C10 Lied

"Beth, are you coming?" my classmate Macy asked.

I smiled timidly at her. I know she understands what I mean by it. The hope in her eyes faded. She sighed and nodded her head later on.

Our group had the highest score so they were happy and decided to celebrate. There is a KTV bar near here and they plan to there. I don't like to go out so I refused. And besides, I already I am already married. It’s not nice to see me outside and having fun while I have a husband waiting at home.

I left the room to go to the canteen. Kian texted me that he was already there. When I arrived at the canteen, their group grabbed my attention. They're having fun.

When Kian noticed me he immediately stood up. He put his arm around me and kissed my cheek. His friend's eyes are on us. I raised an eyebrow at them. Kian guided me to sit next to him. He already ordered food for us. Their silence made me confused. Until I had eaten my meal half of it, they cleared their throats simultaneously.

"Beth." One of his friends called my attention, it was Raul. One of the most playboys in the university.

"Yes?" I asked and looked at him, waiting for him to say what he wanted to tell. I noticed how the way they all looked at me. Including Kian who was silent the whole time.

"It's my birthday today," Raul began. He had a big smile on his lips.

"Happy birthday," I greeted him. He scratched his neck feeling shy. I think I know what he wanted to say.

I looked at Kian who was also looking at me. He just shrugged.

"Maybe you'll allow Kian to come..." Raul said a bit hesitant. He looks like a kid letting his mother know that he wanted to go out with his friends. I sighed.

"Please..." His friends pleaded and still have this look on me.

"Okay, but..." I looked at Raul seriously before turning my gaze to Kian that is now frowning, "He needs to be home before ten pm, sharp."

We still have classes tomorrow and I don't want him to get so drunk. I don't want him to skip class just because of a hangover. His friends have this satisfying smile on their faces.

"Who's coming anyway?" I asked.

I just wondered why I wasn't invited. Not that I am interested. It's just confusing.

"J-Just us..." They looked at each other. "A-All boys!"

"Okay. You seem not sure," I said.

"All boys," one of them said. "Do you agree? Do you allow him?"

I rolled my eyes. "Yeah. Just don't get him drunk. He'll need to be home before ten."

"Yes!" They all exclaimed like kids. As if they don't get together every day here at school.

"Thanks, Moo." I smiled at Kian. He kisses me on my cheeks again.

"Don't get drunk. You should be home," I reminded him again. He nodded.

I went home alone after my class at four in the afternoon.

Kian had already left because their class today was only until three in the afternoon. He sent me messages. It was when they are leaving and when they arrive at his friend's house. I won't have to cook for dinner. I'll just eat instant food.

My classmates teased me earlier. They thought that I would change my mind when they know that no Kian is waiting for me after class. I refuse to go with them. I have assignments to do.

It was seven o'clock when I finished cleaning downstairs. I went up to our room to take a shower and rest.

I am not at ease. This is the first time Kian has been out with his friends since we got married. I look straight at my cellphone. I stopped myself from texting him because it was too early. He just needs to follow our agreement that he'll be here at ten o'clock.

It's already eight o'clock. But I can't fall asleep. My mind was on Kian. Now I thought that he was drunk and need to drive home. I feel so worried. I typed a message.

"Don't get too drunk, okay? Sorry, I am just worried. Just leave your car and take a taxi. Be safe. I love you, Moo."

I sighed and went back to bed. I closed my eyes and try to get some sleep but I'm not really sleepy. I got up and sat in the study chair. I took out my notebook and read my notes. I won't let Kian go next time. I am bothered and worried now.

I looked at the wall clock. It was passed nine o'clock. I sighed. He's on his way home now so I'll wait for him downstairs. I had only been sitting on the sofa for a few minutes when I heard the familiar roar of the car.

Oh, thank God!

I immediately went to the door to open it for him. He smiled when he saw me standing here at the door. He doesn't look drunk. He seems to have followed my reminders. He immediately kissed me on the lips when he got near me.

"It's still early," I said because it wasn't even nine-thirty but he was already here. He smiled.

"I missed you right away," he replied. He kissed me again.

"You've been drinking," I muttered. I don't like the smell of the alcohol. He put his arm around me.

"I'll just take a shower. Then, you know," he gently massages my arm down to my waist. I laughed at him.

"All right. Hurry up and take a shower so we can go to sleep right away," I replied laughing.

----

"See you later." Kian kissed me on my cheek. As usual, he took me here to my classroom again.

"Hi, Beth," my classmate Macy greeted. She smiled. I know she's trying to be friends with me even though I avoid her. I smile and wave at her.

"We had fun last night. It's you weren't with us."

I just smiled.

"Kian was there last night, too," she said. I paused for a moment. I thought it was at his friend's house . I smiled at Macy.

"Yes, their friend's birthday."

He nodded and thought for a moment. "Hey, you shouldn't just come with us last night, so that..."

She won't really give up? She gently scratched her cheek and seemed to think of something. She and her friends looked at each other. So that? What? I frowned as I waited for what she would say next. She sighed and smiled.

"We just want you to know that we are your friends. We are not fake."

"Thank you," I said. I really appreciate their efforts to be friends with me.

My morning classes are over. I was already walking towards the canteen. In front of me also walks a group of cheerleaders. They were talking and giggling.

"Mommy didn't really let me go. You know, I'm still grounded because we went to the bar last month," said one of the girls.

"But what's the news? Did you make it?" the other cheerleader asked.

"Almost. But he left right away. So annoying!" she screamed.

"Oh? So, do you think he's really loyal to his wife?"

"Too early to say that. I won't give up. The school year is coming to an end. We're about to graduate. I can't afford to just let the four years be in vain.

I sighed. Why am I listening to their conversations? There's something in me that's telling me to listen.

One of the cheerleaders turned around. She was stiffened to see me so the other also turn around. The one girl just smirks at me. And I don’t know what that’s for. I just shrugged it off.

They entered the canteen first. I smiled when I saw Kian staring at me. The cheerleader greeted Kian in a very flirty way. My forehead furrowed. I know that they were attracted to my husband but it's just confusing that she greeted Kian now. Kian averted his eyes from her. I immediately sat down next to my him. He immediately kissed me on my cheek.

"I love you," he whispered. So sweet of him. I kissed him on his lips. Just quick and light. He smiled and pinched my nose. His friends make a shrieking sound so I turned to them.

"How's the birthday party?" I asked them. They looked at each other. I heard the chanting of other groups of women who were just sitting at the other table. Raul scratched his head.

"I-It was fine," he said. Fine?

They didn't seem to enjoy it. I didn't say a word again. We ate while Kian and still holding my hand. He glanced at me so I looked at him.

"Why?" I asked with a smile. He just shook his head.
