C10 Intentionally Causing Trouble!

Xu Youcai may not have been with the company for long, but he clearly possessed skills that earned him considerable respect within the entire Sales Department.

Within just ten minutes of the meeting being announced, every member of the Sales Department had arrived and were seated quietly in the meeting room, awaiting Xu Youcai's entrance.

Lin Yuan was the exception, lounging in a corner with an air of nonchalance, glancing left and right. The other employees seemed to be ostracizing him, deliberately sitting far across the room.

The undercurrent of sarcastic whispers and pointed looks didn't need to be elaborated upon.

Xu Youcai, the Sales Department supervisor, made a deliberately late entrance. It wouldn't do for him to arrive early and wait for the others. He carried himself with the air of a leader.

"Today, we have three main items on the agenda," he began. "Firstly, our partners from the Farsi Empire are soon to arrive in the country, and our department will be responsible for their reception.

"We also welcome a new member to our team, Lin Yuan. You're all familiar with him, so I'll spare further introductions. Please extend him your full support in our future endeavors, as he is the president's husband." The word 'husband' was laced with a heavy dose of sarcasm, prompting knowing smirks from the audience. It was a clear jab at Lin Yuan's perceived lack of merit.

The general consensus was that without his connection to Bai Shuang, Lin Yuan would have no place here.

"The final matter concerns the Farsi Empire delegation. Originally, I was to arrange their reception, but with the president's intervention, I'll defer to her decision. Lin Yuan, you will take the lead on this."

Xu Youcai's smile held a hint of malice as he fixed his gaze on Lin Yuan.

She's tasked you with this, has she? Let's see how you fare, and whether you'll still have the gall to stand by Bai Shuang's side after this. With no real affection between you, any slip-up could shatter the façade of your marriage, couldn't it?

"As for the visiting partners, we've made temporary accommodations for them at the Home Inn. Lin Yuan, you'll be responsible for their welcome and care while they're here."

Lin Yuan's brow furrowed immediately. He didn't mind being tasked with receiving guests, but the suggestion to use Home Inn—a decidedly ordinary, mass-market hotel—was a clear slight to their partners.

He couldn't help but feel that Xu Youcai was underestimating his intelligence, deliberately creating obstacles for him.

"Our partners have traveled a long way; it's hardly appropriate to house them in such accommodations," Lin Yuan remarked.

Xu Youcai offered a slight smile. "We're in a bind; the company's funds are tight. But since the CEO has entrusted you with this, I'm confident in your exceptional abilities. Any shortcomings in the environment can be compensated for with superior service."

'Once you're under my thumb, be prepared for hardship. I'll make sure you're disgraced,' Xu Youcai thought to himself. He had it all figured out—if he sabotaged this cooperation, he could pin the blame on Lin Yuan. Then, stepping in at the eleventh hour to save the day, he'd reap triple rewards.

Lin Yuan simply looked at him, then let out a laugh and eased back into his seat, the picture of serenity.

"Fine, but they won't be staying at Home Inn. It has to be Dihao Hotel."

Xu Youcai was taken aback, then burst into laughter. "Are you delusional? The company can't afford that. Booking so many rooms at Dihao Hotel starts at 3 million yuan. Are you footing the bill?"

"I'll discuss it with Dihao Hotel. The budget won't be affected in the slightest," Lin Yuan responded nonchalantly.

Truth be told, even if it didn't cost a dime, the owner of Dihao Hotel would be over the moon, too excited to sleep.

"Do you have connections at Dihao Hotel?"

"No, but when my wife gives me a task, I make sure it's done to the best of my ability," Lin Yuan said with a light smile.

Initially, Xu Youcai was skeptical, wondering if Lin Yuan had such influential contacts. But then it dawned on him.

The man was just a fool.

Dihao Hotel's rates were non-negotiable. Even Zhao's Group, with their history of multiple collaborations, had never managed to get a discount.

Lin Yuan was truly out of his depth, thinking he could persuade Dihao Hotel to forgo millions in profits with mere words. He was living in a fantasy.

He made such a rash promise just to show off in front of Bai Shuang. He was practically digging his own grave.

"Your bravery is admirable. However, let me be clear—if you botch this, I won't consider your relationship with the CEO. I'll handle the situation as I see fit."

Lin Yuan seemed oblivious to the trap set by the other party. With a nonchalant nod, he left the company.

His dismissive demeanor left Xu Youcai seething. As the head of the Sales Department, Xu Youcai couldn't believe that Lin Yuan, a mere employee, would dare to disregard him so blatantly.

"Hold it right there. The partner from the Farsi Empire arrives tomorrow. You've got half a day. I expect an update tonight. Fail, and I'll have you out of the company by tomorrow."

Lin Yuan paused briefly, then continued on his way without a word.

Xu Youcai wasn't being difficult just for the sake of it; the situation was genuinely challenging. They had initially booked a decent five-star hotel—not as opulent as Dihao Hotel, but respectable nonetheless. However, Lin Yuan's sudden involvement prompted a change of plans.

The idea of persuading Dihao Hotel to agree to a collaboration for a mere few hundred thousand yuan in such a short time frame seemed ludicrous to him.

Bai Shuang was dealing with paperwork in her office when she caught wind of the situation, her complexion turning ashen. She immediately summoned Lin Yuan.

"Honey, what did you need to see me for?"

"This isn't some game you're playing!"

Bai Shuang's first words were a stern rebuke.

Initially, Bai Shuang was irked that Xu Youcai had chosen Home Inn for the hotel. But reflecting on Xu Youcai's impressive track record and capabilities, she concluded that his decision was based on confidence and a desire to economize for the company.

But Lin Yuan? What ground did he have to stand on? How could he possibly expect Dihao Hotel to bow down to his demands?

"Why so upset, honey? I'm not causing trouble."

Lin Yuan offered a reassuring smile.

"I asked you to assist, not to create chaos. Go and apologize to Chief Xu, follow his instructions, and don't take matters into your own hands."

In Bai Shuang's view, an elite like Xu Youcai would only agree to Lin Yuan's outlandish terms out of sheer anger. It's natural for someone with talent to also have a fiery temper.

"Oh, that? The Dihao Hotel? A single word from me, and they'd be on board," Lin Yuan replied with nonchalance.

He vaguely remembered that the Dihao Hotel was part of the War God Shrine's portfolio. It was a top-tier global hotel chain, half dedicated to turning a profit and half to intelligence gathering.

As fate would have it, Xu Youcai arrived at the doorstep just then, intent on reporting Lin Yuan. Overhearing the conversation, he couldn't suppress a snort of derisive laughter.

"And who do you think you are? The Dihao Hotel has a worldwide presence. Even the heir of Zhao's Group wouldn't make such grand claims. I truly wonder why the president would choose a husband like you."

Bystanders occasionally passing by the door would catch a glimpse of the scene, understand the gist, and shake their heads with a smirk. He was clearly out of his depth, trying to impress a woman. If he wasn't useless, what was he?

Lin Yuan, however, remained unfazed, simply shrugging his shoulders. He casually pulled out his phone.

"You know, I just remembered I have the number for the head of Dihao Hotel. I'll just give them a call."
