C12 He Was Exposed

The Weight Increasing Machine was malfunctioning.

Other combat groups might be unaware, but he was intimately familiar with the Flying Eagle Combat Group. Not once had they ever had a new recruit, or rather, a military doctor, who could run with a minimum load of 75 kilograms right from the start of training.

Consider that even General Edi, hailed as the All-round Champion, could run five kilometers carrying a weight between 75 and 100 kilograms, but he wasn't capable of this feat when he first enlisted. If you're skeptical, just review General Edi's service record.

For a new recruit, one might attribute such strength to pre-enlistment fitness training or even natural-born power! But this was a doctor we're talking about! Not just any doctor, but a particularly petite female doctor!

The instructor moved discreetly to a corner of the Training Field and dialed General Edi's number.

"Hello! Colonel Cleo George speaking. I'm Major Sean, General Edi's adjutant. How may I assist you?"

Sean's official tone came through the phone. Colonel Cleo managed to compose himself before speaking, "Major Sean, please inform General Edi to check the Sky Eye on the Training Field and review the data from Dr. Yang Chuxia's Weight Increasing Machine."

Sean was momentarily taken aback by Colonel Cleo's request! Dr. Yang's Weight Increasing Machine data? But sensing the gravity in Colonel Cleo's voice, he responded promptly, "Understood! Colonel Cleo, I'll relay your message to General Edi right away."

After the call, Sean entered Edi's office and conveyed Colonel Cleo's message.

Upon hearing the report, Edi nodded and instructed, "Activate the Sky Eye for the Training Field's running track."

The footage from the running track at the Training Field quickly appeared on the large screen in front of Edi's desk. Clicking on the running figure of Yang Chuxia, the image zoomed in to reveal the Weight Increasing Machine's display: she was advancing with a 95-kilogram load and had already covered one kilometer.

Sean, gazing at the screen, was agape with astonishment. Dr. Yang, whose stature was akin to that of a middle schooler, had incredibly run two kilometers carrying 95 kilograms?

Edi's expression grew somber as he swiftly switched the video to the moment Yang Chuxia began strapping on the first Weight Increasing Machine and replayed the footage. He fast-forwarded to the point where Cleo fitted her with the last Weight Increasing Machine.

The footage revealed that when she officially started her sprint on the track, the Weight Increasing Machine registered a load of 100 kilograms. As she ran, the weight was gradually adjusted to match her physical capacity, eventually reducing to 95 kilograms.

Yang Chuxia began her five-kilometer run with a 100-kilogram load, and it wasn't until she had covered two kilometers that the weight dropped to 95 kilograms. By the end of the course, the Weight Increasing Machine would likely only decrease to 80 kilograms at most! She must possess extraordinary strength, have undergone specialized training, or have some unique ability.

Edi's face remained stern, but he betrayed no sign of astonishment; he simply kept his gaze fixed on Yang Chuxia on the screen.

Sean, however, couldn't contain his amazement. "General, could Dr. Yang possess some kind of special ability? To start a run carrying 100 kilograms is astounding! It's no wonder she has such an appetite."

Edi's eyes turned icy as he picked up the phone and called Major Cliff Reg of the Military Intelligence Bureau. "I have something to show you," he said before hanging up and sending over the footage of Yang Chuxia's weighted run.

Three minutes later, Cliff initiated a video call, his face a picture of shock as he addressed the brooding Edi. "Good heavens! The Flying Eagle Combat Group has hit the jackpot, recruiting someone with paranormal abilities! What was the Ministry of War thinking, sneaking such a formidable soldier into your ranks without making a peep?"

Edi massaged his temples and replied gravely, "She's not a recruit; she's a doctor who was assigned here alongside the new soldiers."

"A doctor?" Cliff was taken aback. After a deep breath, he said, "You mean to tell me that the doctor training with the recruits is actually a medical professional? Edi, that's quite the stretch! Since when does the Flying Eagle Combat Group require doctors to undergo military training?"

With a piercing look, Edi sent over Yang Chuxia's details to Cliff.

Once Cliff confirmed that Yang Chuxia was indeed just a doctor, his expression turned wonderfully animated. Catching Edi's displeased look, Cliff realized he had a rare chance to rib the General and he wasn't about to let it slip by.

He burst into uncontrollable laughter. The soldiers of the Flying Eagle Combat Group couldn't even outperform a doctor—a resounding slap in the face for Edi! "I suggest you put the doctor on the front line. Hahaha…"

Watching Cliff's unrestrained laughter, Edi spoke icily, "Had your fill of laughter? Once you're done, get to work and dig up everything on Dr. Yang Chuxia. I want her complete background, including her family history."

Cliff's laughter ceased, and his face turned grave. "Do you suspect she's been sent by the planet Dimalala?" He pondered briefly before adding skeptically, "If Dr. Yang Chuxia were a spy from Dimalala, wouldn't that be a bit too foolish?"

Edi's tone was ominous as he replied, "Better safe than sorry. Caution is the Military Intelligence Bureau's byword."

"Got it. I'll also arrange for her genetic testing," Cliff responded earnestly. Despite the earlier levity, he knew such matters were not to be taken lightly.

Edi nodded, ending the video call with Cliff. He then issued a command to Lieutenant Colonel Cleo, "After she completes the five-kilometer run, have Sergeant Yang Chuxia keep running until she can't anymore." He was determined to test the limits of Yang Chuxia's endurance.
