C13 Catch the Thief Before He Gets Away

Yu Xiaotong mumbled under her breath, “That’s not me… “

The company Yu Xiaotong worked in was the south branch of Milkyway, located in A City. Milkyway’s headquarters was based in B City and B City was a city in the north.

The south branch of the company was built not long ago. Zuo Yuliang worked as the general manager of the south branch company, and his cousin Zuo Lingfeng was the President of Milkyway. He was the actual boss of the Zuo family. He was normally based in B City and was mainly responsible for the Northern market.

Zuo Lingfeng would head to A City every month to take a look at the development of the other branch.

A month following the commendation ceremony, Zuo Lingfeng arrived in A City again.

Consistent with his other visits, the first thing he did when he arrived was go to the lounge of the general manager’s office so that he could take a nap. When he woke up, he found that Zuo Yuliang was absent from his office.

Zuo Lingfeng thought that he might be busy with something, but he didn’t put much thought into it. He went out to look for something to eat, then realized that he hadn’t been in this location in a long time. With nothing to do, he decided he would go and take a look around.

Zuo Lingfeng went inside the shop and could see people milling around everywhere. Many customers crowded around the counter, looking at goods, and discussing their prices. The store was doing very well. Though he was satisfied by the business, he hid it well under his serious and gloomy demeanor.

Zuo Lingfeng was about to walk around some more when he suddenly heard a shout, “You who stole the phone! Stop in your tracks!”

He was stunned in place.

“There’s a thief! Catch him before he gets away,” the shout came out again.

He followed the direction of the voice and looked over. Not standing too far from him, a woman was pointing at him and shouting, “Everyone, help! That’s the man who stole the phone!”

The woman rushed towards him. Zuo Lingfeng was too shocked to move. He recognized this face! It was very familiar to him!

Before he knew it, he had opened his mouth and muttered something. The rising pandemonium drowned out whatever he had to say.

Zuo Lingfeng was still at a loss at what to do. The woman was already rushing past him and was chasing outside the door. The people behind him were watching with their mouths agape. Soon they all followed the woman outside. The security guards at the door finally saw who the thief was and gave chase after him as well.

Only then did Zuo Lingfeng recover from his daze. He went to the door to check out what was going on.

Some of the people going after the thief were employees of the company. Others were customers who had been browsing through the aisles when the theft happened. All in all, there was no one there who knew Zuo Lingfeng’s real identity.

When Zuo Lingfeng joined the crowd outside, he found the scene before him too shocking.
