C21 He Was Stupid

After everyone had left, Sean notified the treatment department to dispatch a Medical Robot.

Yang Chuxia had eaten a bit too much and, fearing that Edi would want to start immediately, she didn't sit down. Instead, she paced around him.

Edi, feeling dizzy from her pacing, couldn't resist saying, "Could you not walk around in front of me?"

With an "Ah!" Yang Chuxia quickly moved to the aisle, three meters away, and continued her pacing.

Amused, Sean approached and asked, "What's the matter, too full?"

Sheepishly, Yang Chuxia replied, "A little. I'm worried I'll feel uncomfortable if we start fighting, so I'm trying to give myself time to digest."

Sean glanced at Edi, who appeared to be meditating in his chair, oblivious to the conversation, and reassured her, "Don't worry, you've got a few minutes before the Medical Robot arrives."

Noticing a red patch on her forehead, he inquired, "Why is your forehead red?" He reached out but didn't touch her.

Edi interjected abruptly, "Sean, have you finished your tasks?"

Sean's expression froze, and he withdrew his hand, responding, "No!"

Edi instructed coolly, "Go stand outside the door and wait for the Medical Robot."

Sean's face was a picture of surprise. The general was sending him to wait for the robot? He muttered to himself, "Jealousy is no reason to treat me like this," but aloud, he said, "Yes, General, I'm on it."

Yang Chuxia's mouth fell open, but she held back her words. She thought, "General Edi is being petty! He's upset with me and taking it out on those who show concern. I should probably keep my distance from now on." She quietly moved even further away.

Five minutes later, the Medical Robot entered the Fighting Field.

Yang Chuxia had expected Edi to call her to the field right away, considering his role as the Supreme Commander of the Flying Eagle Combat Group and his busy schedule.

To her surprise, Edi remained silent, removed his jacket, placed it on the chair, and walked to the training area partitioned off from the Fighting Field to warm up with the punching bags.

Yang Chuxia had never ventured into the training area before. Watching Edi punch, she was fascinated to see the force of his strikes displayed on the sandbag. The itch to try it herself was unbearable.

She approached the training area and, following Edi's lead, scanned her hand's identity imprint on the scanner. The screen on the sandbag illuminated instantly.

With a solid punch, Yang Chuxia hit the sandbag, and the green numbers flickered before settling at 50. Unsure of what that number represented in terms of strength, she looked over at Edi with eyes brimming with curiosity.

Edi, wiping sweat from his brow, came over and glanced at the display. "Fifty kilograms. Are you telling me that's all you've got without using your inner strength? Did you put your full force into it?"

Drenched in sweat, Yang Chuxia felt that for her slight frame, managing a 50-kilogram punch was quite an achievement. She replied, "Pretty much!"

Edi took a step back and challenged her, "Try hitting it with everything you've got."

"My strength isn't in my hands; it's in my legs," Yang Chuxia explained, speaking the truth since she had been practicing the horse stance since she was three.

"Then use your legs," Edi suggested.

Hesitant, Yang Chuxia worried, "Oh no, what if I break it? I don't have to pay for it, do I? I haven't even earned a salary yet."

Edi's mouth twitched slightly as he assured her, "Relax, if it breaks, I'll cover the cost."

Her face lit up with a broad smile as she declared, "Alright! You better not renege on that promise."

Sean, overhearing from a distance, quickly turned away to hide his amusement. It seemed General Edi's credibility was somewhat lacking in Yang Chuxia's eyes!

Edi's brow furrowed as he pressed, "Are you going to kick or not?"

Without hesitation, Yang Chuxia affirmed, "I'll kick!" She stepped back five paces, leaped forward, and delivered a powerful kick to the sandbag. It soared with a loud thud, hitting the training area's ceiling before swinging back down.

Startled by the commotion, Sean hurried over to check the aftermath of Yang Chuxia's impressive display of power.

Edi halted the sandbag with his towering presence, obscuring the data displayed on its screen from Yang Chuxia's view. Her heart raced with worry that her kick might have actually damaged it, and that Edi wouldn't take responsibility.

After a moment of silence, Edi finally announced, "150 kilograms!"

Sean let out a hiss, stopping in his tracks. That was truly impressive; a single kick had unleashed such tremendous power!

Yet Edi's expression was far from satisfied. He instructed Yang Chuxia, "Use your internal energy to punch and then kick it again."

Sean, upon hearing the term 'internal energy,' paused, a look of utter confusion crossing his face as he turned to Yang Chuxia.

With a firm "Yes, General!" Yang Chuxia approached the sandbag and, channeling her internal energy, threw a punch that tore through the high-quality yellow leather, leaving a gaping hole.

Edi was left speechless.

Sean was equally at a loss for words.

"The data hasn't changed," Yang Chuxia stammered.

Edi gave her a look and said slowly, "The sandbag's torn to shreds; how could the data still be intact?"

Sean couldn't help but snicker behind his fist.

Embarrassed, Yang Chuxia suggested, "Should I try kicking this one over here?"

Edi replied, "You've already punched through a sandbag with your fist. Do you think kicking it will actually produce any data?" His tone carried a hint of playful sarcasm.

Flustered, Yang Chuxia explained, "I thought you wanted to see my flying kick, General."

Sean burst into laughter, unable to contain himself any longer. This girl's charm was undeniable!

With a tone of resignation, Edi remarked, "Dr. Yang Chuxia, I'm beginning to question the legitimacy of your medical credentials!"

Yang Chuxia's face turned beet red with indignation. "General, that's a blatant insult to my intelligence! According to the Union..."

"Enough! Enough, Dr. Yang..." Edi quickly cut her off, clarifying, "I'm not insulting your intelligence. I'm simply frustrated that you seem to be dragging down mine."

"General, you..." Yang Chuxia's lips quivered with anger. After a brief pause, she retorted, "A truly intelligent person is not so easily influenced by others!"

Sean was on the verge of giving her a standing ovation. After all, not many women could leave General Edi at a loss for words with their wit!

After speaking, Yang Chuxia suddenly realized she had been disrespectful to the Supreme Commander and was immediately filled with regret.

To her surprise, Edi merely gave her a glance and said coolly, "Alright! Let Sean be the referee, and let's head to the Fighting Platform."

With a smile, Sean gestured for her to proceed, and they walked shoulder to shoulder to the Fighting Platform, where Edi was already standing at the center.

Once both were in position, Sean began the countdown, "Ten, nine, eight, seven..."

As he reached one, Edi made the first move with a swift right hook aimed at Yang Chuxia. No longer concealing her abilities, she did not resort to the typical ducking or blocking maneuvers. Instead, she dropped to the ground, her left elbow striking the Fighting Platform, followed by her right leg sweeping up towards the joint behind Edi's left knee. Edi lifted his leg to evade.

Yang Chuxia's left foot then targeted a pressure point on Edi's right calf, a hit that would be excruciating even without breaking any bones. Edi skillfully dodged by lifting his leg.

With a push of her palms against the ground, Yang Chuxia slid under Edi like a slippery eel, sprang to her feet, and aimed a punch at Edi's central nervous system.
