C34 You You Actually Helped an Outsider!
"Murder comes with consequences. You ruin me, and you won't escape either!"
Shen Geyao tried reasoning with Liang Yuqi while desperately dodging the knife in Yuqi's hand.
Yuqi, unfazed and arrogant, sneered, "Taking out someone like you is no different than squashing an ant."
"You think I need to pay for your life? What a joke! Even if I did end you, my parents wouldn't say a word!"
This girl, barely nineteen, was already so twisted, believing money and power could justify anything.
With a fruit knife in her hand, it was clear to Geyao that reasoning was pointless. She had to get out before getting hurt.
Geyao turned and ran for the door, hoping the crowd outside would deter this lunatic.
But just as she reached the door, she tripped over something unseen.
With a gasp, she hit the ground hard. Before she could get up, Yuqi's knife was already at her face.
Yuqi's eyes gleamed with a bloodthirsty excitement, showing no remorse for her actions. Instead, she was thrilled at the thought of disfiguring Geyao.
"Help!" Shen Geyao bit her lip, just as the knife was about to cut her, she suddenly struck out with her palm.
"Ah!" The knife in Liang Yuqi's hand was knocked askew, but as she lunged at Shen Geyao, she didn't even think about stopping. Even though the knife was deflected, her body still landed on top of Shen Geyao.
The metallic scent of blood filled the air instantly as the two fell to the ground, tangled together, clearly indicating someone was hurt.
"What happened?" Hearing Shen Geyao's cry for help, Liang Xinghao, who had just stepped out of the room, strode over. With a swift motion, he pulled Liang Yuqi off Shen Geyao.
Someone was indeed injured; both were covered in blood, but it was obvious that Liang Yuqi was the one who got hurt.
"It hurts so much, this witch cut me, it hurts," Liang Yuqi cried, her tears flowing, her earlier malice now replaced by vulnerability.
"Mr. Hao, this woman hurt me, it hurts so much!" she sobbed.
Liang Xinghao walked over and helped her up. Sure enough, there was a cut on her arm. It wasn't too serious, but blood was pooling on the floor.
Liang Yueyin also emerged from the room, looking as if she had been frightened out of her wits.
Pointing at Shen Geyao, her voice trembled, "This woman actually stabbed Yuqi with a knife. She's... she's terrifying, Mr. Hao!"
Even Liang Yueyin, frightened out of her wits, started crying, her whole body shaking uncontrollably.
Shen Geyao was genuinely stunned this time, her understanding of the situation completely upended. The acting here was Oscar-worthy!
Hearing the commotion, people rushed upstairs, with Liang Yuqi's parents leading the charge. Seeing their daughter injured, Third Madam Lu Qiaoyun exclaimed, "Doctor, get a doctor here, quick!"
Suddenly, everyone was bustling around.
The doctor arrived promptly and treated Liang Yuqi's wounds in the living room. By the time her injuries were taken care of, a crowd had gathered.
No one dared disturb the old lady, who was still resting at this hour.
Third Master Liang Junhui shot a cold glare at Shen Geyao before turning to Liang Yuqi, "What happened? Why did this woman attack you with a knife?"
Hearing Liang Junhui's words, Shen Geyao almost let out a bitter laugh. Wasn't he clearly siding with his daughter? His words already assumed she was the one who hurt Liang Yuqi.
Mrs. Lu Qiaoyun's intentions were crystal clear, needing no further scrutiny. She clutched her daughter, overwhelmed with emotion.
"Don't be afraid, sweetheart. Tell your father how this woman hurt you, and I promise, I'll make sure she pays for it!"
Liang Yuqi, looking utterly wronged, sobbed, "Yueyin and I heard that Mr. Hao brought his fiancée home, so we thought we'd go and greet her."
"How dare you, a daughter of the Liang family, bow to a commoner?" Lu Qiaoyun was so furious her fists clenched tightly.
Liang Junhui, though silent, clearly agreed with his wife's sentiments.
Yuqi continued, "We went to see this woman, and she said our greeting wasn't sincere because we didn't kneel."
"You wretched woman!" Lu Qiaoyun suddenly grabbed the scissors the doctor had used to bandage Yuqi and hurled them forcefully at Shen Geyao.
Shen Geyao realized she couldn't find words to describe this family's outrageous behavior. No words could capture their absurdity!
She stood there, with Liang Xinghao beside her, and someone else on the other side, leaving her no room to dodge.
In a split second, she raised her hand to shield her face, prioritizing its protection.
Lu Qiaoyun had aimed the scissors right at her face!
The nurse standing next to Shen Geyao quickly stepped aside, fearing she might get caught in the crossfire.
Just when everyone thought Shen Geyao was about to get hurt, a large hand suddenly reached out and caught the scissors firmly.
Xinghao casually tossed the scissors back onto the coffee table, creating a loud bang. It seemed like the table was about to crack from the impact!
"Xinghao, you're taking her side?" Lu Qiaoyun was incredulous. "Yuqi is your sister!"
Even if she's a cousin, she's still family! They share the same blood!
Xinghao looked down at Shen Geyao, who was pale, and asked calmly, "What exactly happened?"
"You're asking her?" Lu Qiaoyun was furious. "You haven't even asked, and you're already siding with this woman!"
Sitting on the sofa, Liang Yuqi cried even more pitifully, "I promise I'll behave from now on. I'll even kneel and pay my respects to her."
"That's nonsense! Why show respect to someone like her?" Lu Qiaoyun, protective of her daughter, felt her heart ache at Yuqi's tears.
Liang Junhui also felt for his daughter, looking at Xinghao with a somewhat amicable expression. But his words were heavily biased. "Xinghao, even though she's your fiancée, you need to respect the facts."
"The fact is," Shen Geyao was done being the silent victim, "these people are all out of their minds!"
"The woman barged into my room and tried to make me take off my dress. When I refused, she threw a vase at me and tried to stab me with a knife!"
"What nonsense are you spouting? How dare you slander my daughter? I'll make you pay for this!" Lu Qiaoyun couldn't hold back any longer and reached for something on the coffee table.
"Third Aunt, if you make another move, I'll have to ask Grandpa to step in and handle this," Liang Xinghao said, his eyes fixed on her restless hand, his expression blank but his words growing colder.
"You—you’re actually siding with an outsider!" Lu Qiaoyun complained, but finally withdrew her hand.
Liang Junhui was also upset. "Xinghao, I never thought you'd let yourself be swayed by a pretty face. Your uncle is very disappointed in you!"
