C10 It Was Not Wasted!

"Allie, you're tired. Let this brat go and do nothing. How can you eat without working?" Clement pulled Allie to let her rest.

Nick knew that his grandfather liked little girls, so he could only accept his fate and obediently go inside to fill the rice bowl and then bring it out.

The three of them sat together on the small square table. It was a perfect meal. There were five dishes on the table, which was a bit too much.

The three dishes were chicken soup, egg soup, stir-fried cabbage, braised fish, and dried bean curd. The dishes were very homegrown, but each of them was cooked exquisitely. This girl had spent quite a lot of effort to get Clement.

"Is the City Hospital good?" Clement asked.

Nick did not say much, "Very good."

"When do you plan to find a partner?" The second question came from the parent.

"I don't plan to." Allie felt as if a mouthful of white rice was stuck in her throat. She couldn't help but cough. Seeing that the two of them were staring at her, she immediately stood up and went to get some water.

What was wrong with this girl? Nick was puzzled.

However, it was pretty good. Allie stopped her grandfather's question, so he escaped the calamity.

"Do you plan to die alone?" Allie's hand that was holding the cup of water slowly turned white. She turned the glass cup a few times, but she did not turn around. She only focused on drinking the water. Even though there was no water in the cup anymore.

Previously, Clement had only jokingly said that he would introduce her to his grandson. She was afraid. At this time, Clement wanted to bring it up, but Nick did not seem to have any intention of doing so.

"Grandfather, I don't want to think about love," Nick said in a roundabout manner.

Nick picked up a chicken leg and placed it on his rice. "Do you know how old I am this year? You want me to go underground, and you can't explain to your parents?"

"Don't force me with that."

"I don't care about you anymore. Don't bother me, old man."

Allie put down her cup and returned to her seat. She asked, "Dr. Delgado, I think I should leave this scene of forced marriage?"

"Grandfather, there are other people eating here. Don't say anything that makes people unable to eat." Nick was glad that she had helped him out.

Clement glanced at Allie. Since when did these two people have a problem with each other? Allie immediately lowered her head and started to eat after being glanced at.

Why did this girl become so strange after Nick came?

They had a full lunch because Allie was very good at cooking. It was rare for Nick to eat such a homegrown dish. His grandfather was also in a good mood under her care.

Nick walked to the kitchen and rolled up his sleeves. "You... I will wash the dishes."

"It's fine. You go and accompany Dr. Delgado. I'll do it."

"He doesn't want me to accompany him."

"Actually... Dr. Delgado doesn't usually talk about you like this..." She lowered her head and didn't dare to look up. She didn't dare to look at him for a few more times.

"I know." Nick was already washing the dishes in the sink.

When Clement walked over, he saw Allie leaning against the door while Nick was washing the dishes. He couldn't help but nod in satisfaction.

When he was done washing, Allie took a towel and wiped it dry.

The two of them were much more familiar with each other now that they had worked together.

Sure enough, they were getting more and more familiar with each other.

"Miss Potter, Miss Potter..."

"Someone's calling me. I'll go out for a while." Hearing the anxious cries, Allie threw down the bowl and the towel and walked out.

Nick followed him out.

It was an old lady. She was quite old. She took a glance at Nick and pulled Allie to her side. "Miss Potter, my Ah Huang is about to give birth. It's a difficult birth. No matter what, he won't be born."

"I will go with you." Allie picked up her medical kit and followed her. Thinking about how Nick was still flirting with her, she walked back. "I need to go to the village."

"Do you need help?" Nick asked. After all, it was a difficult delivery. Shouldn't she go to the hospital right away?

He was suspicious.

"You are a great doctor. It doesn't seem like you need to use me," Allie said bluntly.
