Kayden roared at her to take them off and said that she would never be her that Elise understood it.

"Fine. The apology will come tomorrow. Remember to bring Jessica to your company then," Elise strode away before he could say anything.

That night, Kayden returned home late with Jessica. Elise stayed in her room, listening to the voices of them speaking next door. They didn't bother to be discreet.

"Kayden, ah! Ah! Ah! Yes, there. That spot."

"Jessie, baby, you feel so good."

Elise's knuckles had turned white. Tears slipped from her greyish-blue eyes. This was the man she foolishly loved and given her heart, body, and soul to. Now he was cheating on her next door, in such an obvious manner.

Did they think that she wasn't here, or did they do it on purpose to make her leave? Elise couldn't sleep. She began packing up her things. She only had a few things that could easily fit into a small suitcase.

The next morning, Elise was walking down the stairs when her mother-in-law, Amanda, approached her and scowled.

"Why didn't you prepare breakfast?! How could you sleep peacefully while my son has to wake up so early in the morning for work and found that nothing was prepared on the table?!"

"I didn't get a good night's sleep last night. You should ask Kayden to keep it down a notch," Elise yawned leisurely.

Amanda scowled, looking at her with disdain and contempt.

"Quickly prepare breakfast. We're starving," she snorted and headed back to the kitchen.

"Where's the food? Elise, didn't you cook anything?!" Maria yelled at her.

All these years in the Anderson mansion, Elise was treated like their cook and maid. They made her cook and clean, pushing her around. Behind her back, her in-laws would laugh at her and mock her.

"Maria, yelling will make you more hungry," Elise said casually. She was calm and collected, not rushing to prepare anything for them. Elise had gotten used to their abuse and treatment over the years.

"Then cook now! Don't make us wait," Maria slammed the table impatiently with her palm as if she was a child.

Jessica was at the table. When Elise arrived, holding a pot in her hands, Jessica gazed at her like she was ashamed.

"I'm sorry, Elise. I didn't mean to disturb your sleep last night. It was just that Kayden was too hard on me," she blushed shyly, her words hinting at the intimate moment she shared with Kayden last night. Elise knew that she was provoking her.

"Why are you apologizing to her? She doesn't deserve it. Elise only schemed her way through grandma to marry Kayden," Maria rolled her eyes.

"Actually, you should be apologizing to the servants. With those loud noises, I wonder who didn't have a standing ovation," Elise smirked at Jessica.

Jessica and Amanda were taken aback!

"Elise! H-how could you say such crude words?" Amanda choked. Her eyes nearly flew out of their sockets.

"Crude words match crude actions," Elise tilted her head to one side and smirked.

"Y-you!" Amanda couldn't believe what she was hearing.

Jessica's eyes flashed with anger and malice, but it disappeared quickly before anyone noticed.

"Elise, apologize to Jessica now!" Maria said.

"Why are you all asking me to apologize to her? Shouldn't she be apologizing to me for fucking my husband when I was next door?" Elise was calm. She looked at her in-laws and Jessica, a faint smile dancing on her lips.
