C12 Indifferent
With a sudden splash, a torrent of water cascaded onto Soong Qian's face. As the basin was pulled away, it revealed the smirking face of Sunn Yuanhann, his eyes narrowed with a casual indifference.
Soong Qian had only been knocked out, not drugged, so there was no way she could sleep through such a commotion. She jolted upright from the bed, shivering from the cold, her voice small yet filled with a haunting sadness.
Standing on the soaked bed, Soong Qian blinked in confusion, water droplets clinging to her eyelashes. Her pale face looked especially pitiful.
Yuanhann, however, showed no sympathy. The basin was discarded somewhere, and he stood at the bedside, arms crossed, his eyes full of mockery. His tone was cold, "Oh, finally decided to wake up?"
"What did you do to me?"
The moment she saw the arrogant man who had misunderstood her that morning, Soong Qian instinctively stepped back, her eyes wary and her tone hostile.
Hearing her words, Yuanhann's striking eyes narrowed slightly. He casually grabbed a tissue from the nearby coffee table and leisurely wiped the water droplets from his chest.
Watching her instinctive reaction, he smiled slightly, his gaze fixed on her for a few seconds before letting out a cold chuckle. "Ha, I'm not desperate enough to settle for just anything."
With that, Sunn Yuanhann lowered his head, pulled out another tissue, wiped his fingertips, and tossed it aside. His tone implied: Do you really think you're worth it?
Soong Qian was instantly furious, her eyes wide with anger, pupils narrowing. Suddenly, memories from before she lost consciousness came rushing back, and she remembered why she was there. The thought of the menacing loan sharks and the crushing debt she couldn't repay made her heart clench with pain. Her fingers curled into a fist, knuckles turning pale.
Swallowing hard, Soong Qian was about to speak when Sunn Yuanhann interrupted her. He laughed leisurely, his face relaxed yet mocking. But if you looked closely, his eyes were full of sarcasm. "So, have you remembered why you ended up in my bed?"
He raised an eyebrow slightly, his well-shaped lips curving into a half-smile, while his long fingers tapped idly on his left palm.
"You..." Soong Qian, who had initially planned to apologize, was instantly angered. Her expression was strikingly fierce, her eyebrows arching high as she snapped like a firecracker, "You're just too much! No wonder the woman you like doesn't like you back."
"What did you say?"
Suddenly, a dark, chilling aura flashed in Sunn Yuanhann's eyes. His lips curled into a dangerous smirk that was hard to meet head-on, and his whole demeanor turned ominous. "I dare you to say that again."
Ordinarily, Soong Qian wasn't very brave, but for some reason, her courage surged this time—perhaps she was just that furious. Standing on the bed, she locked eyes with Sunn Yuanhann and, in a decidedly unladylike manner, loudly repeated, "You're so arrogant and cold-hearted; no wonder the woman you like doesn't like you."
As soon as the words left her mouth, a sharp pain shot through her wrist, and before she could react, she was thrown onto the bed with a force that left her lying on the cold, wet sheets.
