C42 Hello General!

Small battleships darted across the night sky intermittently. Yang Chuxia spared only a moment to notice that they were all Alliance vessels, but it was impossible to discern friend from foe. Amidst the chaos, numerous light Mechas were active—some engaged in rescue operations, others in combat.

At this point, Aurelian was utterly speechless, her mind a blank slate. She clung to the one instruction Yang Chuxia had given her: to hold onto her waist for dear life.

Their presence didn't go unnoticed for long. They leaped down from the crumbling building with astonishing agility. A silver Mecha, even amidst the frenzy, took the time to whistle at them, exclaiming, "A superpowered individual! Where? Oh! Oh! Oh! And a beauty at that..." While speaking, he aimed his Laser Gun at Yang Chuxia and fired, shouting, "Come here, my beauty, I love you!"

Yang Chuxia, without a word, wrapped her arms around Aurelian's waist and leapt to avoid the incoming laser, which blasted a large hole in the wall. Concurrently, the building began to groan ominously.

Taking a deep breath and gazing up at the sky, hundreds of meters above, Yang Chuxia instructed Aurelian, "Relax, just relax, let your whole body relax." With that, she propelled herself with a forceful kick, soaring toward a rooftop to their left.

In mid-descent, the silver Mecha, along with two others—one black and one red—simultaneously aimed their Laser Guns at Yang Chuxia and Aurelian.

Yang Chuxia's heart plummeted. Suspended in midair with no leverage, and with the enemy locking in from all sides, she had no choice but to tell Aurelian, "Madam, let go!"

Hoisting Aurelian up, she hurled her toward the rooftop on their left, a mere thirty meters away. As long as Aurelian didn't suffer brain death, timely rescue could still save her.

Using the momentum from the throw, Yang Chuxia shifted a meter backward, narrowly evading the Mechas' laser assault.

Perhaps her formidable prowess had ignited their desire for conquest; they shrieked with excitement, once again lifting their Laser Guns to take aim at her...

Just then, two Mechas burst forth from another building, one black and one white. The white Mecha soared towards Aurelian with the speed of lightning and caught her just as she was about to hit the ground.

Meanwhile, the Black Mecha zoomed towards Yang Chuxia, lifting its Heavy Particle Beam Gun and unleashing a barrage on the three Mechas attacking her. The Particle Beam Gun's velocity neared that of light itself. The enemy Mechas had barely taken aim at Yang Chuxia when they were struck down by the Black Mecha's fire, collapsing in defeat.

While Mechas could deflect bullets, they stood no chance against a Particle Beam Gun! With the three enemy Mechas downed, Yang Chuxia was momentarily out of harm's way.

The iconic building crumbled with a thunderous crash, and at that moment, the Black Mecha was still some distance away. Yang Chuxia cast a longing glance at the familiar Black Mecha; now, all she could do was plummet.

Sean had set down Aurelian, intending to rescue Yang Chuxia next, but a small warship in the sky opened fire on him. With no other option, he clutched Aurelian close and evaded the onslaught.

The building began to topple under the relentless shelling. Sean, with Aurelian in tow, leaped from the skyscraper. His heart raced with urgency, and he bellowed, "General, move fast!"

Yang Chuxia listened to the howling wind and the explosions, thinking to herself, 'Is this how I die? Such a shame! If only I had known, I wouldn't have wasted time dancing. I should have clung to Edi for a few more passionate moments...'

The Black Mecha, swift as a bolt of lightning, caught her in mid-air, just ten meters from the rubble below.

Yang Chuxia's eyes grew wide as she peered through the Mecha's transparent visor at Edi's face, hardened by tension. She burst into laughter and breezily greeted, "Hey there, General Edi!"

Edi, who had just relaxed from the tension, couldn't help but feel a mix of amusement and relief. He whisked her away from the battlefield and set her down on a street three kilometers from headquarters.

Yang Chuxia sighed inwardly, "Wow, as expected of the most advanced ninth-generation light mecha, you fly so fast!"

Through the mecha's mask, Edi's voice came deep and resonant, "Stay here. The war will soon be over. The enemy is an official who has infiltrated our headquarters." With that, he turned and soared off.

Yang Chuxia caught sight of the citizens scattering in panic due to the chaos of war.

Despite announcements blaring from above, urging citizens to remain indoors and not to wander or flee, they couldn't resist the urge to escape the city in their flying cars. Police patrols and army soldiers zoomed through the streets intermittently.

After a moment's hesitation, Yang Chuxia chose to sit on the railing of a roadside greenbelt. The battle had lasted only about twenty minutes, but the high tension had left her feeling unexpectedly drained.

The power system was likely compromised, leaving many buildings dark. Amidst the piercing alarm buzz, various luminous flying vehicles and glowing objects filled the sky, yet no one approached Yang Chuxia, who was tucked away by the flowerbeds.

As time passed and the night deepened, Yang Chuxia estimated it was between 10:30 and 11:00 PM.

The nights on the Colonized Star were frigid, growing colder as the hours passed. She was clad only in a half-shoulder evening gown, the hem of which she had torn to bandage Aurelian's wounds. Initially, adrenaline had kept the cold at bay, but now she shivered, her body covered in goosebumps.

Wrapping her arms around herself, Yang Chuxia scanned her surroundings and made her way to a large tree for shelter from the biting wind. This wouldn't do for long, she thought, resolving to find some clothes if Edi didn't return soon.

Another ten minutes passed, and Yang Chuxia had to rely on her inner strength to ward off the chill, shivering uncontrollably. She couldn't help but think with a wry smile, "Goodness! It would be ironic if Sergeant Yang Chuxia survived the enemy only to freeze to death!" Resolute, she set off in search of clothing.

Suddenly, a flying vehicle appeared ahead, its lights illuminating the area. Yang Chuxia, who had been curled up, straightened up with her eyes squinting against the brightness.

The door of the vehicle swung open, and a woman clad in a military uniform leapt down, calling out, "Chuxia, it's me, Lafite!" She walked toward her as she spoke.

Yang Chuxia was both startled and delighted. She stepped out from the greenery and leaped onto the street.

Lafite opened her arms and enveloped her in a warm hug, exclaiming, "Oh my god! What on earth is General Edi thinking, letting you wear so little and stay out here? Is he trying to turn you into an icicle?"

Yang Chuxia laughed and responded, "Later, you'll have to give him a piece of your mind for me. I'm nearly frozen solid."

"Absolutely!" Lafite said, half-carrying, half-hugging her onto the flying vehicle and cranking up the heat.

Finally feeling a bit warmer, Yang Chuxia inquired, "Was it Edi who sent you?"

Lafite chuckled and replied, "If it wasn't for him, why would I make a special trip here? I didn't come to treat you like a deserter facing a military tribunal!"
