C95 You Want to Compete with My Sister!?

He glanced up and saw Lin Zhiqing glued to her phone, her eyes wide with disbelief.

What's gotten into her?

A look of confusion flickered across Zhang Chen's face.

"What are you doing?" he inquired.

But Lin Zhiqing remained silent, her gaze fixed on the phone screen as her expression slowly turned icy.

Zhang Chen's mouth twitched involuntarily, a sense of foreboding creeping up on him.

Finally, Lin Zhiqing put her phone away and looked up, the turmoil and guilt that had marred her features now vanished.

Standing, she spoke in a frosty tone, "You've saved my grandfather twice. I'll find a way to repay you."

"I have to go now," she added, and with that, she was gone.

Zhang Chen was left in a fog of bewilderment.

Before he could process his thoughts, Lin Zhiqing stormed off toward the staircase and quickly faded from view.

Zhang Chen sighed in resignation.

Then, a troubling thought struck him, and he hastily pulled out his phone, only to be confronted with a headline.

"Han Qiqi caught in a secret rendezvous with a mystery married man!"

His worst fears had materialized.

He opened the article, but the words blurred into insignificance as he frantically scrolled through the photos.

Images of them leaving a restaurant, strolling through a mall, and most damning of all, the photo of him carrying her out of the hotel—it was all there.

Zhang Chen felt a wave of helplessness wash over him.

The thought of Han Qiqi made him seethe with frustration.

He had no longing for a return to the Lin family, but the sting of being so grossly misunderstood was intolerable.

Yet what was done was done, and his anger changed nothing.

With a heavy sigh, Zhang Chen rose and left the restaurant.

The night had fallen, and he was at a loss for where to go.

A black Mercedes-Benz pulled up before him.

He slid into the car, grumbling, "How could you not know I was being secretly photographed?"

Loong San's voice came, deep and serious, "I knew."

Zhang Chen grimaced, his frustration evident as he asked, "Then why didn't you do anything about it?"

Loong San responded indifferently, "You didn't ask me to handle anything."

The car started and began to move at a slow pace.

Soon after, Loong San pulled up to the door.

With the lights all off, Zhang Chen's heart sank in disappointment.

Neither Su Mang nor Lau Qingyue were anywhere to be found, having not returned at all.

"Come on, let's keep training," Zhang Chen said, looking up with a smile.

Loong San gave a nod of agreement.

Before long, the villa echoed with the sounds of anguished howling.

Time passed, and then came Zhang Chen's triumphant cry, "I dodged it!"

Loong San stood tall and straight.

Meanwhile, Zhang Chen lay sprawled on the ground, gasping for breath, yet his face was beaming with excitement.

After three days of practice, he had finally managed to dodge Loong San's punch!

Loong San commented coolly, "Not bad. You've made quite the progress in just three days."

Zhang Chen's eyes sparkled with realization.

He had discovered that dodging wasn't just about speed, but also skill!

He didn't always need to move his feet; he could twist his body instead!

Getting to his feet, Zhang Chen asked eagerly, "So, what should I practice now?"

Loong San smiled and suggested, "Try dodging two of my punches."

Zhang Chen's pupils contracted sharply.

But after a moment's contemplation, a resolute look crossed Zhang Chen's face, and he declared, "Alright, bring it on!"

With that, he resumed his evasive stance.

The living room was once again filled with prolonged cries of pain.

Fresh from his shower, Zhang Chen emerged wrapped in a bath towel.

Suddenly, a knock at the door made him snap to attention.

Could it be his sister returning?

With a surge of excitement, Zhang Chen hurried to answer the door.

As it swung open, a shock of green hair caught his eye.

Zhang Chen paused, almost instinctively trying to shut the door.

But Han Qiqi barged in, headfirst, making herself at home in the living room.

Zhang Chen's brow furrowed as he asked, "What are you doing here?"

Han Qiqi replied nonchalantly, "My dad tricked me. My mom isn't sick at all."

Zhang Chen, taken aback, inquired, "How did you even know where I live?"

With a smug grin, Han Qiqi boasted, "If I'm interested in you, I could find out the color of your underwear."

Her face radiated sheer pride.

Zhang Chen inhaled deeply, a tone of resignation in his voice. "Are you out of friends or something? Why come to me of all people? Are we even that close?"

"Do you not welcome me?" Han Qiqi retorted with a haughty air, her gaze sweeping over the room.

"Welcome you? Of course not!" Zhang Chen replied without missing a beat.

Han Qiqi shot him a fierce look. "Do you have any idea how many people would kneel and beg for my attention, and I haven't given them the time of day?"

"You clearly don't appreciate the good fortune you've stumbled upon."

She plopped down on the couch and crossed her legs with an air of entitlement.

Zhang Chen strode over, a smirk on his face. "I can't believe there's actually someone out there who likes you."

Han Qiqi's eyebrows shot up, her voice dripping with disdain. "Can't you ever just be honest? Are you saying I'm not beautiful?"

Zhang Chen nodded earnestly. "No, you're not beautiful."

"You..." Anger flashed across Han Qiqi's face as she snapped back, "You're lying!"

"Ever seen a real beauty?"

Zhang Chen chuckled. Her confidence was truly baffling.

"Beautiful women? I've met plenty. My wife is more beautiful than you, and so are my sisters. You're not even in their league," he said nonchalantly.

Han Qiqi burst into a mocking laugh. "Really? Be serious for once. Your wife and sisters are more beautiful than me? You must be living in a fantasy!"

"If you're so sure, then arrange a meeting with them!"

"If you can't, then I suggest you keep quiet."

Zhang Chen let out a sigh of helplessness.

Why did no one ever take his word for it?

Han Qiqi's complacent smile widened as she taunted, "What's the matter? Cat got your tongue?"

Her face was etched with scorn.

She was insufferably arrogant!

Zhang Chen simply shook his head.

But just then, a noise from outside the door caught his attention.

He looked up, only to realize that the door had already swung open...
