C19 Cold Laugh
With a smirk playing on his lips, Scar's face twisted with mockery as he sneered at Soong Qian. "Ha, Soong Qian, don't think you can outsmart me. I originally planned to knock you out and deliver you to Sunn Yuanhann's bed, making a tidy profit and clearing our debts. But you managed to escape, leaving me with nothing but losses. Now, how should I settle this score with you?"
Black Bear's face was filled with a menacing grin, and the two henchmen behind him drew small knives that glinted under the light. Casually, Black Bear took a knife from one of his men and brought it to Soong Qian's face, the sharp blade tracing her skin. Terrified, Soong Qian stood frozen, tears streaming down her cheeks.
Seeing her like this seemed to amuse Black Bear, and he chuckled, lowering his voice to a threatening whisper. "Such a pretty face. It'd be a shame if it got accidentally cut, don't you think, Soong Qian?"
Too scared to move, Soong Qian kept her head down, eyes fixed on the knife at her throat. Her gaze lifted slightly, pleadingly meeting Black Bear's, her long lashes fluttering pitifully.
However, the bear remained unfazed, flicking the knife downward with a sharp "thud" as it embedded into the table. The gleaming blade reflected the bear's face. "Soong Qian, this is your last warning. If you don't pay up this month, I'll come for your life."
"Do you understand?"
"Yes, yes, I understand," Soong Qian nodded repeatedly, like a nervous bird pecking at grains, terrified that any delay might provoke another threat from the bear.
Satisfied, the bear left with his two henchmen, laughing as they exited. The door was left wide open, and even as Soong Qian collapsed onto the sofa, she could hear them clearly.
Sweat poured down her face, cold beads trickling from her forehead. No matter how strong Soong Qian tried to appear, deep down she was still a woman who longed for protection and care, not the situation she found herself in now.
After a while, Soong Qian regained her composure. A man in a clean, white tracksuit walked in from outside. He stopped in front of her, crouched down, and gently covered her small hand with his. His eyes were full of emotion as he slowly took a tissue from the coffee table and tenderly wiped the tears from her face.
"Hey, don't cry."
The man's voice was warm, and it quickly brought Soong Qian back to her senses. When she opened her eyes, she saw the man in front of her was none other than her neighbor, Mr. Moo.
"Mr. Moo." Soong Qian quickly stood up, a hint of nervousness in her voice.
She didn't want anyone to know about her situation, not for her own sake, but to ensure her mother in the psychiatric hospital could have some peace.
Mr. Moo handed her a tissue, smiling gently, exuding warmth. "Soong Qian, I heard everything from outside the door."
"What?" Soong Qian looked up, stunned and incredulous.
"Yes," Mr. Moo nodded. "I heard it all, and I want to help you. To be honest, I've liked you since the day you moved in."
