C16 Each Kiss Was Louder than the Last

The pitch of her voice rose with each note, captivating the entire audience and leaving them spellbound, forgetting the dance and noise around them. All eyes were fixed on the petite woman on stage.

In the VIP section, seated on a deep purple sofa, Zhong Luo sipped his drink while watching the woman in white. Her powerful performance was matched by her striking makeup, which added a cool allure to her presence.

"Wow, who would've thought such a small bar would have such an amazing talent?" he remarked.

"Yeah," replied another man, briefly looking up from his laptop. He squinted at the woman on stage, a flicker of recognition crossing his eyes before he returned to his work. "I feel like I've seen her somewhere before."

He had indeed seen Soong Qian before.

Intrigued by his friend's comment, Zhong Luo leaned in, blocking the man's screen with a mischievous grin. "Come on, where have you seen this beauty?"

"You really want to know?" The man glanced at Zhong Luo, who nodded eagerly, like a pecking chick.

A hint of amusement flashed in his eyes, but his expression remained neutral as he returned to his laptop. In a calm, clear voice, he said, "Call Director Sunn and tell him there's a stunning talent at the Inferno Bar worth seeing."

"Why are you calling Sunn Yuanhann?" Zhong Luo paused, noticing the subtle smile on the man's face, and suddenly seemed to understand something. First, he was surprised, then he started to laugh. If he guessed right, things were about to get interesting.

...

When Sunn Yuanhann arrived, the atmosphere was at its peak. Soong Qian's time was up, and she was getting ready to leave, while the crowd below chanted for an encore. On stage, Soong Qian smiled softly at everyone, her gentle demeanor shining through her stage persona. Her clear voice rang out, "Thank you all for your support, but my time is up for today. If you enjoy my singing, please come back tomorrow."

As soon as Sunn Yuanhann walked in, a server escorted him to a deep purple VIP seat. Noticing his arrival, Yann Jincheng didn't even look up, casually tapping away on his laptop. Catching Sunn Yuanhann's presence out of the corner of his eye, he spoke in a relaxed tone, "Director Sunn, that escort you mentioned seems quite intriguing."

Although Yann Jincheng was Sunn Yuanhann's secretary, they had been close since childhood, sharing a bond that went beyond professional duties. Outside of work, their conversations were as casual as those between true brothers.

Hearing Yann Jincheng's words, Sunn Yuanhann suddenly realized that this was the same bar where he had met Soong Qian.

With a detached gaze, he looked up. In front of him, the sharp-tongued woman was now focused on a heavily made-up face standing on stage, singing the final song for everyone shouting "Encore."

By the time he heard it, the song had reached its climax. The woman's usually cool voice now carried a hint of hoarseness and breathlessness, like a drop of water hitting hot oil, making the already blazing fire burn even more intensely.
