C13 THIRTEEN

The students started walking out of the event hall and news men and women started rushing towards them and started interviewing them. Most of the students were to be on Tv so most of them were so happy and said all kinds of things.

A newswoman approached Fikayo and Blessing startling them both.

“Hello, I am a reporter for the TVC news, I see you came straight from school to attend Lashe’s concert. Isn’t that so?” she asked as Blessing intertwined her hands together with Fikayo.

“Yeah. We came straight from school” Blessing replied.

“Yeah, we came as one of Lashe’s biggest fan is our friend” Fikayo said and laughed as she pulled Ibukun to the front of the camera. Ibukun looked puzzled at the camera before smiling a little.

“Hello, your friends just claimed you are Lashe’s biggest fan, is that true?”

“I like to believe that” Ibukun replied with a smile.

“Ohh, what you like to believe. So what makes you want to believe that you are Lashe’s biggest fan?” the lady asked and Ibukun laughed.

“Ever since I became his fan three years ago, you can actually call me one of his first fans, I’ve never missed a concert of his; I mean the ones he had here in Lagos state. The ones he had in other states and the one he had in California and Singapore, I live streamed them all” Ibukun said and both the camera man and the lady looked at her in surprise.

“You even remembered where he has had his concerts?” she asked and Ibukun nodded.

“I never forget any information concerning Lashe” Ibukun replied and the woman nodded.

“Wow! I’m listening” She said as Ibukun nodded.

“I have every single song Lashe has sang on my phone, I know more than half, I know all the names of the albums he has sang. He has sung a total of 67 songs since he started singing, if you remove those ones he formed during his talk shows and all. He has fifteen albums and a lot of singles, he has about six or seven songs as collaborations” Ibukun said and the woman looked on like she had seen a ghost.

“Do you want me to continue?” Ibukun asked seeing the way the woman was staring at her.

“Yes. Can you mention about five of his albums?” she asked and Ibukun nodded.

“Yes. Yellow Skies, Tale of the Boys, Dream, Family, Fairies of the sky, Galaxy, those are my favourites” Ibukun replied with a huge smile.

“I am flabbergasted. What’s your name?” the woman asked.

“My name is Ibukunoluwa but Ibukun or Ibk goes as well” Ibukun replied and the woman nodded.

“Why are you a fan of Lashe?” the woman asked and Ibukun laughed.

“A lot of people ask me that. He’s cute, really, really cute. I feel all warm and fuzzy inside when he sings, I like listening to him and sing and I totally love him dancing. I have a lot of dancing videos on my phone. He’s thoughtful and considerate. He’s really cool and he’s just himself” Ibukun replied and the woman smiled and nodded at Ibukun.

“Awwn…. that’s so sweet. I will be forced to also admit that you are his biggest fan at this rate” she said and the girls burst into laughter.

“She doesn’t say anything even when we fight with other people but once you say something bad about Lashe, she goes haywire” Blessing said and the girls laughed.

“If you ever get to meet Lashe, what would you do?” she asked.

“I actually got to meet him once and I told him how awesome he was. If anything I would want to say to him, I want him to never stop singing and I want him to achieve his dreams” Ibukun replied and the woman looked at her with a smile.

“Okay, I totally admit it. You are Lashe’s biggest fan” the woman said and Ibukun laughed.

“Thank you for doing an interview Ibukun” the woman said and Ibukun nodded.

“You are welcome ma” Ibukun said as she pulled Fikayo and Blessing along.

“You know that interview is going viral right?” Fikayo asked and Ibukun shrugged.

“Something they might end up not publishing” Ibukun said as she bought an ice cream.

“Listening to you talk about Lashe makes me remember how awesome he is” Blessing said and Ibukun chuckled.

“Won’t you start going home before your mom eats you up. Didn’t you say your dad travelled today? No one’s gonna save you today” Ibukun said and Blessing froze and she and Fikayo burst into laughter seeing how Blessing ran to the road and boarded a bike.

“Bye guys” Blessing said and waved as the bike man sped off.

“Do you think she will escape today?” Fikayo asked and Ibukun laughed.

“I think she’ll get roasted. We should bring our flowers tomorrow to show our condolences” Ibukun replied before Fikayo shook her head.

“Who’s coming to pick you?” Ibukun asked.

“My dad. Told him I was coming to watch Lashe’s concert” Fikayo replied.

“Your dad didn’t say anything?” Ibukun asked and hissed lightly.

“I forgot he was a fan. Sorry” Ibukun said as a black jeep pulled in front of them and they both got in.

“Good evening sir” Ibukun greeted.

“How are you Ibk?” Mr Ogunlade asked and Ibukun smiled.

“Fine sir” Ibukun replied as he started driving.

“How was the concert?” Mr Ogunlade asked.

“Pretty much fine. The video already got uploaded on Youtube, we’ll watch it there” Fikayo said and her dad nodded.

Ibukun smiled at Fikayo as she got down from the car. Fikayo wounded down the glass as Ibukun waved to her.

“Thank you sir” Ibukun said and turned before knocking at the gate. The gateman opened the gate and Ibukun walked inside and waved to Fikayo who waved back. Mr Ogunlade made sure she had entered before driving away and Ibukun sighed as she walked inside the house.
