C1 A Note From The Author

Many of you may be wondering why I am writing this story. Many might think I am a misogynist after reading some of the events that have been explicitly described. I have tried my level best to tone down the intensity of the events described in the story. It has been my firm belief that women and men have a significant role to play in the society. The problem is that we have confused the roles of men and women and have allowed our own prejudices and foolish egos to create a society that is dangerous not only for women but also for men as well. This book aims to bring out those disparities and the abuse of power that is one of the main reasons for chaos.

A society that tries to suppress women can never hope to progress. A civilisation that heaps atrocities on its women is doomed to disappear. Likewise no woman can hope to win by putting down a man. Men and women have different capabilities and when society allows them to work as per their abilities, it would be a heaven on earth.

The first step to gender emancipation is recognising the fact that men and women have different abilities. I am not talking about physical strength or any of the stereotypes that women and men are burdened with these days. No male deserves to be destroyed just because he is a male. No woman deserved to be looked down upon simply because she is considered ‘weaker’, ‘a liability’ and so on.

There are so many characters in this story that it is difficult to remember all. The intention behind so many characters is not to confuse the reader but to highlight the issues through those characters. Many of the characters have been inspired from the stories of abuse that one comes across the print media – be it the news papers, the internet, the social media, the visual media like the television, the movies etc.

There are many nations that have been suppressing women horribly. There are nations that still practice traditions that should have been stopped in this era of science and innovation. There are still some people who stick to barbaric practices in the name of religion. These practices have made the life of women miserable.

I have exaggerated some of the events but that does not indicate an effort to glorify abuse and violence against women. Then why do I write such a story that borders on erotica and bdsm? The answer is simple. I am appalled at the way violence on women is actually crossing the limits of civility. I am disgusted by the way such violence is used for TRP ratings and personal propaganda rather than bring relief to the victims and help them get justice.

I am horrified at the way some of the media channels cover incidents of sexual abuse and try to sensationalise them passing their own judgements without waiting for the investigation agencies to nab the culprits. But then, when the criminals are hand in glove with the authorities and justice is delayed to the victims for decades, what should be done? How should they get justice?

The problem with most societies is that people do not try to help the victims even when they can. That encourages crime. Only when the public reacts swiftly to a crime will such incidents stop. Till then we shall see cases like Nirbhaya of Delhi, Disha of Hyderabad, etc. Till then we shall see females irrespective of their age falling prey to maniacs whose only purpose is sexual gratification.

This book has been written from the pain of having to read and witness such horrors in daily life. I hope the readers will pause and think about the issues raised in this book.
