C121 Sleep!?

Zhang Chen's eyes went wide, a look of utter bewilderment in his gaze.

Han Qiqi was just as taken aback!

"Inconceivable," Han Tianhua exclaimed, "What are you saying? You're having them sleep together?" He rose to his feet abruptly.

Zhu Jiuyan rolled her eyes and icily commanded, "Sit down!"

Caught off guard, Han Tianhua hesitated but eventually reseated himself, still reeling from the shock.

Zhu Jiuyan, with a chuckle, probed, "Don't you two want to share a bed?"

Zhang Chen's mouth twitched involuntarily; he was at a loss for words.

Equally flustered, Han Qiqi faltered, "Mom, isn't this... a bit inappropriate?"

"But you're going to marry him, aren't you? Or are you deceiving me?" Zhu Jiuyan pressed.

Panic surged through Han Qiqi. "I'm not deceiving you, I promise. It's just that I'm still underage," she blurted out, her voice trailing off into a shy mumble as she bowed her head, utterly confused by the situation.

"It's just sharing a bed. I'm merely trying to foster a closer bond between you," Zhu Jiuyan explained, her eyes sparkling with a renewed intensity.

Zhang Chen was completely flabbergasted.

Could this really be the words of a mother?

Han Qiqi's anxiety peaked, yet she found herself speechless.

A complex look crossed Han Tianhua's face.

Zhu Jiuyan's demeanor quickly turned frosty as she pressed, "Qiqi, are you truly lying to me?"

"No, not at all!" Han Qiqi replied hastily, gesturing frantically. "We will share a bed."

At last, Zhu Jiuyan's mood lightened. She smiled and said, "Good."

"Then we'll go grab a bite to eat first. We'll be back soon!" Han Qiqi suggested eagerly.

Hope flickered in Zhang Chen's heart.

But Zhu Jiuyan responded without a moment's hesitation, "There's no need. With my son-in-law visiting, I must extend a proper welcome. I'll send Mrs. Wang out for groceries."

Han Qiqi lingered in hesitation, ultimately unable to voice her thoughts.

Zhang Chen was utterly dumbstruck.

He sat there, awkward and silent, completely unsure of what to say next.

Han Tianhua couldn't hold back any longer. In a low voice, he asked, "Jiuyan, what on earth are you up to?"

Zhu Jiuyan gave a secretive smile. "Zhang Chen, what's your favorite food?" she inquired.

Zhang Chen gave a wry smile. "I'm not picky; I'll eat anything."

That seemed to satisfy Zhu Jiuyan, who nodded contentedly.

It was then that Han Tianhua recalled what Zhu Jiuyan had said earlier.

Suddenly, he was struck with realization and asked anxiously, "Is your wife the Lin family's daughter?"

Zhang Chen was taken aback.

Though initially puzzled, the recent news flashed through his mind, and it all clicked.

Han Tianhua had clearly done his homework.

With an awkward grin, Zhang Chen admitted, "Yeah, that's right."

He had braced himself for Han Tianhua's wrath.

Yet, to his surprise, he was met with a look of utter astonishment on Han Tianhua's face!

Han Qiqi was equally bewildered.

Without warning, Han Tianhua slapped his thigh and leapt to his feet, his expression one of sheer excitement.

Zhu Jiuyan just rolled her eyes, paying him no mind.

Han Tianhua let out a hearty laugh. "Mrs. Wang, bring out the good wine, and make it quick!"

"At once, sir!" the nanny responded with due reverence.

Zhang Chen and Han Qiqi were utterly flabbergasted.

Han Tianhua glanced between the two and exclaimed, "You're a perfect match! Qiqi, go dye your hair tomorrow!

"And no more heavy makeup for you!" he commanded.

"Zhang Chen might not be fond of that look!"

Zhang Chen was speechless.

Han Qiqi was agape.

Had Han Tianhua lost his mind?

Han Qiqi nodded mechanically, her mind a complete blank.

What in the world was happening?

Han Tianhua burst into laughter again, his eyes twinkling with delight.

Finally, he shot Zhu Jiuyan a fierce look.

With a shrug, Zhu Jiuyan replied in exasperation, "You're the fool. Who else is there to blame?"

Han Tianhua shot back impatiently, "Oh, cut the crap! How could I have known that Qiqi's boyfriend would be Zhang Chen?"

Zhang Chen was utterly gobsmacked.

With a beaming smile, Han Tianhua told him, "Zhang Chen, make yourself at home. Don't hold back. This is your home now too! And tonight, you're going to join me for a proper drink!"

As he spoke, he struggled to suppress a laugh!

Zhang Chen found it difficult to swallow.

Had he taken the wrong pill?

"Sure thing, Uncle Han."

Zhang Chen said with an awkward grin.

Han Qiqi was equally stunned.

Han Tianhua added, "And remember, there's no rush to get a divorce. Qiqi is still young. We wouldn't want her to hold you back from anything."

Han Qiqi nearly choked on her own outrage!

Was he her dad or Zhang Chen's cheerleader?

Zhang Chen was beyond feeling anything at this point!

Zhu Jiuyan suggested cheerfully, "How about we go grocery shopping together? It'll give them a chance to be alone for a bit."

"Sounds good!"

Their laughter trailing behind them, they made their way out of the villa.

The villa fell into silence.

After a while, Han Qiqi, still in disbelief, asked, "Did you drug my parents or something?"

Zhang Chen replied, exasperated, "I didn't give them anything, but it sure seems like they've been on something."

Han Qiqi, shocked anew, pressed, "They act like they know you."

Zhang Chen felt it too.

Memories of the previous encounters with Guang Tou flashed through his mind, all seemingly connected to Han Tianhua.

Could this all be related to Su Mang?

The more Zhang Chen thought about it, the more everything seemed to fall into place.

Shaking his head, Zhang Chen was at a loss for thoughts.

With a look of confusion, Han Qiqi probed, "Zhang Chen, just who are you, really?"

Her eyes sparkled with even greater astonishment as she spoke.

Zhang Chen, feeling cornered, threw up his hands and said, "I'm just a regular guy."

Han Qiqi, still looking helpless, asked, "So, what do we do now?"

Zhang Chen smirked and quipped, "No choice left. Looks like I'll have to spend the night with you."

At his words, Han Qiqi's eyes went wide with shock.
