C22 The Trial Ended

The sea of clouds is ethereal and unpredictable.

There were many elegant and ancient palaces and pavilions on the two mountain peaks that seemed to be isolated islands in the sea of clouds.

An old man with white hair and a white beard sat cross-legged at a small table in the pavilion on the left side of the mountain peak. He had the head of a crane and the face of a child.

On the table of the small table was a chessboard, and the black and white twins landed on the chessboard like stars and chess pieces. Moreover, it seemed like the situation was very tense, and the white pieces were about to be devoured by the black pieces. However, the white pieces seemed to have some sort of new power that managed to escape. This made the old man stare at the chess piece for a long time.

At this time, a man who was not more than twenty years old arrived along the mountain path. He wore luxurious clothes, had a handsome face, sword-shaped eyebrows, and starry eyes. His eyes often flashed with powerful confidence because he was Lee Haorann.

However, other than confidence, there was also another layer of gloominess.

He walked to the pavilion, cupped his fists and bowed to the old man, and said respectfully, "Master."

The old man was still looking at the chess game, and said, "What's wrong?"

Lee Haorann hesitated for a moment, and then said, "I failed."

The old man sighed and said, "I knew it."

Lee Haorann asked, "How did master know?"

The old man said, "I knew it."

Lee Haorann said, "Disciple doesn't understand."

The old man smiled and said, "You haven't experienced much. Many things only consider one thing. What will happen after that? Whether it will be good or bad, you have never considered it."

Lee Haorann was silent for a moment and said, "Master, you once said that everything is about the result. As long as the result is good, the process isn't important."

"That's what I told you." The old man said, "But now, we need to pay attention to the result and the process. We can't be careless like before."

Lee Haorann thought for a moment and said, "But disciple still doesn't understand. I clearly did as Master said, but I still failed."

The old man took out a black piece from the box and placed it on the chessboard. He said, "That's because you don't know how to change. As the saying goes, when a master leads a person into the sect, their cultivation depends on the individual. You only consider my thoughts on many things, have you ever joined your own thoughts?"

With the old man's move, countless white seeds were instantly killed. However, there were still more than enough of them left, and they still had the power to turn the tables.

"Amazing! Strange!" The old man stroked his beard.

Lee Haorann remained silent for a long time. Then, he cupped his fist and bowed again, saying, "I understand, Master. Then... Master, how should we deal with this failure?"

The old man waved his hand and said: "Do as you see fit"

Lee Haorann nodded and said, "I understand."

Lee Haorann cupped his fist and bowed for the third time, then turned around and left.

The old man never looked at Lee Haorann from the beginning until the end. His mind was focused on the chessboard. He looked at the few white pieces left on the chessboard and said in a low voice, "Kill them all, don't leave any future troubles behind."

Lee Haorann's figure suddenly paused for a moment, then continued down the mountain.

...

Two days passed very quickly.

On the third day, when Dongfang Yu's belly turned white, Xu Jing woke up from his meditative state. He spat out a mouthful of white mist that pierced through the branches and leaves in front of him like a sharp sword.

"It will take a long time to reach a higher level." Xu Jing sighed. Then he thought of something and a glimmer of hope flashed in his eyes. He muttered, "However, if we can solve that thing, perhaps it will be just a matter of time before we reach the Origin Core Stage."

"If we can solve the problem, we will need someone to solve it. When will we go to the Lu Family to take a look..." Xu Jing stood up and looked at the blood-red forest in the distance. He said, "Lu Ming, I hope you don't die in there. Otherwise, it will be troublesome to go to the Lu Family."

"Three days have passed. It's time to bring them out. I hope there are still people alive." Xu Jing lightly stepped on a tree branch and jumped up. Like a dragonfly touching the water, he jumped up and down on the treetop and entered the Blood Forest.

After entering the depths of the Blood Forest, Xu Jing suddenly let out a surprised sound. He felt the Yuan Qi that he had left behind in the wooden tablet, and it was not far from him. After he confirmed the direction, he immediately approached the trees in front of him.

However, he discovered that half of the body of a disciple had been bitten off by sharp teeth.

Regarding this, Xu Jing did not have the slightest emotional fluctuation. Instead, he indifferently picked up the wooden tablet at his waist, and then forcefully crushed it.

Xu Jing stepped over the disciple's body and continued his search.

Along the way, Xu Jing found many disciples' broken bodies. Many of them had been bitten to death by wild beasts, and some had been killed by his own people. He didn't know how much hatred there was between them, but it was also why they were so cruel.

Xu Jing showed a cold expression. After all, this was how he had come here.

After a round of searching, Xu Jing finally found a living disciple.

This disciple hid himself very well, hiding in a tree hole.

However, Xu Jing looked at his badly mutilated fingers and understood that the tree hole was dug by him.

Xu Jing didn't pay attention to the process. He brought this disciple out of Blood Forest with a dazed expression, and let him rest for a while. Then, he continued his search in Blood Forest.

Time passed very quickly, and the sun was about to rise into the sky.

The Blood Forest wasn't a very large area, but it wasn't a small area either.

Xu Jing wanted to check the origin energy of all the wooden tablets in this dense forest.

Finally, he confirmed that there were still a few disciples left alive.

Up until now, Xu Jing had only picked up one disciple.

Many disciples had died in Blood Forest. After Xu Jing found out that their bodies had been badly mutilated after their deaths, he didn't care about the wooden tablets on their bodies.

"Forty-eight." After a careful calculation, Xu Jing found that he had already found forty-eight disciples, including the only one who was still alive.

Xu Jing couldn't help but frown. The thing that he didn't want to happen the most might happen.

However, he still hadn't found Lu Ming's corpse, so he didn't need to think too much about it.

Xu Jing continued to explore the places he hadn't explored. After a few steps, he suddenly heard some rustling sounds and sensed the Yuan Qi he had left in the wooden tablet.

"Eleventh Senior Brother, it's already the fourth day. We should be able to get out."

"I also want to go out, but..."

"I'm lost!"

"Don't worry. Elder Xu Jing said that as long as we don't lose the wooden plaque on our bodies, he will definitely find us on the fourth day. "

"Senior Sister Kang Hong is still the calm one."

... ""

Xu Jing noticed that it was Kang Hong and the others. He couldn't help but look at Wei Liang, thinking that perhaps Lu Ming might be among them.

Xu Jing rushed towards the direction where Kang Hong and the others were.

After he passed through a few bushes, his field of vision became a little wider. He came to an open area surrounded by trees.

Kang Hong and the other three were looking at him vigilantly. It must be because of the movement he made just now.

"Elder Xu Jing."

Kang Hong and the others saw that it was Xu Jing and immediately heaved a sigh of relief. It was as if there was a big stone in their hearts that had safely fallen down and was completely relaxed.

Xu Jing glanced at them and frowned slightly. He did not notice Lu Ming.

Xu Jing couldn't help but ask, "Where is Lu Ming?"

Kang Hong and the others were stunned.

Kang Hong was a little disappointed and said, "We... we don't know either."

No.
