C71

The collapse of the city gate had caused the confidence of the several hundred gatekeepers at the gate to collapse as well. Their trembling hands looked at the broken iron plates of the city gate and their shaky weapons fell to the ground with tinkling sounds.

Seeing that the city gate had collapsed, Li Ye shouted towards Zhu Gufeng, who was covered in blood, "Gufeng, let's go!"

He then looked at the other flying fish spies who were still bathing in blood and killing the enemy, and said loudly: "All of you, quickly leave, I'll cover the back!" As he finished speaking, he rushed towards the guards who had lost their will to fight. He waved the green flag in his hand horizontally, creating a white sword qi that slashed down dozens of armored warriors.

Seeing that someone was leaving first, the remaining fourteen flying fish spies withdrew their weapons and quickly left the battle formation. They jumped onto their horses and followed Zhu Gu Feng towards the entrance, Zhong Zhangle gazed at Li Ye and opened his mouth slightly, wanting to say something to Li Ye. Li Ye turned his head to look at him, smiled and nodded, then used his horse to pat his butt.

"Go, stop them!" Ding Liangcai saw the spies fleeing in front of him recover from their shock and shouted while waving his spear.

"If you want to stop them, you have to pass through me first!" The green flag was unsheathed and instantly returned, leaving behind a row of corpses, scaring the soldiers in front of him to the point of stopping them in their tracks.

Li Ye took a step back, bent his legs, and gripped the incoming spear with both hands. When Ding Liangshuang saw Li Ye stop his horse, he pinched his legs, and with a whooshing sound, he charged towards Li Ye once again. Li Ye's foot was deeply embedded in the ground, and a deep gully appeared beneath his feet.

Ding Liangcai was overjoyed to see Li Ye's trembling hands struggling to support the charging steed. He ordered the soldiers behind him in a loud voice, "Kill them!" With an order, the soldiers behind him walked in orderly steps, wielding their long spears and sabers as they hacked and stabbed at Li Ye.

Li Ye took a step back and gave up defending against the horse that was coming at him. He rolled to the side and grabbed the horse that was coming down. The green flag suddenly came out of its scabbard and a silver light flashed. The horse fell to the ground with a scream.

Li Ye caught the weapon that came smashing down with his arms, dodged the spear coming down sideways, pulled out the green flag from his waist, stabbed it into his own soldier's body, held the spear, and handed it to him behind his back. He pushed the soldier to the ground, stepped on his body, and crushed his head, while at the same time, the green flag in his hand swept horizontally and cut through the surrounding crowd.

Before Li Ye could retract the green flag in his hand, a cold light flashed and a red tasseled spear pierced towards Li Ye's chest. Li Ye sidestepped the spear, barely dodging Ding Liang's attack.

Li Ye pushed himself up from the ground and howled at the approaching soldiers. The blade of the green banner in his hand slashed horizontally, and several armored riders fell to the ground. After sending the horse and its rider flying a few steps, Li Ye stood up and jumped behind another rider. He grabbed the sharp blade at the rider's waist, stabbed it into his body, knocked the rider off his horse with one palm, and rode the horse to escape out of the city gate.

Ding Liangcai saw that Li Ye was about to run away and felt a bit panicked. He dragged the iron spear from the hands of a soldier beside him and threw it towards the fine steed beneath Li Ye.

Li Ye felt the strong wind behind him and hurriedly turned around to slash away the iron spear that was thrown at him. However, he only managed to cut off half of the incoming iron spear, while the remaining half of the spear continued to pierce towards the horse at Li Ye's crotch.

"Hundreds of people are chasing after one person. Isn't that a little unorthodox?" Li Ye jumped up from his horse and was about to counterattack when he heard a familiar voice behind him. It was Zhao Zijin, who was slowly approaching.

Zhao Zijin looked at Li Ye with a smile and nodded slightly. He held the teapot in his hand, looked at the water in his mouth, and drank a few mouthfuls. He said in a low voice, "I'm afraid it's not appropriate to fight so many people?"

"Who are you?" Ding Liangcai said in a cold voice as he saw someone disturbing him. He looked at Zhao Zijin with displeasure.

Zhao Zijin looked at the horse with a smile and said, "He's just a weak scholar who can't stand watching these people."

"Men, drag this blabbermouth person away!" Ding Liangcai frowned and gave the order while looking at Zhao Zijin.

Just like that, he carried a teapot as he looked at the soldier holding a sharp blade. A black shadow came out from behind Zhao Zijin and knocked out the surrounding soldiers. Li Ye noticed that the black shadow was the young maid who often followed Zhao Zijin.

Zhao Zijin turned his head towards Zhao Ning and laughed. Ding Liangcai, who was pointing at the horse, spoke in a low voice, "That's him!"

Ding Liangcai didn't even have time to react before he was hit in the chest by a small hand. He let out a muffled groan as he was knocked off his horse, and Zhao Ning rode the horse he had snatched away and slowly walked into Zhao Zijin's yard. He jumped off the horse and held onto the reins, waiting for his master's next order.

Zhao Zijin smiled and waved at Li Ye. Li Ye nodded and walked over. Zhao Zijin passed the reins to Li Ye and said in a low voice, "You can run. Leave the rest to me."

Li Ye looked at Zhao Zijin in shock. The latter just smiled, as if he didn't say anything, and turned his head to look at the hundreds of soldiers, nodding towards Zhao Ning. Zhao Ning then said to Li Ye, "Follow me!"

Li Ye immediately mounted his horse and charged out with Zhao Ning's steps. Zhao Ning was responsible for stabbing Li Ye, while Li Ye was responsible for clearing the way. Ding Liangcai climbed up from the ground to stop the movements of the two Earth Immortals. With this sentence, Li Ye had the chance to run out of the city gate.

After rushing out of the city, Li Ye turned his head to look at Zhao Zijin, who had assured Li Ye that he would run for his life. Seeing Li Ye leave, Zhao Zijin sat cross-legged on Zhao Ning's lap, who had rushed back, and looked at the gatekeeper in front of him. Feeling the tens of thousands of soldiers coming in unison, he gently put down the teapot and cup in his hand and poured a cup of tea for the people in front of him, "Everyone sit down and have a cup of tea!"

In ancient times, there was a way to retreat Qin Shi, but today, there was Zhao Zijin who retreated ten thousand enemies.
