C8 Celebrate my divorce
"Nice to see you, Jessica. I go wherever I want to. Is there a problem?" Elise's response was sharp and cold, catching them off guard. Liam and Nathan's eyes brightened. They had never seen a woman who dared to talk to Jessica like that. In the States, everyone respected Jessica because she was going to be the future wife of Kayden.
Jessica bit her lips and forced a smile. "No, I'm just curious. I didn't mean to disturb you or come between you and Kayden."
Come between Kayden? Did this beauty and Kayden know each other? It sounded like an innocent sentence, but Elise knew that Jessica was hinting to Kayden's friends about her status.
"That's right. I'm Kayden's ex-wife, Elise. Nice to meet y'all," Elise casually said, her tone lazy and confident.
"What? This is your ex-wife, Kayden?" Liam was shocked. Kayden glared at Liam, but he didn't seem to notice the murderous aura radiating from him.
Liam, a playboy who changed girls every week, couldn't help but compare Jessica and Elise. The two women were standing face to face with each other, so it was easy to see who had a better figure and face.
"Kayden, I remembered that you said that your wife was nothing to boast about, that she looked like a stick. But this is like a cover magazine model!" Liam exclaimed.
Ah, so that's what he said to his friends? Ellison wrapped his hand around Elise's waist naturally.
"So what if she was someone's ex-wife? Does that make her any lesser of an excellent woman?" Ellison said, looking at Elise tenderly.
Everyone was stunned. It was said that Ellison King didn't like women and had never ever touched one in his life. Everyone suspected that he was gay. How did Kayden's ex-wife get together with him?!
Jessica kept her face passive. She tried not to act like she was offended that someone said her figure couldn't compare to Elise.
"That's not what I mean. I thought that you didn't like women. I mean, because there were rumors out there," Liam chuckled nervously.
Ellison looked at Kayden with obvious disdain and contempt, and so did Kayden. The atmosphere between them was becoming colder and colder.
"Are you Mr. King, the CEO of the King & Lark Foundations?" Jessica asked, her eyes brightening. Her family has been trying to get a partnership with the King & Lark Foundations but to no avail. It was said that one has to go through fire and ice to meet the CEO. Tonight, the CEO was standing right in front of them.
"I am," Ellison said.
Jessica wanted to shake his hand, but he stepped back, looking repulsed.
"Sorry, I do not shake hands with other women other than Elise."
Jessica's jaw clenched, but she quickly regained her composure.
Kayden stepped forward to help his fiancée. "Mr. King, I heard that you and Miss Flinch of the Flinch Group have signed a contract together. If you don't shake hands, I wonder how you sealed the deal. Miss Flinch isn't an easy woman to deal with," Kayden spoke coldly and arrogantly.
A chilly but mocking smile appeared on Ellison's face. "Miss Flinch is of exceptional talent. She is praised worldwide for her beauty, kindness, courage, and capabilities. How could she be compared to your fiancée? To be honest, I have never heard of Jessica before. Don't get offended; I'm just saying the truth. Miss Flinch is worthy of shaking my hands, but Miss Jessica? I wonder what she can do to a hotel in less than six months," Ellison chuckled.
Kayden's eyes turned bloodshot. Ellison was insulting his fiancée in front of him.
Miss Flinch was famous for turning a one-star hotel into a five-star hotel with many good ratings within six months, less than a year. No one could achieve a feat like that.
Jessica clenched her fists and gnashed her teeth. Ellison was talking bad things about her in front of everyone, and he wasn't toning it down! What did Elise do to seduce Ellison King?!
Elise controlled her laughter. Her brother's way of grilling people was unique.
Just as Kayden was about to say something, Elise interrupted.
"Oh, let's go. I called our friends to celebrate my divorce," Elise clung onto Ellison's arm intimately, her movements seemed to mock and imitate Jessica's.
"Alright. Whatever you say, Ele," Ellison led Elise away, speaking to her lovingly.
After the divorce, it seemed like she had become another person. Kayden watched them leave. Then his eyes flitted to the bruise on her back, his dark pupils narrowing.
"She's so badass!" Liam exclaimed. His eyes followed Elise as she moved to the opposite lounge.
"Stop looking. She's Ellison King's woman," As Kayden said this, he felt a tightness in his chest. When he heard the words 'celebrate my divorce', he felt like punching a hole in the wall. This woman was obviously making fun of him!
Jessica turned and saw him looking at Elise. Not Ellison King, but Elise. She dug her nails into her palms. Why was he looking at her like that? Did he want her or have feelings for her?
"You know they might mistake us for being a couple," Elise said.
"Let them think whatever they want. They always jump to conclusions. A bad habit that will eventually blind them," Ellison poured her a drink.
"I thought you wanted to leave when Kayden and Jessica showed up," Ellison spoke softly.
Their VIP lounges were side by side, so they could see each other clearly.
"Why should I leave? I'm here to party," Elise smiled mischievously.
A few people walked into the nightclub.
"Elise! Ellison! You guys are so sneaky!" A woman with red hair strode over to their lounge. Following behind her were two girls and a man. They all sat with Ellison and Elise.
The woman's loud voice attracted the attention of Kayden and his friends.
"Isn't that Nadia Sparks, the heiress of the Sparks Group?! Is she friends with your ex-wife?" Liam asked, surprised. Nathan was quiet beside them. But every now and then, his eyes would glance over at Elise's VIP section.
