C9 You Were Fired

Old Madam had always favored Meng Junjie, giving him every golden opportunity that came their way.

How wonderful it would be if she could seize this chance to negotiate a partnership with Tianyue Media. Success would mean salvation for her Anji Corporation.

Without further financial support, her only option would be to turn to Wang Wenyuan for assistance. Yet, he had just purchased the 'Dream Lover' for her, leaving her uncertain about his current financial capacity.

The more Meng Shuran dwelled on these thoughts, the more agitated she grew. Lin Hao, observing her furrowed brow, intuited the cause of her distress but chose to remain silent.

Later that night, as they were preparing for bed, Lin Hao suddenly propped himself up from the floor and perched beside Meng Shuran's bed. He gazed at her intently and declared, "Shuran, rest easy. Meng Junjie won't succeed in securing a deal with Tianyue Media tomorrow. No one but you can pull off this partnership."

Without waiting for her response, he yawned, stretched out on the floor again, closed his eyes, and drifted off to sleep.

Meng Shuran paused, taken aback. Lin Hao had unexpectedly read her mind. His words, though, left her at a loss for a reply.

She herself wasn't even sure she could guarantee success if she were to handle the negotiations. How could he be so confident that she was the only one for the job? His idea of reassurance was unconventional, to say the least.

With an eye roll, Meng Shuran switched off the light, put aside all her concerns, and settled down to sleep.

The following day, as soon as Meng Shuran left for work, Lin Hao also set out.

Lin Huacheng had called him early, informing him that Secretary Zhou had everything arranged and was awaiting his arrival to start his new role. So, Lin Hao hopped on his recently purchased electric scooter and made his leisurely way to Tianyue Media.

Tianyue Media stood in the prime district of Wangjiang City's downtown, a towering fifty-story skyscraper that loomed over its neighboring structures with an imposing presence.

Below, the parking lots on either side of the building were packed with an array of luxury sedans and sports cars, all unmistakably belonging to the stars and executives of Tianyue Media.

The daily presence of numerous luxury vehicles outside Tianyue Media's building is a testament to the company's rigorous management style with its celebrities.

Tianyue Media has earned its reputation as a leader in the entertainment industry for good reason. The company enforces strict rules for its artists, requiring them to check in at the office every workday unless they are out on a shoot.

As Lin Hao gazed at the parade of high-end cars, he couldn't help but feel that riding an electric scooter to work didn't quite befit a CEO.

While Lin Hao was about to park his scooter at the roadside, a red Ferrari burst forth from nowhere!

"What!?" Lin Hao exclaimed, leaping off his scooter and landing nearly two meters away.

He turned to see a small dent and a lengthy scratch on the Ferrari's front, while his scooter's rear wheel was now grotesquely bent out of shape. And to think, he had just bought it yesterday!

Heartbroken, Lin Hao approached his fallen scooter. Before he could utter a word, the Ferrari's door swung open, and a slender, fair leg emerged.

"Don't you watch where you're going?"

The woman's tone was sharp. As she stepped out of the car, onlookers who had gathered after the accident inhaled sharply in awe. She was stunning! Surely she must be a famous celebrity!

The striking beauty, with her flowing hair and porcelain skin, was clad in a blue bodycon dress that accentuated her figure, and her high heels made her legs look even more alluring.

Lin Hao's face lit up with excitement at the sight of her.

"Suen Rou!"

He hadn't expected to bump into her here. Was she at Tianyue Media to sign a contract today? What a serendipitous encounter!

Despite the damage to his scooter, Lin Hao was unharmed. Besides, he recognized her; Suen Rou was soon to be an artist under his company's banner, so naturally, he wasn't about to pick a fight with her.

Suen Rou recognized Lin Hao as well, her brow furrowed in question. "Lin Hao? What brings you here?"

After her inquiry, she gave him a once-over, then glanced at the wrecked scooter. A memory clicked—just two nights ago, she had heard that the old security guard at Tianyue Media had suffered a heart attack and was rushed to the hospital, prompting the company to hire a young man for security. Could this be Lin Hao?

"Why weren't you watching the road!? My car is damaged, and you can't afford to fix it!" Suen Rou lamented as she inspected the dents and scratches on her Ferrari's front end. It was her new car, and it had been damaged on its very first outing!

Lin Hao's brow furrowed upon hearing her accusation.

"You're the one who hit me. How can you turn this around on me?"

Just then, a confident male voice cut through the air, "What's going on here?"

The crowd parted, revealing a man in a blue suit, flanked by two security guards, approaching quickly.

Liu Guangli, taken aback by Suen Rou's stunning outfit, greeted her with a warm smile. "Ah, Miss Suen Rou, I heard you were coming to sign the contract today. I didn't expect you to arrive so early."

Suen Rou responded with a polite, subdued smile, a stark contrast to her demeanor with Lin Hao.

"I apologize for this inconvenience upon my arrival. I appreciate you coming to resolve this."

Liu Guangli's sense of duty surged at her words. He was determined to assist Suen Rou today.

"Don't worry, this is a minor issue."

Turning to Lin Hao with a stern look, Liu Guangli questioned, "Do you even know where you are? Who allowed you to ride an electric bike here?"

Lin Hao scanned the surroundings and retorted, "Why can't I ride an electric bike here? Besides, she's the one who darted out and hit me. Get your facts straight."

"If I say it's not allowed, then it's not allowed! And you're claiming she hit you? No one in a Ferrari would intentionally collide with someone on an electric scooter. Was she planning to give you money?" The man pointed at Lin Hao, his expression filled with contempt.

Lin Hao's mood soured as he glared at the man before him.

Suen Rou, standing to the side, smirked. "Brother Liu, is he your new security guard? He seems like he might rub a lot of people the wrong way."

At her remark, Liu Guangli suddenly recalled the abrupt resignation of the previous guard. The new guard, he remembered, was supposed to start today.

He sized up Lin Hao, clad in a baggy T-shirt and shorts, then glanced at the wrecked electric scooter on the ground. Liu Guangli was certain: this was the new security guard.

"I can't possibly allow such a person to keep working here. Rest assured, Miss Suen Rou, I'm going to fire him right now." Liu Guangli declared, pointing at Lin Hao, "You're fired. Get out of here quickly and stop tarnishing Tianyue Media's reputation."

Lin Hao just smirked, noticing the name tag on the blue-suited man's chest: Artist Assistant, Liu Guangli.

Had Tianyue Media always been so lax about their staff's qualifications? Since when could an artist's assistant arbitrarily dismiss a lower-level employee?

"You're firing me? Is that it, Assistant Liu Guangli? I'm curious, who exactly granted you the authority to terminate someone's employment on a whim?" Lin Hao asked, his smile unwavering, ignoring the murmurs of the onlookers.

The question caused Liu Guangli's complexion to freeze. He didn't have the power to dismiss people just like that; he was merely an artist's assistant.

But Lin Hao's challenge was a direct affront to his pride.

Fuming, Liu Guangli fixed a furious stare on Lin Hao and was about to unleash a tirade when he was cut off.

"So you think Brother Liu doesn't have the authority to fire you? Well, surely a department manager has that right! Just you wait." Suen Rou said with disdain, pulling out her phone to swiftly compose and send two WeChat messages.

Within five minutes, a woman in a crisp grey business suit emerged from Tianyue Media, her face set in an icy demeanor.
