Ibukun was double excited by the time she got to school the next day. The news of Lashe’s admission had spread way too fast and everyone was still talking about it.

“Do you have any idea about what kind of university he chose?” Fikayo asked and Ibukun shook her head.

“I tried thinking but I came up with none. I mean, I know how secretive Lashe is; if he doesn’t release a news, no one knows about it” Ibukun said and Blessing pursed her lips.

“So now we just have to wait till universities start resuming before we know the university he got into” Blessing said as she folded her hands.

“I wish I had super powers to know” She added and the girls burst into laughter.

“I sha wish him the best either ways, let’s go for class. We have practical” Ibukun said as the girls rose to their feet and walked out of the class.

“Did I tell you guys that Tolu got chosen?” Ibukun asked as they walked to the laboratory.

Fikayo scoffed as she took a glance at Ibukun, “Even if you didn’t say, it’s a given that Sis Tolu gets chosen” Fikayo said and Ibk smiled proudly.

“Her name came out on the merit list bah?” Blessing asked slipping one of her hands into her lab coat pocket.

Ibk smiled and nodded “Yeah and they have one week and half to resume” Ibk replied and Fikayo yawned.

“Those people are kind of crazy. They release lists all in one go and ask the students to resume like a week after. They don’t even give them time to get their shit together” Fikayo complained as they walked into the lab.

“Everyone knows that’s their style, so the moment you choose DUL, you start getting your shit together” Ibk said and Fikayo turned to her adjusting herself on the stool.

“That’s not my complain exactly. What will happen after choosing DUL ehn, you get your things ready for school and your name doesn’t end up on any of the list. What will happen to the things you’ve bought?” Fikayo asked and Ibk and Blessing burst into laughter.

“That’s a whole lot of shit mehn” Blessing said as she laughed.

“DUL is a twin sister to University of Ibadan, you don’t choose you if are not confident enough that you’ll get in. Besides, DUL grading style is clear and everyone knows it. Before the list comes out, you already know your aggregate and whether you passed or not” Blessing said and Ibk nodded.

“Yeah, yeah, that’s true” Ibukun said and Fikayo sighed.

“Which university are you going to pick for Jamb next year?” Fikayo asked.

“Maybe DUL?” Blessing asked as she shrugged her shoulders.

“I don’t know yet. I want to go to a university which is one of the best for my course” Blessing replied as Fikayo turned to Ibk.

“You are going to DUL abi?” she asked and Ibk shook her head.

“Sure. Everyone knows that DUL’s scheme for Medicine and Surgery is the same for Harvard University. Five years instead of the seven years. We use the same scheme of work as Harvard university. Two years of clinical medicine and all. It’s more practical than any other university” Ibk replied and Fikayo nodded.

“That’s why a lot of people want to go there but most of them end up not getting in” Fikayo replied and Ibukun shrugged.

“Everyone wants good things but to have good things, you have to work for it” Ibk said and Blessing looked at her weirdly.

“Why are you looking at me like that?” Ibukun asked wearing a smirk at Blessing.

“Just now you sounded like an old woman advising some stranger” Blessing replied and Ibk reached out to slap the back of her head which Blessing skilfully dodged.

“I’m not an old woman. I am young and beautiful” Ibk said and the girls burst into laughter.

“Aren’t we having class today? Where is this woman nah?” Blessing asked as she checked her wristwatch.

“I think they are having a staff meeting or something like that” Fikayo said as she tried to peer that at the staff room that divided the lab into two.

“I don’t think there’s any teacher in the staff room” Fikayo added with a sigh as she sat down again and saw a guy looking at her. He turned his face immediately his eyes collided with Fikayo’s. she turned to Ibk and Blessing who burst into laughter immediately.

“Why are you guys laughing?” Fikayo asked as she turned to the guy who was staring at her earlier.

“I think Aaron is into you” Ibk said and Fikayo turned to her sharply.

“Guys in glasses irk me” Fikayo said and Blessing pursed her lips.

“Awey jare. Sha be doing anyhow” Blessing said before she continued.

“You as well will admit that Aaron is one of the hottest guys on our block even with his glasses. Permit me to say he’s even more hotter with his glasses” Blessing added as Ibk raised her hand for a high five and Blessing slapped handshakes with her.

“He’s just too quiet for my liking” Ibukun added and Blessing nodded.

“Sometimes. He’s almost invisible” Blessing added and scoffed.

“It’s funny when I have to realise he’s actually in the class when the teacher calls him to answer a question” Blessing added as she yawned.

“First period is almost over. I don’t think we are not gonna have classes today” Blessing said and Fikayo checked her wristwatch.

“Most probably, most of our practical’s take more than two periods. Now that one is gone” Fikayo said and looked up when a lab attendant walked into the lab and told one of them to tell other students to go to their classes.

“Let’s go” Fikayo said and the class captain announced that there wasn’t any class.

Ibukun stretched her limbs as she stood up “What a boring afternoon” she murmured.
