C4 Complaint
The injury was so severe! Yang Chuxia was taken aback. She moved her body, feeling as normal as ever. The excruciating pain from being thrown by Edi seemed like nothing more than a bad dream now.
"Thank you!"
005 smiled and offered, "Dr. Yang, it's no trouble at all. It's lunchtime now. Would you like me to bring you something to eat, or would you prefer to dine in the restaurant?"
Yang Chuxia responded, "No need to trouble yourself; I'll head to the restaurant."
Upon entering the Medical Cabin, she had changed into a sanitized hospital gown. Now, it was time to change back into her regular clothes. She picked up her clothes that were placed beside the Medical Cabin, glancing at 005.
005 offered her a reassuring smile and a shrug, "Alright! I'll respect your privacy and wait outside the treatment room." Saying this, he stepped out and gently closed the door behind him.
Yang Chuxia chuckled and called out, "I'm so sorry!"
From outside, 005 replied, "Hey! All beautiful ladies deserve their privacy. I understand!"
This Intelligence Robot was incredibly advanced! Indeed, the intelligence of 29th-century robots was nearly indistinguishable from that of humans, and their appearances could be made incredibly lifelike.
However, for practicality, the robots in the team were not designed to look exactly like humans, which made it easier for people to identify them.
In the Medical Department, there were only two human nurses. One was Janice, a beautiful young woman around 25 or 26 years old. The other was Lin Yin, who was around the same age as Yang Chuxia, both delicate and demure in appearance.
As Yang Chuxia opened the door, she saw Lin Yin returning with a lunchbox.
Lin Yin greeted her with joy, "Oh my god! Dr. Yang, you're awake! I thought you'd be out for another half hour, so I brought you a meal."
Yang Chuxia smiled, accepting the lunchbox, and thanked her, "I appreciate it, Lin Yin! By the way, where's Janice?"
Linking arms with her, Lin Yin walked into the treatment room and explained, "She's off today. She was just bored this morning and dropped by to chat with me, which is why she was here when the incident happened."
Yang Chuxia nodded and took a seat at the desk, opening her lunchbox to reveal a surprisingly sumptuous array of dishes, complete with a large bowl of soup. She glanced at Lin Yin, a hint of surprise in her gaze.
Lin Yin offered a smile and explained, "Normally, the Intelligence System automatically allocates everyone's meals. But since you've been injured, I thought we'd cater a bit more to your tastes."
Realization dawned on Yang Chuxia. "I was wondering why the meals I usually get seemed so repetitive. Why is this one so lavish? I almost thought I could choose my own meals!"
Lin Yin's voice was gentle as she replied, "This was specially authorized by General Edi."
The previously cozy atmosphere chilled in an instant. Lin Yin, sensing the shift, said with a hint of discomfort, "Hey, Dr. Yang, please don't be upset. There's no harm in enjoying it."
Yang Chuxia offered a smile and agreed, "Indeed, there's no harm." She began to eat slowly, her thoughts on Edi not particularly warm. Did he really think such a transparent tactic would work on her, as if she were a toddler?
Yang Chuxia's grievance wasn't with the fact that Edi had injured her; it was the challenge he issued before humiliating her and mocking her height. It was an outright insult, and she had no intention of forgiving him.
Observing her composed expression, Lin Yin ventured cautiously, "Dr. Yang, do you plan to lodge a complaint against General Edi?"
The look Yang Chuxia gave Lin Yin was icy, her meal suddenly as bland as wax in her mouth. Any fleeting appreciation for Lin Yin evaporated. She responded coolly, "Am I not allowed to file a complaint?"
Realizing the misunderstanding, Lin Yin hurried to clarify, "No, no, no, Dr. Yang, you might have gotten the wrong idea! It's not like you think. What I'm trying to say is—General Edi challenged you at the Fighting Field because he didn't realize you were Dr. Yang. But why didn't you clarify that to him? If you had, perhaps the subsequent events wouldn't have occurred, right?"
With a slight arch of her brows and a mocking twist to her lips, Yang Chuxia countered, "So, are you suggesting this is my fault?"
"Alright then," Lin Yin said, shaking her head. "If you sue him, he could indeed face punishment, possibly whipping or solitary confinement, or even be dismissed from his position..."
Yang Chuxia was taken aback. Whipping or dismissal seemed extreme. Then it dawned on her: in the world of politics, who doesn't have adversaries? There's always someone ready to seize an opportunity for retribution.
"...But regardless, this was all a misunderstanding from the start! Of course, I deeply respect Dr. Yang's decision, whether to file a complaint or seek mediation."
Yang Chuxia nodded. "I understand. Excuse me, I think I need to go back and rest for a bit." She hadn't planned on actually suing Edi, but the conversation had left her with no appetite.
Lin Yin could only nod in agreement, surprised by Dr. Yang's tenacity.
Leaving the Medical Department, Yang Chuxia felt disheartened. Since her parents' passing, she had rarely been treated fairly, constantly facing bullying and obstacles. Even the simplest matters became unnecessarily complicated for her.
She hadn't expected to encounter such issues in the military. It was Edi who had hurt her, yet Lin Yin's tone suggested that she was at fault for somehow leading Edi to breach military conduct.
On her way from the Medical Department to the dormitory, she passed a small green space. On Planet No Mi, where air and water were scarce, this bit of greenery was exceptionally valuable.
Yang Chuxia stood under a tree resembling a small-leaf banyan, lost in thought.
A young officer approached her, his appearance bright and handsome, likely in his late twenties. He greeted her with an easygoing voice, "Hi! Are you Dr. Yang?"
"Yes," Yang Chuxia responded, noting the insignia on his shoulder. "Major, how can I assist you?"
The officer offered her a friendly smile. "Hello, Dr. Yang! I'm Sean Miller, but please, just call me Sean. I'm General Edi's adjutant. He sent me to personally invite you to his office."
