C131 The Knot in Ji Xiao Han's Heart
After taking the medicine, Emma Scott's condition improved a lot in the afternoon. Clarie Scott received a call from Eleanor Cole.
"Clarie, I didn't expect you to actually do it. How did you do it? Just now, Manager Butler came personally to tell me that it was a misunderstanding. Hurry up and invite you back to work." Eleanor Cole was also happy for her.
Clarie Scott secretly let out a sigh of relief. She smiled and said, "That's right. This matter has finally passed without any danger. Thank you for pleading for me yesterday, mother."
"Clarie, how did you do it? Didn't you say yesterday that you would tell me the reason?" Shouldn't you tell me now? " Eleanor Cole asked with a smile.
Clarie Scott nodded. "Yes, I should tell you. However, I can't explain it over the phone. I'll talk to your office when it's time for work tomorrow."
"Alright then. As long as you keep your job, I can be at ease." Eleanor Cole said confidently.
After Clarie Scott ended her call with her godmother, she couldn't help smiling bitterly. It seemed like she really couldn't hide it from her godmother. Clarie Scott could only bluntly tell her about this matter.
Dempsey Wilson was busy until around 5 PM when he suddenly received a foreign call from his grandma.
His head began to hurt as soon as he saw the number.
"Grandmother!" he shouted gently.
"Dempsey, what's going on with you? Those girls called you, why can't you reach them? Did you give them your assistant's number again? " Old Madame of Wilson Family was immediately angered. She felt that this grandson didn't take her seriously at all.
"Grandmother, listen to me explain. Actually, this matter …"
"Don't explain it to me. Do I still not understand you? By the way, did you contact your brother? This kid doesn't even accept your grandpa's phone call. He's too unfilial. If you see him, you must teach him a lesson, okay? " Old Madame of Wilson Family was really worried about her grandson.
"Grandma, don't worry. I'll definitely tell him. Don't worry, you and grandpa need to take care of your health. When I'm free, I'll come visit you guys." Dempsey Wilson comforted his grandma and hung up the phone.
Just as he was about to let out a sigh of relief, his phone rang again.
Dempsey Wilson looked at the number and slightly twisted it. It was an unfamiliar number.
Dempsey Wilson originally didn't want to answer the call, but after the number was broken twice, it rang again.
"Who is it?" Dempsey Wilson was extremely annoyed, so he picked up the phone to answer the call.
"Dempsey, it's me, it's Mom." An extremely moving and gentle voice came from the other end of the phone.
Dempsey Wilson's body stiffened and his expression quickly darkened to the bottom. His voice was colder than ever before.
"How did you get my number?" Dempsey Wilson remembered that he didn't give her this number.
"Dempsey, it's been so long, are you still holding a grudge against Mom? Mom's across the street from your office building. Will you come see me? I really want to meet you two brothers. This time, I've come specially to find you two. Don't hide from me anymore, okay? " The woman's voice was filled with a thick sense of grief.
"Did you experience some sort of grievance at your husband's place, and suddenly remember that you still have two sons?" Dempsey Wilson's tone was full of mockery, it was like a needle piercing a woman's heart.
"No, I just miss you guys. I want to come over to see you guys. Dempsey, I'm your mother after all, can't you come over to see me?"
Dempsey Wilson's expression was extremely gloomy, his voice was cold without a trace of emotion: "From the moment you married him, you were no longer our mother. You abandoned us, and my brother and I begged you in tears, but you still married him."
"Dempsey, I know I hurt your hearts, but …" I was with him because we loved each other. "
"But don't forget, he was daddy's best friend when he was alive, doing this, how could you not take care of my dad, my brother and I can't forgive you two being together, since you really loved him, then you should just let him be, don't look for us anymore, just pretend that he never gave birth to us." Dempsey Wilson's tone was full of hostility and sadness. It brought back painful memories from his youth.
"Dempsey, can we let Mommy have a look?" Mom really hasn't seen you and your brother for a long time. " The woman cried and begged.
"I'm busy, I'm busy!" After Dempsey Wilson finished his sentence, he hung up the phone.
His heart suddenly ached, as if he had returned to the past, the time when he didn't want to recall it again.
He and his brother had watched their mother marry their father's best friend, step onto the red carpet, and become a couple.
Dempsey Wilson could never accept such an outcome. Therefore, he could never forgive his mother for forsaking him and his little brother so ruthlessly, and hurting his dead father so cruelly as well.
Around 10 PM!
Clarie Scott bathed the two little fellows and told her daughter a fairy tale before going to bed.
"Daddy hasn't come back yet. It's so late!" Emma Scottzhong had already taken a nap. Although she was a bit sleepy right now, she found that her father hadn't come back yet, so she couldn't bear to fall asleep just like that.
Clarie Scott patted her little head and comforted her gently, "Emma, Daddy here may be busy, so he came back late. Don't wait for him, go to sleep first. Will you play with Daddy in your dreams?"
"Mommy, tell me, is Daddy in danger? Do you want to give him a call and ask?" Emma Scott was truly worried now. Her large eyes were blinking in worry.
Clarie Scott chuckled. "Your father always has so many bodyguards by his side. He won't be in any danger. Don't let your thoughts run wild. Go to sleep."
"I can't sleep, I miss dad!" Emma Scott pouted and answered pitifully.
"Then Mommy will sing you a bro to coax you to sleep, okay?" Clarie Scott thought of a way.
"Well, Mommy can try, and I don't know if I can sleep." Emma Scott stopped insisting and decided to listen to Mommy sing.
Clarie Scott began to hum a few nursery rhymes about coaxing children to sleep.
Her voice was pleasant to the ear, and as she hummed, Emma Scott laughed, looking as if she would fall asleep at any moment.
Clarie Scott tried her best to keep her voice low as she caressed her daughter's head and coaxed her.
After a few minutes, the little guy couldn't take it anymore. Hmm, Mommy's humming song, it's too good to listen to.
Seeing that her daughter had finally fallen asleep, Clarie Scott breathed a sigh of relief and covered her with the blanket before pushing the door open.
