C20 Want to Leave? Have You Asked Me Before?
“Trying to leave? Did I say you could?” Chenyu lounged on the bed, fiddling with the remote. “Stay with me tonight.”
His tone was commanding, almost arrogantly so.
“You think I’m that kind of woman?!” Geyao’s face flushed with anger.
What a lunatic!
One sentence, and he expected her to comply as if she were nothing more than an object.
“I don’t have time for your nonsense. Open the door.”
Ignoring his devastatingly handsome face, she thought, if he walked down the street, there’d be plenty of people willing to stay with him. Why focus on her? She wasn’t for sale.
“You know how to talk back? And you say you’re not that kind of woman?” Chenyu completely ignored her anger, instead finding amusement in her words.
“Enough! I’m not for sale, period!”
Geyao turned to try the door again, but it wouldn’t budge.
Damn it! The remote was in his hand, but could she dare to grab it? Getting close might be like throwing a bone to a dog.
Even if she managed to get the remote, could she really leave?
She was wearing nothing but a men’s shirt, with nothing underneath. Walking out like this, who knows what she’d encounter on the way home?
Last time, she was lucky because she was close to home, but now she didn’t even know where she was. Who could guarantee she’d make it back safely this time?
Shen Geyao found herself in a tough spot.
“Where are my clothes?” she asked, trying to shift the conversation to ease the tension. She was afraid he might do something reckless if the atmosphere remained so awkward.
“They’re being washed,” the man lounging on the bed replied lazily.
Shen Geyao was taken aback. Servants? That meant there were other people around, so she definitely wasn’t in a hotel. But where was she? His place?
Realizing this, Shen Geyao quickly turned around and, feigning urgency, banged on the door. “Fire! Fire! Open the door! Help!”
Unfortunately, her hopes were dashed. No one outside paid any attention. Plus, her throat was still raw from the smoke she had inhaled earlier. After just a bit of shouting, it felt swollen and painful.
“Come have some water to soothe your throat. You’ll need your voice,” Liang Chenyu chuckled, clearly amused.
Shen Geyao didn’t catch the underlying meaning in his words, but she was feeling defeated. She understood now—this was his territory. No matter how much she yelled, no one would come.
Glaring back at him, she demanded, “Open the door, cough... I want to go home!”
“You’re in no shape to be stubborn. Come drink some water.”
His voice was still as pleasant as ever, but to her ears, it sounded like a cunning wolf trying to lure a little rabbit into a trap.
She instinctively wanted to refuse, but her throat was sore, and her head was pounding, making her feel a bit woozy. Shen Geyao shook her head vigorously. No way, she couldn't pass out now, or she'd be in big trouble tonight. She shot him a sharp look before cautiously walking over to grab the cup by the bedside table and gulped down some water.
From the bed, Liang Chenyu's smooth, magnetic voice echoed pleasantly in her ears: "That's right, drink more. Otherwise, your voice won't sound good tonight."
Tonight... voice? What did he mean? Shen Geyao was momentarily stunned, her mind struggling to process. When she finally caught on, she nearly choked, spitting out the water she had just swallowed. She quickly stepped back, her small hands clenched into fists, her face flushed. "You jerk! You... you... pervert!"
No wonder he suddenly seemed so 'concerned' about her throat; he had ulterior motives. "So, you don't know many curse words, huh?" Liang Chenyu tossed aside the remote and strode toward her. "Ah~ I'm warning you, don't come any closer."
That really scared her, and she backed away in a panic, like a frightened deer, anxious and uneasy.
More embarrassing was that this damn fool didn't even bother with a robe, wearing nothing but a pair of... well, you know!
His broad chest exuded a rugged beauty, his lean waist was perfection itself, and beneath those... well, you know, were those defined lines leading down, along with those impossibly long, well-proportioned legs.
Damn, this guy's physique was incredible.
She knew she shouldn't be looking, but as he charged forward, she had no choice but to focus on his movements to protect herself. Yet, her gaze kept getting drawn in despite herself.
By the time she realized the danger, his strong frame was already right in front of her.
