C29 Unrestrained Power

In Tianyang Town, the Wang Family had built their legacy on the medicinal herb trade. Although they weren't as prominent as the Nine Spirits Shop, they were a clan of fighters, with members often braving the depths of Celestial Wolf Mountain to bring back valuable yellow-grade herbs, which added a modest buzz to the market.

The Wang Family's allegiance to the Jiang Family was largely orchestrated by Jiang Wenn. Legend has it that during a time of crisis for the Wangs, the family head intercepted Jiang Wenn on the street, offering a cartload of herbs freshly gathered from Celestial Wolf Mountain.

The herbs might not have been precious, but Jiang Wenn was impressed by the family head's tenacity and willingness to fight. He readily offered his assistance, and that support helped the Wang Family weather their storm.

"Wang Ye? He's actually involved in this?"

Jiang Yuan was familiar with the story, as Jiang Wenn frequently recounted it to him as a lesson in resilience.

"It looks like father's affairs are firmly in Jiang Woo's hands now."

Gazing out the window at the night sky, a flicker of concern crossed Jiang Yuan's face.

"Young Master."

A soft voice accompanied by a rustling sound came from outside the door.

"Qiao Wei? Come in. What's wrong?"

Jiang Yuan was puzzled by her sudden intrusion so late in the evening.

"Young Master, a group of people arrived on the inn's first floor and exchanged some words with the owner, who then slipped out quietly. I'm worried..."

"They're probably sent by the Grand Elder."

Jiang Yuan's brow creased. He hadn't even sought out the Grand Elder yet, but it seemed they had already made the first move.

"Stay here; I'll go and see what they want."

With that, Jiang Yuan stepped out the door.

In the inn's lobby, several burly men sat at a table, their casual drinking strikingly odd at this late hour.

"Ah, you've come down yourself?"

The leader, a man with a scarred face, stood up as he noticed Jiang Yuan descending the stairs.

Jiang Yuan recognized him immediately—it was the Tiger Head Gang's boss he had just encountered.

A smirk played on Jiang Yuan's lips; he hadn't expected to align so neatly with the Grand Elder's plans, using the Tiger Head Gang as a pawn.

"Tiger Head Gang?"

With a cold laugh, Jiang Yuan advanced and boldly took the empty seat at the Tiger Head Gang's table.

"How is it that even a young master like you knows about our Tiger Head Gang?"

The man with the knife scar felt a twinge of apprehension at Jiang Yuan's commanding presence. He refrained from attacking and instead chuckled.

Jiang Yuan nonchalantly poured himself a drink and downed it with a grin, "The Tiger Head Gang? Who hasn't heard of it?"

"You've got guts, Eldest Young Master! Regardless of what tomorrow brings, I, Liu Feng, leader of the Tiger Head Gang, raise my glass to you!"

Liu Feng followed suit, taking a swig of his own.

"Was this the Great Elder's doing?"

Jiang Yuan's eyebrows arched, his aura undeniably powerful and intimidating without a hint of anger.

"Jianghu rules forbid me from saying, but you are indeed the target!"

Swish! Swish! Swish!

With those words, Liu Feng rose to his feet. His companions drew their sabers and formed a ring around Jiang Yuan.

Jiang Yuan, unmoved, sighed regretfully and frowned, "Looks like I won't be enjoying this drink after all."

"Rest assured, after you're dead, I'll personally pour a cup on your grave!"

Li Feng's eyes glinted with a savage light, realizing he had encountered a formidable foe.

"Very well!"

Jiang Yuan declared, standing up as a surge of Spiritual Force burst forth from within him, sending the Tiger Head Gang members flying several meters back.

"Such immense Spiritual Force!?"

"Boss, we've been duped by that old man; this fellow's strength is beyond that of a mere martial artist."
