C48 Ta Er Who Had Been Looked down upon by All the Teachers and Students

Zhang Xing feigned shock among the onlookers, but inwardly he was nearly delirious with laughter.

Did you really think a beating and a bit of humiliation would be the end of it?

Oh, the worst was yet to come!

Ta Er was painfully aware of his predicament as he caught sight of the odd expressions on many students' faces, barely containing their snickers.

His vision darkened, and he nearly toppled back into the trash can.

Ignoring the pain in various parts of his body, he slowly extricated himself from the bin and, head bowed, made his way toward the office.

By the time he came to, Tina had already left, sparing him further embarrassment.

The other instructors also feigned ignorance, either gazing skyward or tapping their foreheads in mock contemplation.

A few steps later, Ta Er felt something in his clothes that made him squirm.

He gave his long black robe a vigorous shake, and several items tumbled out.

He glanced down reflexively at the objects now strewn at his feet, then tried to resume walking, a look of utter disbelief plastering his face.

His eyes crept to the right, scanning the ground.

Once he confirmed he wasn't seeing things, he froze.

The mentors who had been pretending to look away caught on to the commotion. Their mouths agape, they stared at the items on the ground.

The students around were even more dumbfounded.

It was a female student's underwear!

The Tall instructor had stolen them.

In an instant, the looks directed at Ta Er were filled with unmasked contempt.

"This isn't me!"

"I have no idea where these came from."

Ta Er spread his hands wide, his face a portrait of bewilderment and panic.

"Mr. Dalsey, you know I didn't take these!"

Mr. Dalsey's gaze slid off Ta Er's face, and he walked away with a forced casualness, as if he hadn't heard a word.

Seeing Mr. Dalsey dismiss him, Ta Er turned, hands still raised, to another instructor standing by.

Without a word, the instructor turned on his heel and left.

Before Ta Er could even react, the remaining instructors had scattered, eager to distance themselves.

"What are you all staring at? Shouldn't you be in class by now? Have you no compassion left in you? Don't you want to land a great job after you graduate?"

A mentor bellowed at the students as he strode by.

The students dispersed in a flash!

Suddenly, only Ta Er remained, standing alone in the academy, looking utterly bewildered.

Moments later, Ta Er's hands fell limply by his sides.

His spirit deflated, he seemed to lose all his vitality.

"How could this happen?"

"Who has set me up? Who could be so malicious?"

He froze abruptly.

"It has to be that lowlife, Zhang Xing!"

"Why would he target me?"

Before the morning was over, the news of the Tall instructor's shocking behavior had spread like wildfire across the entire Devil Martial Academy.

No one bothered to ask why he had been beaten so severely; the focus was solely on the accusation of theft.

The story that circulated was simple: he was beaten because he stole.

Meanwhile, the alleged mastermind, Zhang Xing, was sitting attentively in the classroom, engrossed in the lecture.

"Zhang Xing, can you tell us about the drawbacks of magical materials?"

Instructor Solina asked with a sweet smile.

"Typically, when we talk about material spells, we're referring to either Half-material Curse or Half-material Formation Spell."

"Excellent, your answer is spot on. You may sit down."

"Class, take note: Zhang Xing is an exemplary student, excelling in both character and academics. You should all emulate him. And if there's anything you're unsure about, feel free to seek his guidance."

With those words of high praise for Zhang Xing, Instructor Solina declared the class dismissed.

The students hurried out of the classroom.
