C88 Bullying Me!?
Monkey Man struggled to swallow, his breaths becoming rapid and shallow.
With a sneer, Guang Tou asked, "Not hungry?"
A violent shudder ran through Monkey Man's body. "I'll eat!" he blurted out, and darted to the table to grab his chopsticks and start eating.
Zhang Chen watched Yee Qingsong and the others with a grin. "You're not going to lend him a hand?"
The trio was visibly startled, a fierce anger flashing in Yee Qingsong's eyes. But under Guang Tou's icy stare, he reluctantly joined in and began to eat.
Lin Zhiqing looked on, her expression a mix of emotions, ultimately unable to voice her thoughts.
Before long, nauseating sounds filled the room. The four had reached their limits, their stomachs bloated. Monkey Man collapsed to the floor, retching.
Zhang Chen turned away in disgust. "Guang, keep an eye on them for me. Make sure they finish. And if they mess up the hotel's carpet, they're paying for it."
"Sure thing, no problem," Guang Tou replied, nodding eagerly.
Without further delay, Zhang Chen strode out of the hotel, Lin Zhiqing close on his heels. The place had become unbearably revolting.
The hotel soon echoed with the sounds of heaving.
Guang Tou slapped his forehead, muttering, "I forgot the main task!" He had been sent here on a mission and had let it slip his mind. But with Zhang Chen already out of reach, it would have to wait until their next encounter.
Outside, Zhang Chen and Lin Zhiqing paused. Lin Zhiqing, her face a tapestry of complex emotions, was about to speak when her phone rang.
Her face lit up with surprise at the news. "What? My grandfather woke up? I'm heading back right away!"
A weight lifted from Zhang Chen's shoulders.
Phone still in hand, Lin Zhiqing turned to Zhang Chen, her voice tinged with excitement. "My grandfather's awake. Let's go see him, shall we?"
Zhang Chen was momentarily lost in thought.
Lin Zhiqing had never spoken to him quite like that before.
It took a while, but Zhang Chen eventually responded with a chuckle, "No need, you go on back. I've still got some things to handle."
Feeling a twinge of disappointment, Lin Zhiqing nodded. "Okay, then next time we have the chance, I'll take you out for a meal. Today got all mixed up because of them."
Zhang Chen flashed a grin. "Sounds good."
Lin Zhiqing gave him one more long, complex look before finally getting into her car and driving off slowly.
Zhang Chen's gaze lingered until Lin Zhiqing's car was out of sight.
Then, a black Mercedes-Benz pulled up in front of him.
He shook his head with a sense of resignation and climbed into the car without a second thought.
Loong San fired up the engine, and they headed straight back to the villa under the darkening sky.
Pulling up to the villa, Zhang Chen noticed it was shrouded in darkness, which brought a wave of disappointment. Su Mang had been away for quite some time, and Lau Qingyue hadn't been home in two days.
Zhang Chen pursed his lips, about to exit the car, when suddenly his eyes brightened.
"We should go train some boxing!" he exclaimed with a surge of excitement.
Loong San looked at him, a flicker of astonishment in his eyes. "You're feeling up to it?"
With an awkward smile, Zhang Chen replied, "Not exactly, but I can still give it a go."
Loong San glanced at Zhang Chen in the rearview mirror and, after a pause, gave a gentle nod. "Alright."
Soon after they entered the room, agonized howls could be heard.
By the end of the night, Zhang Chen, aching all over, managed to take a bath and drag himself back to his room. Despite the pain, he wore a contented smile; he had managed to shift the blows from his chest to his arms. He had made progress.
He was convinced that by tomorrow, he would be able to dodge them entirely!
With that hopeful thought, Zhang Chen closed his eyes and drifted off to sleep.
Come morning, he woke up slowly, only to be greeted by a sharp, stabbing pain as he sat up.
Zhang Chen sharply inhaled, his face contorted in pain.
It took him a while to adjust to the discomfort. After freshening up, he headed to the hall.
Post-breakfast, Zhang Chen set out to address some matters at the hotel.
Lin Zhiqing's suggestion from the day before had sparked an idea in him.
Exiting the villa, he found the black Mercedes already waiting, prompting a sigh of resignation.
He got into the car and drove straight to Hongtai Hotel.
Before long, he pulled up at the hotel entrance.
Stepping out of the car, Zhang Chen made his way directly inside.
The hotel was quiet in the early hours, with scant business.
However, he hadn't walked far when he spotted a familiar, slender figure seated at a corner table.
His eyes widened at the sight of the green hair. It was her?
It was Han Qiqi, whom Zhang Chen had carried out the previous day.
A wave of helplessness washed over him.
To sidestep any complications, he quickened his pace toward the elevator.
But no sooner had he moved than a crisp voice called out, "Do you think I'm blind?"
Zhang Chen froze.
"You seem to be looking out for my business," he said with a wry smile, preparing to walk away.
"Stop right there!"
Han Qiqi's voice rang out commandingly, "Come here!"
Zhang Chen was at a loss.
He stood rooted to the spot, torn.
Han Qiqi chuckled mischievously, "If you don't come over, I'll start breaking things."
Annoyed, Zhang Chen rolled his eyes and retorted, "You'll have to pay for any damages."
Han Qiqi's smile was one of sheer arrogance. "My family can afford it."
Her tone was unmistakably threatening.
Zhang Chen's mouth twitched in frustration.
If she persisted in her destructive spree, his business would be doomed.
He couldn't believe he was being bullied by a young girl!
Though seething inside, Zhang Chen was at a loss for words.
He felt trapped.
What's more, calling the police might not even resolve the situation.
With that, Zhang Chen reluctantly made his way over to where Han Qiqi sat, legs crossed, wearing a smug smile.
Zhang Chen slumped into the seat across from her, his tone laced with irritation, "Speak your mind."
A mischievous spark danced in Han Qiqi's eyes as she teased, "I'm not really up to anything. I just feel like picking on you."
Zhang Chen was taken aback.
