C55 This Is Really Wine

Wu Suowei and Lee Xueshu stared at the water bottle on the table, completely baffled.

"Have we fallen behind the times? Is good wine now being stored in water bottles?"

In this ordinary water bottle, there was just a bit of liquid left.

Ye Yu pointed to it and said to Wu Suowei, "Teacher Wu, this is the fine wine I was telling you about."

Lee Xueshu gestured to his own expensive bottle and told Ye Yu, "Look here, my bottle of wine is worth nearly 100,000 yuan, not to mention the special reserve I've collected. You couldn't buy it even if you had the money."

He then pointed at Ye Yu's water bottle, "Your bottle costs just one yuan. Could it really be wine?"

Ye Yu, not to be outdone, shot a look at the 100,000 yuan bottle and retorted, "The quality of a wine isn't determined by its packaging, but by what's inside!"

Wu Suowei and Lee Xueshu exchanged glances and burst into laughter. "Ye Yu, we're not naive. Can't we tell the difference between water and wine?"

Ye Yu let out a sigh and picked up the water bottle. "Teacher Wu, if you're still doubtful, let me pour you a taste."

Wu Suowei quickly intervened, urging him to put the bottle away, "Enough, Ye Yu. Put that water bottle away. My wine vessels are quite precious. Go back to your studies, and don't cause any more commotion, or I'll get upset!"

Lee Xueshu gave Ye Yu a reassuring pat on the shoulder and whispered, "Ye Yu, Wu Shi truly cherishes his wine. Don't tease him about this, he might actually get angry."

Ye Yu pursed his lips and met Wu Suowei's gaze, "Teacher Wu, I'm telling the truth. Han Xue has smelled it before, and she confirmed it's good wine."

Upon hearing this, Wu Suowei took Ye Yu more seriously. "Is that so? Han Xue really said that?"

Ye Yu nodded in affirmation.

Wu Suowei pondered, holding the water bottle, "If Han Xue said so, then perhaps it really is fine wine."

Standing to the side, Lee Xueshu shook his head, still unconvinced. "Even if Han Xue's telling the truth, and it's wine, not water, Ye Yu is just a high school student. What kind of fine wine could he possibly have?"

Wu Suowei hesitated, influenced by Lee Xueshu's doubt, but Ye Yu was his star student, and he didn't want to embarrass him.

"Maybe you could pour us a little to try?" he suggested, immediately feeling a twinge of regret. He had always been reluctant to use his prized wine set, reserving it for only the finest wines, and he wasn't sure this was one of those occasions.

Ye Yu couldn't help but chuckle at Wu Suowei's distressed look. "Don't worry, Teacher Wu. This is truly fine wine; it won't disgrace your wine set in the slightest."

Wu Suowei closed his eyes and dismissively waved his hand as if to say he didn't see anything. "Just a little, pour just a little!"

Ye Yu nodded in agreement. The wine was scarce, after all. How could he possibly give it all away?

He carefully poured a bit of wine into Wu Suowei's wine set and offered it to him. "Go ahead, Teacher Wu, give it a try!"

Wu Suowei accepted the cup with a skeptical frown and brought it to his nose for a cautious sniff.

The tight lines of Wu Suowei's face softened, his eyebrows lifting in surprise as his eyes sparkled with incredulity.

As a seasoned drinker, Wu Suowei could tell a good wine with just a whiff.

His eyes grew wide with astonishment, his heart racing. His hand, clutching the wine cup, began to quiver. This was, without a doubt, exceptional wine!
