C17 WHY ME?

Aimscious and Mart returned to Solidad's ward with a worried look. She finally stopped by her mother's bed, taking her hand in the process and forced a smile. "How're you feeling now, mum." She asked and a weak smile swiftly lightened up Solidad's pale face.

"I'm better now" She replied as she gently patted her hand.

" The doctor said you'll be discharged in few hours so we'll be leaving in a while " Aimscious uttered, a bit worried. Solidad looked at her daughter's face and beamed with a smile.

" Alright dear, cheer up- i'm fine " With that, she leaned forward and hugged her. Aimscious laid her head over her mother's shoulder as silent tears trekked down her face- hiding her tears from her.

" Can't lose you too mother" She whispered under her breath. After a few more hours, Solidad was discharged- Mart and Aimscious took her home.

SOLIDAD AND AIMSCIOUS' HUT

After an endless hour drive, they finally arrived home and Mart took Solidad's hand as he helped her into the hut~ Aimscious followed with a distressed look.

" Take mother to her room so she can rest. I'll go fix something for her to eat", Aimscious urged and Mart bobbed his head to which

she left for the kitchen. Mart stayed by Solidad until Aimscious returned with a tray of soup and some rice.

" Have something mother, so you can take your medicine " She stated, placing the food on a table seated next to the bed~ Mart helped Solidad seat up from the bed as she adjusted herself to which Aims settled beside her and fed her some hot soup; her depressed gaze almost - selling out her thoughts, while her eyes bated with unshed tears.

" Aims?---- Aims..."Slolidad called in a calm voice but she was too lost in thoughts to notice. Mart instinctively pressed her hand gently to signal her to which he whispered.

" Mum is talking to you" With that, she swiftly turned her gaze on her mother and forced a smile while she struggled to hold in her frustrations and fear.

" What were you saying mum..."She asked on an impulse.

" You look lost ~ is everything okay with you"Solidad asked, worried and Aims feigned a smile before answering.

" Yes mum...I'm perfectly fine , just a little tired" She assured.

After taking in enough soup, Aimscious gave her the medicine and helped her rest on the bed~Mart rose to his feet and sauntered over to solidad's bed. "I'll be leaving now mum, its almost late" He announced'

" Okay, take care, my regards to your mother"Solidad faintly muttered.

" I'm seeing him off then, I will be back shortly " She called to her mother and they both left the house.

ALONG THE ROAD

As they exited the compound and sauntered down the road, Mart stared up at his companion's face and the incident of the afternoon hit him. Tactfully clearing his throat which successfully got her attention, he asked.

" Why did you leave class without informing me. If I had not arrived there on time, I don't know what the result may had been."

But Aimscious just stayed mute without uttering a word. He turned to find out the reason why she was not answering him and noticed her tears.

"Aims~" He grumbled as he scooped her into a hug and dried her tears.

" Why are you crying~why are you doing this to yourself?" He asked with a concerned lool. " Why are you punishing yourself with tears..'' He pressed, almost in tears.

" Why me... Why is this happening in my life...? Why is life treating me so unfairly?" She cried.

Its first took my joy...,Betty, Nicole and dad, and then my family moments and now it want to take my mother, my last hope........" She lamented as breaks down in tears.

Mart pulled her closer , moved his face slowly towards her , placing a gentle kiss on her forehead. She closed her eyes and felt his soft lips touch her skin gently and consolingly.

" Don't say that, Aims~I'm here with you and I know all will be well. Just focus on the sparkles in your destiny and move forward strongly with ambition. I'll always be there for you and support you no matter what.."He uttered and hugged her. She felt her heart skip and in his arms she felt the safety she always longed for.

" Thank you Mart ~for always being there for me and encouraging me",She uttered with a smile.

" Just promise you will be strong and take good care of mother and yourself but please always let me know your whereabout.." he cautioned.

She nodded in response and made a pinky promise. She looked back at the hut concerned.

" I have to get back to the hut now, Mum may be in need of something, I'll leave you here. Call me when you get home, bye.." She explained and sped off~ they departed on their separate way.

" My regards to your mother, tell her that I miss her so much and will visit soon." She shouted from afar after she had gone a few distance close to the hut.

" Alright, I'll get her informed." He shouted back and smiled.
