C26 I'm Heading Out to Kill Someone!

When the middle-aged teacher saw that the student walked inside the classroom without even looking at him once, he immediately flew into a rage. He scolded, “Class already started two minutes ago, and you only walked in now?! Don’t tell me you fell into the toilet! Hurry up and take your exam!”

Seeing how their teacher was reprimanding Meng Ran, the students below covered their mouths and laughed secretly.

As Meng Ran walked to his seat, he turned his head and shot the teacher with a look of killing intent. He wordlessly stared at the middle-aged man for a very long time.

The stare was so ferocious, the middle-aged teacher’s shirt was soaked within seconds, and he took three steps back. His body leaned against the blackboard for support as he trembled.

At this time, not a sound could be heard inside the classroom.

Meng Ran cast another deep look at him. After that, he turned around and walked to his seat.

The sound of Meng Ran stepping on the tiles in his casual shoes was the only sound to be heard at the moment. Other than that, it was deafeningly quiet.

When Meng Ran got to his chair, he looked like he was on the verge of retracing his footsteps. He still needed to deal with Zhang Tao’s matter. Meng Ran took his school bag and got up again.

At this very moment, Jiang Yufei’s dissatisfied voice rang out shrilly, “Meng Ran, what are you doing? We have an exam to take.”

Meng Ran, whose back was still facing the other students, suddenly stopped by the doorway, and he said word by word, “I’m heading out to vanquish those who have offended me!”

Meng Ran loudly slammed the classroom door shut behind him and left.

Jiang Yufei stared at the tightly shut classroom door; her face was ashen-gray. She didn’t know what to make of this situation.

After a short period of silence ensued, the middle-aged teacher was furious to the point of vomiting blood. “The students nowadays are out of line. I must report this matter to the principal immediately and punish this student who disrespected me!”

On the long bus ride to the North Rao County of Jiangzhou City, Meng Ran turned his gaze to stare at the trees passing by outside the window. He finally calmed down somewhat. After feeling slightly hesitant about the whole ordeal, Meng Ran sent a text message to Soong Shuling.

“Mom, please help me apply for leave from the teacher. I only need a few more days. Or at least until tomorrow. Also, I’m not going out to play. I need to take some time off because there's an urgent matter that needs my attention.”

Soon after, his phone vibrated, notifying him of a text. He checked and saw it was a message from Soong Shuling.

“Son, I believe you. However, your teacher only gave you leave for this afternoon and tomorrow. Please take care of yourself while you’re in Jiangzhou. Make sure to call me if you need anything.”

Seeing his mother’s concerned words made the hostility in Meng Ran’s heart quiet down by a lot. However, he wanted nothing more than to strangle the murderer who harmed Zhang Tao’s father with his own bare hands. Only then would his killing intent lessen somewhat.

The trip from Xing Cheng District to North Rao County took about two hours. Moreover, after departing from the bus, Meng Ran had to rent a cab to take him the rest of the way. By the time he arrived in front of ‘Zhang’s Antiques’ in North Rao County’s Dongchang Street, it was already past six o’clock in the evening.

Through his cab window, Meng Ran spotted two young men wearing basketball jerseys and jeans that had holes in them. They swaggered into the shop like they owned the whole block.

Meng Ran dashed out of the car and raced toward Zhang’s Antique Shop.

Simultaneously, in a room inside the Antique Shop, Zhang Tao, who was seated in a wheelchair, looked very worried. He watched with concern in his eyes as his father, Zhang Cheng, wrapped bandages around his ribcage. “Dad, if things don’t really work out, let’s hand over the Antique Shop to them. Even though the demolition fee we’ll be receiving will be a little less, at least we’ll be out of harm’s way.”

When Zhang Cheng, who was leaning his body against the bed’s headboard, heard his son say that, he was infuriated. He roared to the heavens, “They can have my Antique Shop over my dead body!”

Zhang Tao saw his father’s livid face and could only shake his head and let out a long sigh. It was his hope that Meng Ran’s father could come through for them this time.

When Zhang Tao heard Meng Ran say that he was coming, he naturally thought that Meng Ran would go out of his way to head over to the county government compound to find his father and settle things on that end that way.

A voice sounded out of nowhere, “You’re quite stubborn. Do you have a death wish?”

A mix of emotions flashed over Zhang Tao’s face right then. Even Zhang Cheng stiffened beside him, and his body quivered nonstop.

The curtain over the doorway was lifted up. Suddenly, a young man whose hair was dyed yellow and a young man with a crew cut leisurely strode in, one in front and one in back.

Zhang Tao looked at the two young men, who were chewing on their cigarettes, and said in an angry voice, “You said that you would come at seven. It’s only six.”

The yellow-haired youth spoke with his cigarette still in his mouth, “I can see that I’m not welcome here.” He then held the cigarette and flicked ashes on Zhang Tao’s paralyzed legs.

Zhang Tao stared intently at the yellowed-haired youth, not saying a word. At this moment, Zhang Tao was no longer just a bookworm. His eyes were on fire, lit with a determination that could only come from his stubborn spirit.

“Don’t touch my son! If you want something, come to me about it!” Zhang Cheng saw that the two youths were bullying his son and immediately struggled to get out of bed. Because he became too excited, his broken ribs moved and immediately caused him to double over in pain.

The crew cut youth came up to him and threatened, “You're really asking for it now!”

Zhang Tao said, visibly excited now. “You will receive retribution for your crimes today!”

When the yellow-haired youth saw that the man whose ribs were broken by his boss could still stand up on his own two feet, he was shocked to the core. He gently patted Zhang Tao on the face and provoked him. “You’re saying I will receive retribution?”

As the Yellow Hair said this, he pretended to be scared silly and patted his chest rather comically. He said in an arrogant voice, “Karma, I’m waiting. Come and get me.”

At this moment, a cold and ruthless voice that seemed to come directly from the depths of hell rang out.

“You touched Zhang Tao with this hand, right?”

Before the yellowed-hair youth had time to react, he saw a fair palm suddenly reach out and press down on his arm.

The next second, the crisp sound of bone cracking could be heard throughout the store!
